  1. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Aug 31, 2005 -> 06:26 PM) The Bears will not go above .500. I'm confident of that. I smell a sig bet.
  2. Lets not get too worked up. He's thrown a lot of innings and minus a couple starts has been good in Winston Salem.

QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Sep 5, 2005 -> 06:29 AM) The Itrip seems to be good for some, and not so good for others. I completely agree on the Ipod volume with the Itrip, 75-80 percent is about as high as you can go without getting crackles in your signal. The station I use pretty much all of the time is 87.9. It seems to be unused pretty much everywhere, and I never have problems with the signals. Typically if you live in or around major cities, the itrip isn't very good. I know out where I am they don't really recommend it (this was told to me from a couple people at the Apple store) and actually told me to just go buy one of those tape deck connectors becasue you get a lot better quality. Went to target and picked one up for under 5 bucks and it works awesome. Also, just to restate what Boz said, make sure you don't have your ipod on full volume when you are using one of the car things. You don't get good sound. Turn it down a little bit and than just use the car volume the rest of the time.

QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 4, 2005 -> 08:54 PM) Neal Cotts has the greatest turnaround from one year to the next of any Sox player in recent memory. I'd think Konerko 2003 and Konerko 2004 would be right there as well.
  6. QUOTE(3E8 @ Sep 2, 2005 -> 08:39 AM) How do you: A. Know how much under the sticker to shoot for? B. Come off like you are in control of the situation? C. Translate haggling to monthly lease price? Shoot for invoice and than if the company offers rebates you get them on top of roughly invoice price on the vehicle. To find invoice price go to www.carsdirect.com

I'm starting to wonder if BA is hyping velocity again here. They seem to indicate that he can get it up to the mid 90's with ease if he needs to. Not saying he pitches consistently there. I've heard he still has a lot of work left on his chaneup, but that it has the potential to turn into a 3rd good pitch. He's supposed to get a lot of movement on his FB and his hook is nasty. I'm still going to take a wait and see approach because he doesn't have what you call an effortless delivery and could be one of those guys you project to have injuries and durability issues. However, its not like he's totally skinny either. One thing he seems to have is the intangibles of pitching. I've heard a lot of things about his poise and maturity on the mound and how much it impresses opposing managers and scouts.
  9. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Sep 3, 2005 -> 10:18 PM) 2 is false... So true on #2. Its why Tyrone was fired. I really was impressed though. Run defense looked strong and offensively the team looked like it was capable of. However, Pitt isn't exactly known for their strong defense so it will be a major test next week against Michigan. UM has a very strong offense and Henne will definately put a lot of pressure on a young, untested ND secondary. At the same time Michigan didn't look all that grand in their victory this week so it should be a pretty exciting game. ND definately has to cut down on some of its penalties, but they were the type of penalties that can be easily cleaned up and you know Weiss won't tolerate those type of mistakes. All in all I don't think Weiss 1st game could of went any better. At the same time, thats probably the easiest foe ND has in the next couple weeks.
  10. QUOTE(He_Gawn @ Sep 3, 2005 -> 05:22 PM) f*** YES IRISH Heck ya, that was a fun game to watch. Offense really looked good and the defense did its job.
  11. QUOTE(Capn12 @ Sep 3, 2005 -> 10:36 AM) I wish that statement were true Jas....I'm guessin you mean BG though. Ya, I'm just a little retarded and hungover.
  12. QUOTE(DukeNukeEm @ Sep 3, 2005 -> 10:25 AM) BG is getting RUN OVER Rutgers will lose because they can't stop the run.
  13. QUOTE(danman31 @ Sep 3, 2005 -> 10:22 AM) The Wisconsin-Bowling Green game is freaking awesome. They each scored TDs in the last minute of the first half and it's 35-35. Northwestern 31, Ohio 7, 3rd Missouri 44, Central Arkansas St. Penitentiary Team (aka Arkansas St) 0 That's. Right. b****es. Ya, its a fun game to watch. Sure no defense, but these two teams are just going back and forth.
  14. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Sep 3, 2005 -> 10:02 AM) TCU 10 Oklahoma 0 Half I hope ABC eventually switches over to this game. Its not like OSU is going to lose against TCU and I want to see that OU game.
  15. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Sep 3, 2005 -> 09:57 AM) Those aren't permanent helmets for Wiscy are they? I'm thinking they have throwbacks on for something. Those things are hideous though.
  16. QUOTE(OfficerKarkovice @ Sep 3, 2005 -> 09:44 AM) At Halftime: Iowa - 49 Ball St. - 0 Plus 4 rushing td's already. Thats almost half as many as they had last year all season.

Good stuff. Valido has baseball smarts and thats one of the things that impresses me the most out of him.
  19. One game at a time...one game at a time. Lets not get ahead of ourselves.
  20. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Sep 1, 2005 -> 09:18 PM) How the f*** do you screw that up? Hell, I'd say 90% of this board knew it was Ruben Rivera, how does Michael Kay, a man so close to the Yankees, confuse the two? Seriously, thats pathetic. Plus Ruben was the guy that was dealt to the Pads originally for Irabu (the japenese pitcher that was a total bust).
  21. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Sep 1, 2005 -> 09:16 PM) Yeah, I know but the multiple Chris Young lovers wre begging for his upbringing ... As the guy thats been gushing over Young for two plus years now, I can safely say that I am happy he's staying in Bham. No reason to start the clock on him, not to mention he's not ready.
  22. Freaking studly performance by Santana tonight. He was rocking and aside from Vladdy playing like s*** once again (and failing to knock in runs with a guy on 3rd and less than 2 outs twice today). Total blast although I was dissapointed, stadium wasn't quite as packed as I expected. Still drew 41000 but there were a lot more on Tuesday than tonight. Oh and RedandWhite, ya I'm an Angel fan. They are my 2nd team
  23. Hey Bull My thoughts are with ya and hopefully the MRI will come back negative. All the best and as always thanks for the info
  24. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Sep 1, 2005 -> 08:31 PM) After seeing these quotes he wont be back with us next year. Sadly its nothing but the truth if you ask me. Ross is a good, professional, hitter plane and simple.
  25. Awesome news. Now hopefully they can add Songalia and reup with Curry and than get Adrian and Pargo back on board.
