  1. What is your favorite word? Bush...as in..."That's bush league. That's bush." What is your least favorite word? Slacks What turns you on? A nice pooper. What turns you off? Egotistical people. What sound or noise do you love? European car horns. What sound or noise do you hate? Sirens. What is your favorite curse word? Sonuvab****!!! What profession other than yours would you most like to attempt? Latex salesman...okay, architect. What profession other than yours would you least like to attempt? Teacher. I give all teachers much respect for dealing with brats all day. If heaven exists, what would you like to hear God say when you arrive at the pearly gates? Ohhhh, you're THAT GUY!!!
  2. QUOTE(Soxy @ May 3, 2007 -> 10:18 AM) Not being married, I don't know how soon people should date. But I definitely wouldn't date someone until the divorce was finalized (and probably after a couple of months had lapsed there). But maybe I'm just old fashioned. What if it was a contentious divorce? Or perhaps it's just taking longer for some legal reason? Or if one of the parties had disappeared? (The last one happened. I was in court waiting for my name to be called and there was a guy before me who's wife left him and he had absolutely no idea where she was. Dead, alive, with someone else, whatever...he had no clue.)
  3. QUOTE(Texsox @ May 3, 2007 -> 10:06 AM) I guess it also depends on if you are serving up the papers or receiving? That only matters for how quickly you get laid.
  4. Late to the party again: 35, 6'1"
  5. I'd just use her to get to Jessica.
  6. As someone who has some experience on this topic, I can give you this most definite answer... ...it depends. My ex thought it would be ok to date someone else while married...also while NOT telling me we were getting a divorce. I dated someone soon after she left...which was, how shall I say this nicely, idiotic. BUT, the first REAL time I spent with my current wife was the night before I went to court for the divorce. Now, I wasn't very nice to her after about 8 months of dating, but that was all worked out and now we have been married for a year. Bottom line, there isn't one answer. It's always going to hurt the other person when you (the universal you...not YOU Tex) starts dating again. But, if you meet the right person right away, who's to say it's wrong? Personally, even though it worked out for me, I'd err on the side of caution.
  7. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ May 1, 2007 -> 10:52 AM) ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ No contest. I actually hate eating onions, but I'll eat that loaf at Hackney's any day of the week. Great minds think alike!!! I miss Hackney's.......
  8. I would much rather force a guy like Odom or Walton to step up and beat me than Kobe.
  9. QUOTE(hitlesswonder @ Apr 30, 2007 -> 09:36 AM) The DRays would want 3 young pitchers. They don't need position playesrs. They would ask for a closer , I'm guessing MacDougal or Jenks, a younger relief arm like Aardsma/Sisco/Logan, and a good starting pospect like Gonzalez. Baldelli's contract is a dream and in the offsseason the DRays wanted Saltallamachia, Yunel Escobar, and Chuck James for him. It might not take a package that good, but something close to it to get him. They would want at least one ML ready arm to go along with Kazmir. I think any deal would have to include a young starter, or someone who can start. So, it would have to include Danks or Masset and I'm not giving up either one of those. So until the D-Rays get their collective heads out of their arse all of their players are staying put. At least not coming to the Sox.
  10. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Apr 27, 2007 -> 02:49 PM) With FlaSoxxJim, there's always extra O's. Mrs. FlaSoxx always wears a smile. (Of course, that may have something to do with my regularly having to chase a half-dressed Ben Davis out of my house by threatening him with a large wooden spoon.) That's not Ben Davis...that's Miguel OlivO.
  11. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Apr 27, 2007 -> 02:33 PM) Greg Walker is planning on screwing up all of our hitters for life. Oh. . . wait, nevermind. . . I told FlaSoxxJim that he had one too many "x" in his screen name. He kissed me. I thanked my lucky stars there weren't any extra "o's."
  12. I just hope Jeffrey can get some loans or grants if he's not going to be a scholarship player.
  13. Fred Manrique emailed...he said he still can't drink any kind of Juice.
  14. I played disc golf with Steve Sax. He kept missing high.
  15. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Apr 26, 2007 -> 10:27 AM) Danks was awesome IMO last night. his control hurt him in the 1st, but after that he looked great. His curve changed from a sweeper to lefties to a hammer to righties. Ive never seen him do that before and throw it for strikes. His straight change barely drops at all, that is almost impossible to judge as a hitter. This kid is going to be something. Please tell me you are nailing the chick in your avatar every night...and if not... What? I'm sorry. Yes, Danks battled his butt back. I just wish...wow, I love dirndls...sorry, they White Sox could score some runs for him.
  16. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 04:40 PM) The trick is, to have him stock the program with talent, and then ditch him for a top-flight X's and O's coach. Think Florida and Urban Meyer. ...I'm only half-kidding. That really ought to be the plan, because even in his two years here, I've seen more fundamental coaching errors than you would expect to find in the high school ranks. EDIT: However, in all fairness, I believe if you are able to match Zook up with some young, up-and-coming offensive wiz-kid (i.e. Lane Kiffin, Sarkisian, Jon Gruden) then you have something to work with--that scenario could work. Because, we all know Zook is an amazing recruiter, he appears to do it cleanly, and he works very, very well with defensive backs...match Zook up with one of those types of guys and then you may have a perennial contender in the Big Ten, which is all could be asked of a coach at Illinois. Agreed. As long as he can get out of the way...Illinois should be able to compete. And Guenther, especially after the Bill Self fiasco, rewards loyalty. As long as Zook improves and wins, he can pretty much write his own ticket. (unless he wants to leave or we change ADs)
  17. Rudy Law called me last night. He was soliciting money for a charity supporting interracial marriage. I hung up on him. 5 minutes later, Vance Law called.
  18. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Apr 26, 2007 -> 10:09 AM) Dewon Day is sexy as hell. Apparently his fastball has improved to go along with that nasty slider. I believe that he should be ready for MLB play by the second half, if needed. Can he play some outfield?
  19. On a positive note...after that first inning, Danks battled the rest of the time he was in there. Obviously didn't have his best stuff, but fought through it. And Logan wasn't all that bad. I thought Orel Hershiser's comments about being afraid of the name players as a rookie pitcher was right on target last night. Danks didn't look as good vs. 1-4 than he did against 5-9. He made Thames look horrible...and I-Rod look like a god. BA missed about 5 meatballs last night. It's time to send him down. Let him get his confidence back...and I am a BA sympathizer...but last night was it for me.
  20. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Apr 26, 2007 -> 09:35 AM) BA needs to be in AAA figuring out his swing. Right now its notchy and too mechanical. Terrero is better suited for 1-2 appearances per week than BA. He missed about 5 meatballs from Durbin and Jones last night. It's also looping and long. I was screaming at the TV to pinch hit for him, but then I remembered Dye wasn't going to play so they didn't have anyone left on the bench...crap. Watching Zumaya blow up was worth watchign that game tho.
  21. I have to say...whether he can coach or not...whether he can recruit or not...Zook has been great for the state of Illinois. Taking a Spring game to Chicago...going on a six-city tour...I can see him being here for a loooong time as long as he keeps recruiting and can consistently get to higher end bowl games (5th place and above). Maybe can't coach his way out of a paper sack, but he's gettin' the word out about Illinois football!
  22. I saw McKay Christiansen wearing a white shirt, tie and nametag. No...really... See...he's a Mormon.
