  1. Gary Matthews Jr. Plays a good CF, can switch hit, and would be a solid back of the order bat.
  2. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jun 5, 2006 -> 01:47 PM) There's less creepy music this time, right? Yes.....although I like ZZ Top.
  3. Soxtalk On the Air (Downloadable Version) With Jason Gage and Mario Scalise Show recorded on: June 5th Another somber week of White Sox baseball has left Jason and Mario with a lot of things to discuss. It was a more historic show as Jason and Mario both go on a few tangents and get into some hefty debate on the reasons for the Sox struggles, what to do with Brian Anderson and Brandon McCarthy, as well as a hefty breakdown of the 1st place Detroit Tigers. Plus check out some trade suggestions offered by Jason Gage and a new lineup that would leave Uribe on the bench. 4. QUOTE(danman31 @ Jun 5, 2006 -> 02:01 AM) Uh oh Jason, we could have a rematch. Last year your Titans knocked out my Tigers. If Mizzou can win tomorrow we'd get a 3 game set in Fullerton. That would be awesome. Scherzer scares the hell out of me.
  5. QUOTE(Colorado Sox Fan @ Jun 4, 2006 -> 10:59 PM) Pass the pipe over here. BMac is being abused real bad. Can't blame him when they use him once a week at best. I think K. Kennedy has been sucking on the pipe. If the Phillies traded Rowand, the city of Philadelphia would riot. They love the guy. Anderson's not the problem. There are a lot of guys who aren't getting it done with men on base. Exactly Play Anderson more in CF. Our lagging defense has been a major problem and having Mack out there is not helping things (although Anderson did have a rough day out in CF today). Our bullpen is horrid, Politte can't get a batter out and Ozzie has failed to use Bmac more. Bmac needs to be worked consistently to get into some sort of a rhythm. Either Ozzie needs to do that now or we need to send him to AAA to get in a groove. And please, get Hrniak back over here to get Uribe to do the leg kick again (obviously he's not listening to Walker's advice).
  6. Fullerton is now up 6-3 in the bottom of the 5th. Hopefully they can hold on.
  7. Fullerton is playing with a shot at taking there regional tonight. Tied at 3, but they got 2 on with no one out in the top of the 5th. LETS GO TITANS!!!! Oh I wish I had ESPNU or CSTV
  8. I've long been a Phillips fan. It seems like he's done good everywhere he's been. Early on in his career he was compared to Buehrle and his control still needs to improve if he is going to succeed in the majors but he has a similar repetoire. His work ethic has apparently improved as well and I know I'll be pulling for him. I definately think he could make an impact as a reliever and I think he could probably start in a years time for some teams (than again a lot of guys could probably start for a few select teams).
  9. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Jun 4, 2006 -> 03:27 PM) So, is this what happens when a supposed control pitcher with no stuff fails? Broadway can't afford to walk 7 batters over 18 innings, yet alone 4.2. If anyone were to watch Rheinecker and Buehrle battle alongside each other this afternoon, they'd realize control is everything for soft tossers. Hell, does Broadway even hit above 86 mph? Both would have Lance beat in the velocity department if he doesn't. Without velocity and control, Broadway is simply batting practice. Needs to avoids starts such as those. Broadway throws in the low 90's and upper 80's and has a curveball thats superior to anything Buehrle throws. Not saying he'll be better than Buehrle, there are a lot of guys in this game with 4 better pitches than Buerhle has that don't even come close to being as good as Mark.
  10. Rack em up...inning over tied at 2.
  11. QUOTE(Bhay99 @ Jun 4, 2006 -> 11:40 AM) pods catches that ball too, why does ozzie need to rest him 2 days a week? OZUNA SUCKS IN LEFT I can't make that assumption of Pods, but I think Andreson could have caught it. But Pablo with a basehit.
  12. QUOTE(JimH @ Jun 4, 2006 -> 11:40 AM) It looks like the Three Stooges out there in left and center. What is the reason why Anderson is not backing up Ozuna there? My guess is brain cramp. I think he got cauhgt off guard. He was in an odd spot and saw Ozuna coming on and he could have stopped or went in but kind of got caught in between. (or just flat out brain cramp). Either way, bad play.
  13. QUOTE(Soxpranos @ Jun 4, 2006 -> 11:39 AM) Brian needed to take charge there. Hard for him to have taken charge on that play, simply because Pablo was coming across and was already laid out. Plus I think BA has not had much time with Pablo in the field. Still no excuses, it was a very poor job there.
  14. I'm sorry, but he takes at least 1 hit away per game that other guys on our team won't get to, so thats like an extra hit on offense. No reason BA shouldn't be our everyday CF all things considering. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 4, 2006 -> 11:34 AM) There is not reason for him not to start every game. Great minds think alike
  15. We don't have any in-house options. Its Brian Anderson with ocassional doses of Rob Mack or at least thats what it should be (unless we want to stick BA in AAA for about a month and just let Mack play every day, but our defense will seriously suffer and thats not a good thing for a team thats built on pitching).
  16. I want to just say that CF is the least of our problems. If a 9 hole hitter is whats costing us right now well than I will just be speachless cause there is no way in hell a team doesn't make the playoffs because of its 9hole hitter.
  17. QUOTE(gosox41 @ Jun 4, 2006 -> 06:22 AM) I've heard the rumor about getting Rowand back since he was first traded, but we can't trade Garland yet. Bob Garland can be traded, however, he would have to be willing to waive his no trade clause and I don't think he wants to do so, although thats not to say its impossible to trade him.
  18. One thing is obvious...the first move the Sox need to make is to acquire a quality reliever or TWO. But it seems that Ozzie likes Montero's arm (which is decent) although I really don't think he has very good stuff. It doesn't seem like he has much any type of secondary pitch, even though he does have some velocity behind his fastball.
  19. QUOTE(SnB @ Jun 3, 2006 -> 08:26 PM) i can honestly say i've never met a jiminez fan until now Raises Hand

    QUOTE(vandy125 @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 10:38 AM) Thanks for the info Jim! I had been wondering about the subway system there. It looked like you can get just about anywhere on it. Wow. I didn't expect to hear that about Fenway. Do they have the troughs too....uh...nevermind..wrong person to ask that. I personally think Fenway is about as big of a s***hole as humanly possible. Horrid ass stadium in my book.
  21. Your stories are awesome and its really why baseball is such a great sport. Cool stuff!!!!
