  1. how fast is Lumsden's fastball... I know ive heard a lot about him and everything but he was always hurt b4 and in spring training I dont remember it being that fast.
  2. QUOTE(maggliopipe @ Jun 8, 2006 -> 09:16 PM) A little off topic, but this is from the SI article from earlier in the thread. If they'd take E Santana for Crawford, they'd take BMac. I don't like the idea of trading him but hell, if you could land Crawford and his contract, do it. not neccesarily... Santana has actually been starting in the majors unlike B-Mac in the pen and Santana has better pure stuff as well.
  3. I have to say Detroit because besides us they seem like the only team willing to spend money. And they will have a lot of money to spend when Percival and Pudge come off the books.....Not 2 mention all those young studs in Bonderman, Verlander, Zumaya, and now Miller. Also Rodney looks like a beast out of the bullpen and I think is the real deal. Also Ive always been a Mike Maroth fan and while he might not be as good as he was b4 getting hurt I think he is a pretty good pitcher.
  4. I like listening to the Mike North show.... its entertaining and he gets a lot of good interviews. Thats not to say I agree with North's views I almost disagree on all accounts but I still enjoy the show. Its possibly the only thing I enjoy on the score anymore.....
  5. it seems Whisler has finally figured things out in High A.... I hope he gets promoted in the near future. Isnt the organization really high on him for some reaosn.
  6. I was sad to see Gio Gonzalez and Chris Young go... and after that I decided not to attach myself to our prospects sooo much. So no I wouldnt be pissed if we lost Lumsden... unless we got only trash in return.
  7. ive actually switched from the Score to ESPN 1000.... although Im not a heavy listener really anyways mostly only when im driving and sometimes b4 i go to bed.
  8. When the playoffs start you really only need 3 good starters and than probably at least an avg. 4th one. So taking that into consideration obviously 2 of those 3 will be Contreras and Buehrle. Than im guessing the 3rd will be either Garcia or Vazquez(depending on whose traded) and that puts either Garland or B-Mac(again depending on whose traded) in bullpen which both are fine in. Than you go in the playoffs with possibly the best offense in the majors.. 2 top of the rotation starters and another above avg. starter and at least an adequete 4th starter. For the bullpen we have Jenks and Cotts who in a big game i rely on both. I also think while B-Mac has struggled in his bullpen role now pitching in a playoff atmosphere id be happy with him same with Garland. So you have the great offense... a pitcher that will get you into the 7th inning and 3 guys you rely on out of the bullpen in any situation. A course im getting ahead of myself a little.... who knows maybe Jenks or Cotts completely blow up or get injured..... or maybe Politte gets his s*** together and turns into his form from last season or maybe another RP steps up or even we might trade for a bp arm.
  9. that would be pretty amazing. With Tejeda added to the lineup it would put us up there at the top with one of the best offenses and we would still have 5 good starting pitchers to go with. Also with how Phillips and Haeger have performed in AAA I think assuming we keep at least 1 of them they are good enough insurance incase one of our starters go down.
  10. QUOTE(Steff @ Jun 6, 2006 -> 12:59 PM) All... I was asking nuke
  11. these people? is that all people who cheat the system or just the black ones?
  12. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ May 21, 2006 -> 11:57 PM) They obviously could -- but history shows that when the lower seed fails to close-out the higher seed at home, they usually end up losing the series. The Lakers and Cavs have found that out. Yeah but the difference is the Lakers and Cav arent near the calibur type of team as the Mavericks. The Mavs should of been the number 2 seed. The Spurs might win... they probably are the favorites... but if I put money down id bet on the Mavericks in game 7.
  13. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ May 21, 2006 -> 10:03 PM) LOL. Did he guarantee another win today? Anyway, the Cavs had their chance to finish them off. They blew it. I see the Mavs suffering the same fate tomorrow. I dont think so with the Mavs... They will have Terry back which makes them a lot more dangerous... i see them beating the Spurs.
  14. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ May 20, 2006 -> 11:17 PM) I agree with the end of that statement completely, and its just another example of Dusty being a horrible manager. It tells the player that Dusty Baker doesn't give a s*** about them, only himself looking good. Even if he doesn't believe it, a good manager backs up his players in a situation like that. Instead Dusty just threw his best hitter under the bus. Eh the one thing Dusty does is he doesnt throw his players under the bus. No matter how bad they messup on the field like Jaque Jones getting picked off at 2nd twice he doesnt really call them out. While Ozzie probably would of ripped the s*** out of Jones in the media. Dusty Baker is not a good manager but to accuse him of throwing his best hitter under the bus is dumb..... especially when the video is so clear and Barrett is admitting he f***ed up.
