QUOTE(BobDylan @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 06:43 PM) I've gone through a roll in one wipe before. I devour toilet paper. I'm speechless. I'm without speech.

I think he put a dent in the sign.

I'm not saying you guys are wrong but... Yes, he was a RBI man in Japan. Yes, he wanted to be that guy here. Last time I checked, it's only April and he has been adjusted to hitting second for what...three years now. Gooch is an excellent hitter and he would have adjusted to batting seventh if Ozzie would have left him there. Or could have left him there. As long as he's hitting, I don't care where they bat him, but to say he can't hit 7th is wrong.

I wonder if anyone will protest his funeral? Naaahhhhhh....

QUOTE(Jimbo @ Apr 23, 2007 -> 12:46 PM) Kansas had a spring game...people showed up and pondered why they are wasting their time. Im sure our coach eyed the food vendors as opposed to the actual game. I'm sorry, did Bill Self wake up on the wrong side of your bed this morning?

Don't we lower the flag to half-staff on Memorial Day? If not, we should and then it does what it's supposed to do. Although I agree with Mid-Buff, too.

Two words...Josh Lewin. Zzzzzzzzzzzz....

Jim Thome doesn't get walks...he scares the ball away from the plate.

Don't give up on Buehrle for '08 and beyond folks. I'm not saying he's coming back for sure, but if the Sox don't re-sign Dye...I think Iguchi and Buehrle are coming back. Players like playing in Chicago...and it seems they generally like to play for Ozzie and Coop and each other, etc. This team looks to have the most fun of any team in the league (except for last year, when they were pressing). Now that the pressure is off again, they are having fun again. Either way, I love the guy and no matter where he goes, he will always be a White Sox to me. PS...Think they have a ride board in the clubhouse?

QUOTE(Jenksismyb**** @ Apr 19, 2007 -> 03:50 PM) I would agree, but at the same time in this particular instance, the guy should not have been given the opportunity to act. He had a series of events that pointed to something like this. Obviously who knows how many people are currently diagnosed or committed to a mental health facility that will eventually act on it (probably a small, small number) but you could at least keep them unarmed. Soxy- I understand what you're saying but we're limiting it to severe cases. Again, just because it's difficult to define 'severe' doesn't mean it can't be done. There are fine lines in a lot of the law but we still make that determination. We'd have to research and debate what that line is, but it can be found. I just feel like if you've gotten to that degree, where you've had someone put a judgement against you saying you're a danger to yourself, we're you've been ordered to a mental health facility, those types of serious mental illness problems should somehow be documented and available to gun shop owners to keep the guns away from them. As for fear of any career problems down the road, are these people really going to eventually run a Fortune 500 company? Or are they going to be cleaning the toilets at the state rest stop? I don't think that's going to be a major problem at all. I don't know if it was mentioned in this thread, but Cho Seung-Hui was committed to a mental hospital, but it was voluntary. Meaning, he committed himself. And by law, at least in Virginia, that meant he COULD get a gun. People have breakdowns every day, whether it's tragedy, stress or whatever. Shoot, I had situational depression when I got divorced, does that mean I should be on some list somewhere? I don't think so...I'm fine now. *face ticks*

I hope some members of the advertising industry read this thread, because they are going to be jumping up and down with joy... "They remembered! They remembered!"

What I like about the signing of Alexander is how well rounded the class is. Got one for each position and a couple that can play multiple positions. Plus the fact that Alexander has playing experience so he's not relying on as many freshmen like he did last year.

QUOTE(The Critic @ Apr 18, 2007 -> 04:02 PM) Honestly, I'd rather just be forgotten. ...which will be NO PROBLEM around here... Hey, Critic's back!!! How long have you been gone?

QUOTE(Jenksismyb**** @ Apr 19, 2007 -> 10:52 AM) Why does there need to be a reason, be it music, video games, movies, or our culture? Because when tragedy occurs, people need a reason. There HAS to be a "why?" I don't know if you've ever personally been through something horribly negative (I hope not) but I have and that was the very first thing I said, "Why?" If it weren't for that, we wouldn't have religion. We wouldn't have science. Trying to find a reason, whether in tragedy or in regular everyday life is what makes us "higher" life forms.

Ahhh...that I didn't know.

Yeah...Really.

QUOTE(Beltin @ Apr 13, 2007 -> 11:13 AM) If you are going to hate Mike Boddicker, shouldn't Mike Flanagan and Tito Landrum be on your list as well? Never...ever...EVER mention Tito Landrum again... That sunuvab****!!!!

Bill Laimbeer and Dino Ciccarelli.

Nope, I think the Raiders still play there.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 05:07 PM) The whole design of the stadium is retarded. The outfield shape, the foul territory, the whole unused upper deck. Ahhh...multiuse stadiums.

White Sox 3-4-5 hitters 6-13 - 2B, HR, 2 BB, 3 runs, 4 RBI... not a bad day.

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 05:02 PM) Now I stick with Aardsma. He has had some time off, Thor has been inconsistant, and both Jenks and Mac are over worked. +1

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 04:55 PM) Alright, so what does Ozzie do? Aardsma again? Masset? Thornton? If Paulie drives in a few more runs, Aardsman to finish. If not, I say MacDougal.

Make him throw two...Erstad can handle the bat pretty well.

QUOTE(GoSox05 @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 04:41 PM) K Too bad you can't type a backwards "K."
