  1. ...... Football in Texas is a way bigger deal than basketball is in Indiana. The poster who said Indiana will always be bad made a ridiculous statement but still there is no comparison between the states level of interest in each sport.
  2. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Oct 3, 2011 -> 12:51 PM) To answer your first question, there is no way a 1-loss SEC team gets in over an undefeated BCS conference team, and I'd give it about a 50/50 chance that such a team would get in over Boise State. Boise did go trounce an SEC team, albeit not an elite one, in a virtual road game, so the schedule strength argument is getting harder to make. As for Michigan being 11th, as unlikely as it might be for them to run the table, it's even less likely for Illinois and Kansas State. Georgia hasn't been good and now tcu having a down season kind of ruins boise's SOS. I don't think u can put them ahead of a one loss SEC team.
  3. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Oct 3, 2011 -> 01:04 AM) I really don't think anybody in the Big Ten is capable of slowing down that Wisconsin offense. Yesterday was a great comeback win for Illinois, but their defense showed some leaks that could turn into outright waterfalls against Wisconsin. Illinois is still capable of winning any game on their schedule other than that one though IMO. I posted this thought here to some resistance a few weeks back, but it's true. I am more inclined to think Clemson will trip up than Oklahoma AND Oklahoma State, but it's very likely 3 BCS conference teams will go undefeated this year. Boise State has no shot at sneaking into the title game this year. If I was putting odds on it id go 80-20 in favor of Wisconsin, be higher if was in Madison. The game that will really matter is Michigan, Illinois should beat every other team but Michigan game is going to make a huge difference in what kind of bowl game they get.
  4. Marion Barber already proved more useful than Chester ever was, a goaline touchdown!
  5. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Oct 2, 2011 -> 09:22 PM) Take someone like Andre Reed who had 88 td in his career. Hester has 26. Sterling Sharpe had 65 and he was never even nominated for the HOF. I don't how you put Hester in. That's like comparing a catchers stats to a 1b, if hester goes in as a kr/pr it's fine.
  6. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 1, 2011 -> 10:39 PM) How many times has an option team won the Big Ten? You can generate alot of running yards at times, but the offense just isnt very effective in the conference. Michigan racked up alot of yards with their offense until conference play started and then their numbers went down considerably. Illinois has had the luxury of several NFL running backs. Not too mention Denard Robinson is much more dynamic than Scheelhause.
  7. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 1, 2011 -> 09:23 PM) Well the Huskers simply arent that great. Martinez throws like a girl and the run option crap doesnt work all that well in the Big Ten. Yeah when Northwestern can shutdown the run option I think that shows it isn't legit unless you have first round talent at RB position(Rashard Mendenhall).
  8. Next week Michigan vs northwestern should show the illini how good they really are. If Illinois beats Ohio state though almost sure thing for at least a 10 win season.
  9. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Oct 1, 2011 -> 12:25 PM) Cowley was the first to report of the rift between Guillen and Williams. The only reason he is not believed is because he gets his information from Guillen's side exclusively. There was a rift the moment he was hired, hell didn't they end up having an argument during Ozzie's interview? Even when things were going good KW/Ozzie seemingly were always on thin ice.
  10. Hopefully 2 things come from this game, Illini start playing offense in first half and Ford gets less playing time.
  11. Ford looks fat and slow, I'm not sure he shouldn't just be a fb.
  12. I thought the home team is supposed to get advantage by refs lol.....
  13. Seems like mike martz is running the illini offense right now.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 1, 2011 -> 08:09 AM) last night I flipped on the end of Johnny Pneumonic. It was f***ing hysterical. That is all I flipped on Escape from LA, it was terrible but yet I still watched it all the way through. That is all.
  15. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 1, 2011 -> 06:34 AM) My "guy on 35th" LOL says its Martinez Are you being serious or not cant tell with the "LOL" I know you claim to have some inside knowledge in past that has been pretty accurate. If true I think everyone pretty much gets the guy they wanted which isn't often the Wsox do what this board wants ahead of time.
  16. I'd decline option on Frasor and offer him and Buehrle arbitration. Frasor didn't impress me much the time he was here but I don't think he hurts us at all if he accepts and if not draft picks.
  17. QUOTE (knightni @ Oct 1, 2011 -> 08:38 AM) Better game this weekend: Nebraska - Wisconsin or Alabama - Florida? Illinois - Northwestern
  18. I find it funny people blast cubs fans when we share the bhawks, bears, and bulls...... So everything negative about them you have to include with our other teams most of us root for. I just don't think Chicago has the classiest fan base in general.
  19. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Sep 30, 2011 -> 09:11 AM) You wouldn't consider OSU a rival? I would put Illinois, Wisconsin and purdue as the buckeyes biggest bball rivals. I'd say Wisconsin, Michigan state, osu, and illini are all each others top rivals.
  20. I lost most of my respect for Ozzie when he couldn't control his kids at all.
  21. Our bullpen was one of team strengths I think, plus what exactly was historic about the tigers run.
  22. I would think TCU/Boise going to the Big12 would benefit everyone involved, but I have no clue what I'm talking about.
  23. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 29, 2011 -> 09:15 AM) You guys should stop using the Netscape browser. It's outdated. I use Google Chrome and it happens to me sometimes
  24. QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Sep 28, 2011 -> 10:59 PM) .....And then they should have sued the Marlins for tampering and got them to pay off Ozzie's final year. I'm sure they could have provided witnesses/proof that they were tampering and claimed they had to fire Ozzie because their tampering poisoned the relationship between Ozzie and the White Sox organization. So you wanted the wsox to commit blackmail to get Logan Morrison?

QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 26, 2011 -> 08:56 PM) Two and a Half Men is unwatchable now. Last season wasn't very good either, I think the show has just run it's course even before the Sheen fiasco.