  15. QUOTE(RME JICO @ May 18, 2006 -> 07:13 PM) A big reason why some teams have losing records is because they have played the Sox and Tigers. So at this point it is too early to use schedules for or against teams. Leyland has them playing inspired baseball. Everyone knew the Tigers would score runs, but I don't think anyone expected their pitching to be leading the league. I still cannot believe that Maroth was a 21 game loser in 2003 and now has an ERA that is less than half his career average. Will he keep that up? Bonderman lost 19 in 2003 and Robertson lost 16 last year, and I just don't see these guys maintaining this for a full year. You cant blame those pitchers for their loss records that year. The tigers were just horribly bad and at the time those guys were young and at the 1st year or 2 in their major league career. Almost any pitcher begining his career would of had 15 plus losses on that team.
  16. QUOTE(Heads22 @ May 18, 2006 -> 04:31 AM) Robert Valido if he gets his head out of his butt. Chris Getz and Valido could be our table setters.

    Mono....

QUOTE(DABearSoX @ May 17, 2006 -> 03:43 PM) Damn those chicks in your Avy look like they are passing Mono.....is one of them Chisoxfan's sister? He got it from the Phillies message board.
  18. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ May 17, 2006 -> 02:17 PM) That guy is AMAZING....him and Dirk are the only 2 players in the league right now IMO that can play all 5 positions and play them at least pretty well. Just a couple of amazing talents, and Marion was born in Illinois (Waukegan) so of course, I approve of "The Matrix". Also I'd like to point out that these NBA Playoffs are an exposing point in the sense that for the NBA haters.....if you can't enjoy watching these playoffs, you are not a basketball fan. These games are amazing to watch and if you are going to hate on them, you clearly just don't like this sport, the end. Dirk and Matrix cant play all 5 positions....Apparently you never saw Magic Johnson..... thats a person who can play all 5 positions.
  19. Why vote for 3 when 2 is basicly the same but has us at least winning a couple. Because the point of getting to the post-season is to give you a chance to win the WS.
  20. I dont see a team going to Las Vegas and dont think there would be as many fans there to support it anyways. Also I dont think San Antonio is neccesarily ahead of us either. The NFL failed twice in LA hasnt it whats the point going for a 3rd attempt?
  21. QUOTE(Cuck the Fubs @ May 17, 2006 -> 03:38 AM) No. 20 years after, you're going to see fights of Cubs-Sox proportions if that were to happen No you wouldnt.... The Bears will be so much more the dominant team that it would take whatevr the 2nd team is to win 5 straight superbowls to start getting close to popularity. Thats not saying the city couldnt support the team. Im sorry but not everyone has some kind of anger issues like yourself and hates another team more than you like your own team.
  22. QUOTE(Cuck the Fubs @ May 16, 2006 -> 07:28 PM) Dealing with the Packers is enough. I don't want to deal w/ a second football team in the city, the way we have to deal w/ the Cubs AND the Twins. Except this time the Bears would be take the cubby role and we would all blindly follow them lol . I wouldnt mind a 2nd team though...Football is the most entertaining sport to watch and maybe with 2 teams in the city ill be able to find a way to get to a live game.
  23. Ozzie is completely misusing Logan. When he has worked a lot he has shown he can go out there and get people out. When he has a huge amount of time off he struggles.... Ozzie needs to either use Boone more consistently or he needs to be sent down.
  24. QUOTE(qwerty @ May 16, 2006 -> 05:28 AM) Dallas Most of soxtalk was positive the spurs were winning the championship this year. Ive been rooting for Dallas.... partly because my friend is a huge mavericks fan. Spurs havent impressed me much so far in the playoffs.
  25. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ May 16, 2006 -> 01:55 AM) That flagrant call was stupid seeing as Snow was actually going for the ball. The contact was exaggerated by the fact that both were going full speed at the point of contact, but Snow was going for the ball and in reality didn't hit him any harder than you'll see on a typical foul. That call was an embarassment, however fortunately it didn't affect the outcome of the game. Lets not over-exagerate things..... You could argue if it was the right call but saying that is just dumb. And thats fine if you think he was going for the ball but the fact is he didnt get close to touching the ball.
