  1. From what I’ve seen, the Mets want to send their utility and under/never-developed infielders, an uninteresting demographic and one the Sox don’t need. I think it would be fine to grab promising, but unranked, prospects in the low minors. But I doubt that’s what the Sox are looking for.
  2. Re depth, the Sox have 11 45+ or better ranked prospects, the fewest of the teams reviewed: Brewers 20; Dodgers 18; D’Backs 18; Reds 15. This has been persistent. A lot of reaching and a lot of punting.
  3. It’s possible. The Pythagorean last year was about 70 wins and teams just sometimes come together. But they should absolutely not force it. There are some moves that could move them many steps forward that might hurt the immediate W/L. The priority for Taylor, for example, should be for him to dominate and then trade him for a Mason Miller type of deal given that they don’t want to start him. I am surprised that they are not putting Vasil in the rotation this year. But I’m not sure it’s precluded for the long-term so we’ll see.
  4. If they actually want to compete this year, yea keeping Robert makes sense. But they've been going around in circles with him from building around him, to wanting to move him. to not moving him and on and on. Maybe it's just time to bid him adieu. They really need a comp pick so try to work something out with the Reds. And see if anyone would take Benintendi for 1/2 salary. It's time for him to go too. That's 27.5 freed up.....et tu, Tucker?
  5. I don't see any need or urgency to dump the Sox depth like Quero or Sosa. They are still young players and quality depth is important; having good depth is major upgrade from the last 2 seasons. Mead on this team is just silly (still have no idea why Sox protected him). If they must trade, please do so with full diligence: no more mediocre middle relievers and please stop trading for org guys.
  6. That really is a key aspect to this, though. Meidroth had as good a season as more highly touted rookies like Cam Smith, K. Campbell and Matt Shaw. Sox have several players who did pretty well in 2025 and who should be ready to take a big step. Sox need to find out. Count me in as a Meidroth guy. If the Sox want to sign a good FA, great. But the Sox are likely going to win in the 70s regardless, some mediocre and below FA might crowd out more than they help. I’m not referring really to Murakami (I don’t have much of a read on him). To that end, I I hope some of these guys shag balls in the OF…just to see.
  7. Glad to see it. Houser pitched his tail of for the Sox and he seemed like a real positive and good guy.
  8. How accurate are framing measurements? Has all pitcher-bias been wringed out of them? Anyway, every team can see those framing ratings.so unless an interested team doesn't care about that, then he'll be sold at depressed value. At least wait and see how things function under the auto-zone..
  9. What impresses me is that in 170 pro innings, Alberto has given up 2 home runs. TWO. Skubal gave up 18 in like 200 innings last year. Diaz gave up 4 in 66 innings.
  10. I actually have an answer for that. ts and ys don't work on my personal laptop, so I have to copy and paste. I can' decide on which laptop to buy.
  11. If C Montgomery moves off of SS, try him in CF. He has that Robin yount look. Maybe a Spring look in 2027.
  12. Is Cowles really any different than Capra? Derek Hill? Mead? these guys, and others are all waiver-wire replaceable. Palette may not be the Sox cup of tea - fine. But they had plenty of room to protect him. On a side note, Mead has no power, does not walk, has a high K rate; is a poor defender and has no speed. What is a good/developed/top prospec version of Mead supposed to be able to do?
  13. $1.5 about $340K over-slot.
  14. I guess that article explains why he Sox didn't protect him: lack of extension. they are consistent on that attribute. So be it.
  15. Mead, Cowles, Hudson, Hill et al and you don't protect Palette? Palette was a 2nd rounder only 3 years ago.
  16. I don't it's so crazy. Dodgers had -.7 bWAR in LF last season. I could kind of see Benintendi giving max effort on a good team.
  17. Tampa - no. But I would like to see Vasil start.
  18. He trades middle reliever Wilson and a 5th starter for 2 more org. guys; but when he trades for a middle reliever, he gives up prospects. These trades individually are low-stakes. But this stuff adds up. And he’s the one who should be trading for prospects. Instead, he gives prospects plus 40-man relief to these teams for little of value in return. At this point, he’s Boston and Tampa’s errand boy.
  19. The Marlins, of all teams, have pitching they had no room to protect? I'll go with the hitter from the Jays.
  20. Teel can hit and can play outfield. He's obviously the most valuable. To me Quero passed the eye test at catcher; he's 22. Lots of potential And I still like Lee as a backup. Don't trade any, unless it's for a premium (and a big premium for Teel).
  21. “ And if something should happen to Vargas, they have Curtis Mead, who could take over at third.” What???? On what planet does Mead have an skills at all? Getz needs to stop trading for org guys. Especially from tampa.
  22. I don’t know whether these guys can coach; but I like their resumes/profile. And some coaching churn is always healthy.
  23. In Fegan’s write up, he notes that Littel was traded for a “a pretty good prospect;” that prospect currently sits as Dodgers’ #13 per MLB.com. That trade occurred on 7/30 and Littel had a 2.4 WAR. The next day, the rays call their buddy Chris Getz and acquire 3.0bWAR Adian Houser for 3 org guys Is he at least aware that these other front offices, including his buddies from tampa, are schooling him like this?
