QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Sep 9, 2005 -> 09:22 PM) Buehrle has been a bit frustrating to watch at times in the 2nd half of the season. He seem to be giving up a lot of first pitch hits lately. -
QUOTE(GASHWOUND @ Sep 5, 2005 -> 04:27 PM) Maybe we can have the 2-headed monster who pitches every 5th day..Hernendez pitches the first 4 or 5 innings of the game, while BMAC finishes the game...Hey, just sayin:P But you gotta keep puttin BMAC out there..he's shutdown 2 of the top offensive clubs in baseball backTOback. This idea deserves some merit. To my way of thinking, McCarthy's efforts of late should make Ozzie think about a short leash on those days when one of the other starters (principally El Duque and the Count) have 'one of the those days'. The Count has looked great lately, throwing strikes and getting ahead. But I would never be surprised if the confused looking, fall behind Contreras shows up at any given time. And El Duque can always have those 5 inning 100 pitch cliff hangers.

QUOTE(ottawa_sox @ Sep 5, 2005 -> 04:06 PM) One out in the ninth for Detroit - tying runs on 1st and 2nd. Top of the order up - Shelton pinchitting. Oh well - Shelton hits into a game ending double play.

QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 5, 2005 -> 03:13 PM) Who was more enjoyable to watch this season: Jenks, Walker, or Shingo? Depends if you like watching long fly balls or not. -

QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 5 @ 2005 -> 01:37 PM) He'd have the biggest ass of a Little League player since Sean Burroughs. QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Sep 5 @ 2005 -> 01:38 PM) Juan has a huge ass and when he bats it looks even bigger the way he stands at the plate. QUOTE(knightni @ Sep 5, 2005 -> 01:39 PM) These are definitely personal attacks. Not necessarily. You need a big hammer to drive a big nail. -

QUOTE(ottawa_sox @ Sep 5 @ 2005 -> 05:24 PM) Of all the individual player bashings, I find this kind of attittude, concerning PK, the most perplexing. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 5, 2005 -> 01:25 PM) I'm pretty sure he was being sarcastic. Yeah, you're probably right. Boy do I ever feel smart. :banghead Despite my being 'in left field', I've never understood malicious Konerko bashing. -

QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 5, 2005 -> 12:53 PM) He's been picked off more this season than any player I've ever seen since I've been watching baseball. He's also gotta be one of the most aggressive baserunners you've seen. -

QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Sep 5, 2005 -> 12:31 PM) Yeah toping out at 92, he's f***ing dominant. What is McCarthy's fastball topping out at? -
QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Sep 4, 2005 -> 05:08 PM) Dmitri is 1-for-the-season against the Sox. That's 15 games, 1 hit. I thought yesterday after Buehrle got him for the third time, he looked as frustrated as any hitter I have ever seen.

Well, at least it's gone from 6.5 to 7 with an Indian loss.

QUOTE(the southside tiger @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 11:31 PM) You cant criticize the great Jon Garland either. Sure you can. It's best to take a civilized approach while doing it though.
-
QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 11:30 PM) Remember how the Twins sent Santana to the minors to specifically work on his change? Did McCarthy have to do something like that? They discovered that he had lost his 12-6 arm angle. It negatively affected his location, deception, stuff and confidence. When he made the adjustments back to 12-6, he said it felt right - like he felt in the past.
-
QUOTE(WhiteSox311 @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 10:46 PM) Wait What!?! thats like going to the game and not being able to talk s*** to the players...I mean come on even they dont kick you out of the park unless u like threaten to kill the player or piss on his face or something 'Coward' and 'without balls' is small minded. It reduces the standard of a website that is seriously trying to provide an opportunity for intelligent discourse. Why be common, when with a little effort we could be so much more.
-
QUOTE(daa84 @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 10:36 PM) yeah, i hope ozzie lets him go til he gets touched up for a run, If he does. only 80 some pitches thru 7 so he should be good to go MLB.com has him at 101 pitches through 7. Apparently no-one is warming though.
-
QUOTE(WhiteSox311 @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 09:52 PM) whos the youngest to ever throw a nono or perfect game Wilson Alvarez must be a candidate.
