  1. I think that all depends on the individual. I know when I go to law school I'm probably gonna quit working because of the workload, but right now I still do it, but I make sure I have a job thats flexible with school and I got plenty of time for social events. I don't work nights or weekends
  2. Speaking of Big Jon, what is the deal lately? Is his velocity back, or his breaking stuff on again or what? He has been great lately. When I was down there I heard he had no stuff back at that point. But that could of changed. Up until about two weeks ago Aaron Sele had no stuff and then all of a sudden his velocity jumped 7 MPH (Happened to be the game we played him). Guys take time coming back from an injury and I've noticed some really good starts out of him since I got back, so maybe he's gotten healthy. Either way, this will be 2 years. One full year in the minors so next year is when he should break out. After that I'd say his odds aren't good. He'll be a callup though.
  3. This is gonna be the first time I watch Cotts on TV. I only saw the game in person in Anaheim, so I hope he's on.
  4. And Yes, I believe in the playoffs the Sox can win. They have a very strong rotation, imo, and enough pieces in the pen to get things done. They also have a strong offense that can come up with some big hits. I like this teams chances.
  5. I have a better chance of winning the lottery. Dont even concern yourself with that crap. I'm thinking the same thing. If the Cubs lose their liscense then Kobe's going to jail for life.
  6. When its all set and done I think we'll see Alomar as a roving minor league instructor. I know he'll be in our organization at some level.
  7. Lets just put it this way. Everyone is entitled to your opinions. You may not post that much, but that doesn't mean you can't have your opinion...just like HSC has hers. While we may disagree on her being more negative, that is her right and as a diehard Sox fan she's seen a whole lot as have we. I think the thing is, she's a huge Sox fan, we are huge Sox fans and those are similarities. I'm an optimist so I disagree with her most of the time but I still got tons of respect for her

    DAMN YOU. *Shakes Fist*
  10. LOL.. I only had 2 as well. Removed with no troubles at all, other than some mild pain. Had them pulled on a Thursday and I was out Saturday night. Mine are impacted so I have to have surgery or something like that. He says mine are like too far to the side that you can't get them out normally, so I'm guessing that means impacted. Its kind of weird cause my teeth were always straight and I never needed braces.
  11. Vladamir is gonna have trouble getting that kind of money, so I don't see it happening. My guess is that he ends up in Baltimore alongside Guerro. Just a hunch I have.
  12. Don't have a clue, but I'm including that its something that gets faxed to the front office of each team.
  13. Randy Myers and it screwed the Padres for a few years. I think WU probably remembers this pretty well.
  14. I'd take Livan or Freddy Garcia. For Livan you wouldn't have to give up much, but the Sox would take on a huge salary next year and I don't think they can tie themselves up anymore. In Garcia, you'd have to think the Mariners, a team in competition, would want quality for him. So unless we could get him in a Koch for Garcia swap, I don't see it happenning.
  15. Thats an intriguing idea, but I think it all comes down to whether Jose's option kicks in and that will depend on how Alomar/Crede are doing as well as how mnay lefties he faces. But I'd trade Konerko's salary in a swap to soley free up money to sign Tejada. The money spent on him would be much more valuable, imo. Especially with Thomas/Daubach around. I think if the Sox made that move, they probably could bring Daubach back. Did I miss something, where is Nunez going?
  16. tony i feel your pain believe me i do.. but if it werent a pipe dream and someone was really tryin to put together something awesome here then we would just drop the whole ball and get guys like bonds et el... to play for us for one season to win it all....... patching up this s*** with a stitch here and some glue there isnt exactly throwing together a contending team........hell we wouldnt even be in any race right now if we were still considered the west division.........good thing our division sucks so badly its the only thing keepin us alive......just some food for thought...... And how is it KW's fault that he has f***ing 1/3 the payroll to work with than the Yankees? I am sure he would prefer not inserting bandaids everywhere to improve this team incremently, but given the payroll he has to work with, he cannot outright buy a winner Agreed, if he could just sign a bunch of guys and take on a ton of salary he wouldn't have to do this. I know you dislike KW, HSC, but the guy is making some good moves and I at least have a lot of respect for the guy. He's the first guy in my lifetime of watching the Sox that is willing to go out and try to win it all and isn't afraid. To me Kip Wells is the only guy proving it at the major league level that he dealt. To a lesser extent there is Bradford, but we have Olivo and there is also Josh Fogg. I can't speak of the ones dealt this year, cause they haven't had the time to prove themselves, but I will say Kenny's trades filled holes and have made this team much more competitive.
  17. I agree with you. I never knew a AAAer that could produce was junk. I think to get Sullivan you had to give up value and the Sox did that. Ya, I hoped that they would give up crap, but it ain't gonna happen most of the time. The Sox likely blocked KC, who at the time of this deal had a better record, and then knew they had to reach an agreement and did just that. The big thing now is what happens with the infield, cause the Sox no longer have someone who could step up from the minors next year and play 2nd or 3rd, which means we could be players in the free agent market next year if the Sox aren't willing to reup with Jose or Alomar. By the sound of things, the Sox are gonna position themselves to win it all. If it doesn't happen, they'll get a crapload of picks, etc and then rebuild in a sense to once again try for it all. I'll give KW credit and I only have great respect for Hummel in the minors. The guy is a very solid player who has a good eye and doesn't strike out. What are the Reds going to do with him though? Is he going to play 2nd or ss with Jimenez at the other position?
  18. Guys on the disabled list are often PTBNL. The reason they make them PTBNL is because of that. With the Sox still paying some of his salary, I'm guessing you'll see a backup of some sort get dealt. Maybe a Nik Lubisich at best.
  19. Well, my school is nothing like those two movies, but I know UCSB is. I go up there every month or two to visit my buddy on the basketball team there and the parties are insane. I swear everywhere you look there are absolutely hot girls. It really is like a movie. As far as holidays, don't expect much but BREAKS KICK ASS. I get like 2 months off for XMAS and you get an extended Summer Break too. Depending on the school, you also get a full week off for Thanksgiving which is nice. With schools dances and stuff, I don't think you guys got a football team (This is me guessing) and thats about the only thing that has big social events. If your interested, join some clubs that seem to interest you or something like that. Gives you a way to meet other people with the same interest as you. Intermaurals are also pretty fun.
  20. Well from the school aspect, I recommend going to classes. I think thats the big thing in having academic sucess in college. As far as a personal level, just chat with random people. Once you meet some people, then they'll introduce you to their friends, etc. I'm not in a frat or anything (I got this thing about paying for friends and somehow thats what I think of a frat as ). As far as parties, my school is pretty lame in that department, so I usually go to parties of friends I know. I try to stay away from frat parties: Tons of Guys, not enough females, plus they are pretty lame in my book. As long as your open with others, you'll make a lot of friends and have a ton of fun in college, plus you'll be helping yourself in the long run from a professional standpoint.
  21. I'll be a junior at Cal State Fullerton.
  22. Why don't I just eat Yogurt, or better yet, Jamba JUICE. YUMMM.

When is it? The previews have looked pretty cool.
  24. Ice Cream, but how am I ever going to get cut eating that. Hell, I'm so sore from my gym routine today.
  25. Wow, I could never be that laid back with my class... But then again, you could wear White Sox gear, and then all would be ok... On the subject of school, I was chatting with ElCaballo45 the other day, and he gave me a great idea to use when I finally become a math teacher in a year. Whenever I ask for a student to put a math problem on the board, I will tell him or her "You can put it on the boooooooooard, Yesssssssss!!!" And I'll go into that class one day and throw an eraser at ya.
