  1. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Nov 21, 2009 -> 08:26 AM) Yup. I've been reading quite a bit about him of late. Seems to be the total package tools wise with unlimited upside. One of the guys at BA (I can't remember who) said that he believes Castro is a top 25 prospect in all of baseball. I personally haven't even heard of this guy other than a couple of weeks ago even he was getting hype. IMO, he's just another overhyped Cubs prospect who will probably be kept by Hendry 3 years too long. I've read about him enough however.
  2. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Nov 20, 2009 -> 03:50 AM) Here's a list of the top 10 White Sox prospects from the Hardball Times. http://www.hardballtimes.com/main/fantasy/...etroit-tigers2/ Looks like they are very down on Mitchell, but very high on Holmberg. I'll see what others think.
  3. Though were getting blown out, Derrick Rose has made his last seven shots in a row. Good to see going forward.
  4. QUOTE (knightni @ Nov 19, 2009 -> 04:50 PM) Posting this here for Ranger: Hook him up Jeremy. He's too lazy to figure it out/put one up.
  5. Congratulations Vinny Del Negro. You received your first technical foul. It's about damn time you actually stood up for your players.
  6. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Nov 19, 2009 -> 11:14 PM) ugh, i hate when the bulls play a game that i can watch and they get blown out, this just completely ruined my night. Well.. the one guy who I was afraid of, who many didn't think he would play, is just killing us. I knew if he plays he were in trouble a while back. And that is Pau Gasol.
  7. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Nov 19, 2009 -> 10:17 PM) Rose needs to stop taking so many jumpers. Doug Collins is right though. Noone can make a damn three (or at times two pointers for that matter) for Rose to try and penetrate to the basket. He's got no lanes since they are all clogged. Rose does though he to just pass the ball more since he's struggling on his jumper.
  8. Jesus... what a beating. Anyone see that sick pass from Kane to set up Versteeg? Awesome.
  9. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Nov 19, 2009 -> 08:45 PM) Brandon Allen isn't a sign, sealed, delivered superstar, i'll never think that Tony Pena was a worthy return, but frankly i'm over it. We've got bigger fish to fry at this point. Spot on, what from I've said here for a while and agreed 100%.
  10. QUOTE (knightni @ Nov 19, 2009 -> 04:36 PM) I'm going to try and get 2 or 3 done tonight after 11. No you will just lie to us like usual and feel proud of it Jeremy.
  11. QUOTE (knightni @ Nov 19, 2009 -> 04:27 PM) Ranger, why don't you get an avatar? How about the Skanberg PH7 picture? Sounds like a plan for Chris. Hell Brandon McCarthy (and his mother) and Jim Bullard had avatars when they used to post here I believe. Neal Cotts and others too.
  12. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Nov 19, 2009 -> 04:23 PM) So does he play for the Yankees or Pirate org? He plays for the Bucos after being traded from the Yankees in the Karstens deal.
  13. C.J. Retherford is 4 for his last 36. (for anyone who sucks in math, that pencils out to a .111 average) OT: But Jose Tabata.. I love that kid. Very good discipline hitter (comming out of the Yankees org) for his age and a good lookin spect. Nice future over there for the Bucos.
  14. QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ Nov 19, 2009 -> 03:41 PM) Don't forget Felix, this is a list of favorites not best or historically important rock acts. If this is a list of best or most important.....yikes!! ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
  15. WOOOO! LP at #28.. Wish they could have made it to top 25, but I'll take it.
  16. QUOTE (smalls2598 @ Nov 19, 2009 -> 01:27 PM) Tim Lincecum repeats as Cy Young in a close vote. Lincecum had 100 points; Carpenter had 94, and Wainwright (who had the most 1st place votes) finished third with 90 points. MLB.com article Keep smokin that pot Timmy!! Kinda sucks between Carp and Wains. Both were so good, that it basically split their vote and their chances to win it. Looks like Lincecum kinda snuck in there and stole it this year. Javier Vazquez happened to take 4th.
