Alex, I set the link to target=blank so when you click on the gift cert thing it pops up in a new window. Just copy the coding I used for that if you create another link in the text portion

Bears Draft Pick Poll
QUOTE(Soxbadger @ Jan 2, 2005 -> 08:11 PM) Thats another problem with trying to figure out what is going to happen in the draft. If the Bears sign a WR, then they wont draft Williams or Edwards. If they get a guy like Walter Jones, they wont need OL. Thats why I think they may get Rolle, because CB is a much harder position to address via FA. And at 4, outside of Johnson, he will be the best athlete, with tremendous upside. If he posts a sub 4.4, at 6-1 its going to be hard to pass. SB I just think financially Angelo knows its not typically beneficial to make a selection 4th overall. The signing bonus is extreme and you put a lot of risk on a guy panning out. If the Bears move down a bit, they not only address two needs and a good talent evaluator can get things to pan out, plus they'll likely have some extra money for free agency. I do disagree with you in the fact that the Bears need two recievers regardless, so if they sign one (assuming its not Plaxico or a huge money receiver) then they are still going to be drafting one very high, imo.

lineup...
QUOTE(3E8 @ Jan 2, 2005 -> 08:10 PM) Can you imagine how good we will be if Crede and Garland have their 'breakout' seasons this year? And no one really reverts or gets seriously hurt.

Nevermind, I went in and fixed it. I saw you also fixed it just after I did so I edited the code and removed the extra end center tag. One question Alex, what is the URL to the gift certificate and I'll enter it in.

Alex, I know that was you, so get rid of whatever center you just put in. Cause I actually got off my ass and centered the graphic for ya, lol

lineup...
QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jan 2, 2005 -> 07:40 PM) I agree with everything you've said, Jason. That lineup has no holes in it. One might consider Joe Crede a hole, but I really doubt he's as bad as he was last season. It would also give you some outs in case Podsednik turns out to have a season like last year... Plus when you think about it as having Crede in the 8 hole, its not what I'd truly consider a hole. When you get 20 hr's and 60 or so RBI's from the 8 spot nothing to complain about. Then Uribe in the 9 hole is just sick.

Ya, I need to see Alex change the colors on this one like the other one. Otherwise I may just start experimenting in the next couple days.

Bears Draft Pick Poll
QUOTE(MurcieOne @ Jan 2, 2005 -> 07:30 PM) It goes by draft eligibility... maybe Rodgers and Lienart havent declared yet.... that does make sense. Ya neither have. And both are juniors. I'm assuming both will be going pro, although some people seem to think that Lienart won't be. But when its all set and done I bet he does.

