QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 27, 2009 -> 08:01 AM) I think Michael Jordan said it best when he said that his path was paved by Johnny Red Kerr. Without him, Jordan wouldn't have been possible. RIP Red. I dont quite understand or believe that, but regardless what a sad day for the Bulls. The weird thing is both guys were starting to bug me towards the end but now that they are gone, Im a lil crushed.

QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Feb 27, 2009 -> 07:27 AM) Dan Snyder strikes again. It is really unreal how he just throws top dollar at everything in sight. I thought he was supposed to be some great businessman How is it the Redskins are able to throw so much money around than any other team seemingly with a salary cap. It was just a pipedream but doesnt mean I wasnt imagining a Tommie Harris/Albert Haynesworth duo terrorizing QB's. -
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 26, 2009 -> 11:16 AM) Yup. No problem with that either. Hi, Indymac, I'd like to open an account. Oh don't worry, I'm sure you guys are safe, I don't need to care about the FDIC limit... Im sorry you think its dumb, i just dont want to invest all my money in one thing incase something goes wrong. I know that the return being offered would be hard to pass up, but Scotty Eyre was making what 5ish million a year with the cubs, I think Id invest 2/3 of that into the investment and have the rest spread out among banks and whatnot.

I think it would of been fine if Dikta was replaced with one of the following 3: Red Granger, George Halas, or Shoeless Joe

I have no problem with Nix stealing the job from Getz. If Owens/Anderson both struggle I really think we would be better off with lillibridge at SS where he is supposedly a defensive wiz and Alexi in CF though. But it would probably at the begining atleast be other way around. -
Why is it that the law allows juveniles to be trialed as adults. Whats the point of having an age that distinguishes a juvenile from an adult if we are allowed to circumvent it.

Kind of random, but considering Ben Gordon seems like he is gone from the bulls. What type of NBA prospects are Gerald Henderson and Dar Tucker? -
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 25, 2009 -> 09:17 PM) So let's see, he's making double digit returns off of his investments with the scammer, and as of summer 2006 his nice real estate has gone up 50% in the last 5 years. What could go wrong?! Regardless of the return your getting, especially with the kind of money he is making.... should be money that is safely set aside, when your making millions of dollars a year, is it 2 hard to put 1 million in banks?

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Feb 25, 2009 -> 08:02 PM) That piece of s*** is so overrated. Plenty of better choices out there. I think Dikta is slowly growing more and more out of favor in Chicago, he used to be a legend and now I think most Bear fans are annoyed by him increasingly so.

QUOTE (rangercal @ Feb 25, 2009 -> 09:54 PM) Mark Cuban still doesn't have any regrets about Jason Kidd/Devin Harris deal http://mavsblog.dallasnews.com/archives/20...ny-regrets.html Yeah that trade never made much sense. It was basicly a move just to make a move because Kidd isnt good anymore. My friend who is a big Mavericks fan was super pissed when it happened. -

The only thing Paxson failed to deliver on in the deadline was unloading Hinrich, if he did that and got expiring contracts in return id be behind him 100%. That being said, this Bulls team is definitely playoff quality now, and should be next season as well enough time for Paxson to make his big splash in the 2010 free agent market. If he fails that off-season to land a big player, he has to be gone. -
QUOTE (scenario @ Feb 25, 2009 -> 12:07 AM) Close... but it was actually 39 and 2nd in MILB. Player - Home Runs 1 D. McPherson 42 2 Carter STO 39 3 Stanton GBO 39 4 Cruz OKL 37 5 Ka'aihue OMA 37 Didnt Carter smack 5 in the playoffs though which would indeed give him 44.

the depth of this team after these trades is just so awesome now. Hinrich/Salmons/Miller and even Thomas are all starter material and we have them coming off the bench. Than with the emergence of Noah/Thomas like a month ago our frontcourt isnt seemingly pathetic as it used to be. -

QUOTE (MurcieOne @ Feb 24, 2009 -> 03:48 AM) Marvin Harrison is going to be released in the next day or two... think he would come to the bears? I'm guessing not, because were not really ready to contend (on paper) and he's from Philly and could play with McNabb rather than Orton... not a hard choice there. Also, If I've offended Marvin Harrison in anyway I apologize and pray that he wont use karate moves on me, or shoot me. It was rumored earlier that Bears were interested in Torry Holt, he is getting older but I wouldnt mind having Holt around for 2-3 years. -

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Feb 23, 2009 -> 01:18 PM) Hayward and Nicks both look like good guys for the Bears to target in the 1st round. I would than look at a tackle that fell in the 2nd round. I dont think Heyward would be a good investment in the first round, Nicks id gamble on. Id also be willing to take one of the stud OT in the draft if they fell to us. -

unbelievable, if Illini lose a huge part is going to be by a nobody named Hill. -
Will the AL Central survive the next 10 years?

I have no problem with the expansion of teams in MLB if there are cities that can support them. That being said I think they should find a way to get the Rangers in the central if this happens. -

If the Bulls find a way to deal Hinrich, I will definitely have a new found optimism for their future. Until now it seemed like we were going to be stuck in some kind of limbo. -

Don't know what the illini are doing, but they are in dangerous position to lose this game. They should have pretty much done enough to already get in the tourney, but Im starting to think this might be a one and done team. -
QUOTE (greg775 @ Feb 17, 2009 -> 01:57 AM) My bold prediction is no soxtalk fan will post "this game is over" the moment we fall behind 3 runs in a game in the game threads. Please people, just don't do it!!! You got to believe. Games are not over til they are ova. Why does it matter if someone makes that post, it has no outcome on the game.... we can just ridicule them and blame them for it if something like that occurs.

Im just going on the assumption nothing will happen because the combo of Paxson/Reinsdorf has been brutal. If the rumors of Paxson retiring/firing after break is true, JR needs to find someone he can actually trust to make the right move and stay the f*** out of the way. -
MLB possibly to help out Type A Free Agents
GoodAsGould replied to Kyyle23's topic in The Diamond Club
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 16, 2009 -> 11:42 AM) If you were say, the Brewers or the Angels and the Yankees had just overwhelmed your offers for the top line FA's you had, you might change your tune. Its not like we never lost out on a player before, I think they should just get rid of arbitration period, and if you lose a f/a depending on what he was valued at should recieve a compensation pick in the supplemental round. So type A would be after first round, type B after 2nd, and so on. -

GoodAsGould replied to Kyyle23's topic in The Diamond Club
They should just change the rule, teams shouldnt be penalized for improving their teams, if you lose a f/a and its type A should just get a supplemental pick after 1st round.