  17. Ryan Harvey, Callix Crabbe. One was a bust of a first rounder and the other, a solid minor leaguer.. but I would look into them though if I were the sox. Harvey sucks in discipline, but his power is still very real. I can't believe hes only 25. Some interesting pitchers as well. Clint Everts.. If only his control was as good as his stuff....
  18. QUOTE (JorgeFabregas @ Nov 19, 2009 -> 01:13 PM) He made some comments recently about how he would've been an NFL star if he went that route. I think he was asked if he could help the Browns. He played 1 or 2 years in high school I guess. Yea I believe he was an all state/city WR in high school. He's bulked up more since then, and his athleticism is just too ridiculous to not see it translate. A 6'8 270 (which many say he's really listed) pound man can handle the NFL. The question would be.. can he catch the damn ball consistently as a WR/TE. (and even block, though he's a pretty physical dude) If he really put in the time, I think he could actually be pretty good (though I highly doubt if he will ever be the star, or even the best at his position, like he is in basketball) On some of the terrible teams though.. he would probably be their (or one of) best player(s).
  19. QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Nov 19, 2009 -> 01:08 PM) Also rios in the 9 hole? yes he had a bad stint with us but i have a feeling hes gonna turn it around and were gonna see him planted firmly into the 5 or 6 hole. Not to mention Ozzie has already said (and i fully agree) that he will not have a 10-15 million dollar player batting 9th in his lineup. I expect Rios between 5-7 in the batting order, depending on performance.
  20. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Nov 19, 2009 -> 12:57 PM) A lot of people are going to take what JR said he wrong way. He's not saying we're not going to make any moves, he's just saying we already made our biggest commitment to Peavy. Rios as well. Which I'm sure most sox fans will like to forget about the crap job he did when he was acquired (basically like a FA.. since it was for nothing) and look forward to the next season "back to normal" Rios.
  21. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Nov 19, 2009 -> 12:41 PM) I know musical taste is subjective but the bands are getting progressively worse IMO,there had better be some major rock talent coming up... I'm sure we will see the RHCP, the Beatles, etc.. of the world smoothly round out the list. And if Linkin Park is up there.. I don't care what any of you bastards say cuz I love them.
  22. QUOTE (Felix @ Nov 19, 2009 -> 07:16 AM) Oh god... Green Day. I'm all sorts of sad right now that Soxtalk members apparently enjoy Green Day more than Talking Heads (and Pearl Jam and Soundgarden and Queens of the Stone Age and just about everyone else on this list) Green Day is terrible. I actually forgot about them when making my list.. but luckally I hate that band anyways.
  23. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Nov 19, 2009 -> 12:20 PM) I'm going to have to disagree with that. Mitchell is just more polished and I can't say Trayce has a better skill-set, although he does have more power potential. Both have sick upsides, but both also have a lot to work on that puts the odds of them reaching that ceiling at much lower levels and it is why they both were outside of the top 10. I would say both have the pure potential of a top 10 or so pick though. Well you once said yourself out there in Cali that people were raving about the kid. In fact.. many scouts on writeups said if he would have improved his overall skill set, he probably would had been a top 10 pick in 3-4 years anyways. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 11, 2009 -> 03:07 PM) A lot of people are talking about Thompson and saying he has more upside than our #1 pick.
  24. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Nov 19, 2009 -> 02:40 AM) That's only if I'm around. There's really no point to the chat without me. Nah.. we'd get by. Then again.. I haven't been an active member the last couple of years like the original clan/prime (man I still miss Nuke, hi8is, etc..) days back in 2004-05 like I used to be so I shouldn't talk. OT: Speaking of which (old times), maybe I should bring back the Ben Davis fan club. I still got the PM's of the original members for a good laugh. And yes qwerty, tmar, supersteve, willie etc.. were club members back then. Good competition with aboz and the Buehrle fan club actually.