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jan 2, 2005 -> 07:29 PM) I think it's more likely Pierzynski would bat at #7 and Dye at #6, but hey that's just me. Dye could hit .280, 30 HR, 100 RBI's if healthy for a full season. The reason I put Pyrz ahead of Dye is that it breaks up the monotomy of right handed bats. Then you have Crede and Uribe behind them in the lineup. God I'd like that lineup, especially if both Igutchi and Pods could put up .340 OBP's. I'm not greedy, cause I'd just like that overall lineup. I'm hoping this is Kenny's plan and my belief is he has the finaces to do it, but I have mega doubts as to whether it will happen, simply because I've been wrong all offseason, lol.- Bears Draft Pick Poll
QUOTE(MurcieOne @ Jan 2, 2005 -> 07:26 PM) Thats weird.... Kiper doesnt even have Lienart in his top Qb's Kiper I dunno. Taking a guess, but I'm assuming Kiper is only ranking seniors and Leinart is an underclassmen. Actually I guarantee you that cause after looking at that top 5, all of those guys on there are seniors. Rodgers and Leinart hands down are top 5 picks and at the very worse top 10 picks. Orton wouldn't be a bad guy for the Bears to draft if he sticks around into the 4th round and beyond.- lineup...
QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jan 2, 2005 -> 07:23 PM) Swap Rowand with Dye or Uribe most likely, unless Iguchi is signed. I think Kenny knows if he can sign Iguchi it can really help transform the top of the order with Pods and Iguchi up front moving Rowand into a run producing spot, potentially the 3 hole. Then if you can add Pyrzinski you can have him hit behind Konerko in the 6 slot with Dye down in the 7 slot. Obviously Dye wouldn't necessarily be pleased with it, but with all the bats that gives the Sox what I would call a pretty darn good lineup, imo.- Bears Draft Pick Poll
San Fran, Miami and Cleveland are the 3 teams picking ahead of Chicago. I think San Fran will take a QB, potentially Aaron Rodgers although they could also look at Cedric Benson. Miami goes RB or QB and Cleveland probably takes the leftover, although I think Cleveland is most likely to deal down or even take Antrelle Rolle. Cleveland does have a need at both RB and QB though, especially since Garcia struggled. But I don't know if they go QB high after the Couch fiasco.- lineup...
I still think the Sox have two more moves left in them before the regular season. Two moves that will have an effect on the major league roster that is. I think we'll know where the Sox stand by the end of the week.- Bears Draft Pick Poll
QUOTE(MurcieOne @ Jan 2, 2005 -> 07:17 PM) Lienart isnt listed as one of the drafts top 5 Qb's he's believed to be a Ken Dorsey of sorts... not really NFL quality.... I disagree, but then again.. I do love Matt Leinart and want to have a love child with him soooo I heard a few draft experts, Kiper being one of them, talking and he said Leinart and Rogers are sure fire top 5 picks. Kiper may be a bit overrated, but the guy is still one of the very best. Leinart doesn't have the Dorsey syndrome, ie weak arm. And I agree with you Leinart is a quality qb. I think of him as a Mark Brunell type guy.- UPGRADE ISSUES
Now I see one with a little upside down triangle showing up in most spots.- Bears Draft Pick Poll
I think its apparent that the Bears need to trade down. The top 4 picks will be between the two qb's (Leinart and Rogers), Antrelle Rolle, and Cedric Benson none of which fit the Bears drastic needs. If the Bears trade down though, there will definately be a team interested in moving up. I know the Chargers have two picks, but unless they want Rolle I can't see them moving up. Also there is supposed to be an excellent OLB from Texas or somewhere available that will go Top 6 or so. You then have Mike Williams, Clayton, and Braylan Edwards as three very good receivers but I don't think any of them stand above the other and I'm sure I'm leaving plenty of names out. Move down to the teens if possible, select a WR and an OT or even go WR and TE or two WR's because its such a drastic area of need. Regardless I think as of now the Bears need to trade down a few slots. They could also consider cutting a deal with someone like Seattle who has Walter Jones and work out a deal for there 1st rounder and Walter Jones (Bears then sign him to a contract).- UPGRADE ISSUES
QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jan 2, 2005 -> 06:58 PM) There. You have your freaking dots. You guys happy? You may have to clear your cache and hit reload to see the freakin' dots. This was such a fun game to watch. I told wharris on aim that I had a feeling they were going to win. Then he told me MOS and him made a bet and he had 25 points on top of that, lol.- Official Beat the FudgePackers But Need A

QUOTE(AssHatSoxFan @ Jan 2, 2005 -> 03:45 PM) i also dont like the fact that you cant see what threads you have posted in, as before with the little dot EDIT: maybe you can with the little thing in the corner of the icon but not as easy to see as that nice dot I'm with you on that, I think we'll be able to fix that. I'm thinking once the colors change we can create custom graphics and replace the one with the little thing on the corner with like a baseball in the middle or something that makes it blatant that you've posted it in.- UPGRADE ISSUES
QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jan 2, 2005 -> 04:11 PM) Wow, that dark grey is almost hard to look at. O well, Blue is fine for now. I'm with you, I absolutely can't stand the dark grey. On a sidenote, all mozilla issues should be solved with this version of invision board, so I'm assuming it was just a minor bug that was coming up and has now been fixed.- Billy Beane
Interesting piece. I think it would of been more then worth it to give up Bmac for either Hudson or Mulder but I can see where Beane is coming from. I think that both the Braves and Cardinals did good and I think Beane is crazy for trying to dump payroll, especially since he seems to think Jason Kendall was worth increasing payroll for, although considering he gave up Rhodes and Redman it wasn't a major increase, but in general young pitchers at least not all of them pan out and I think the A's are going to quickly find out that Beane isn't as great as everyone thought he was. Its a lot easier to get by with a mistake or two when you have the big 3 plus Harden, thats not going to be the case anymore. They do have some good young arms though. - lineup...
