Guessing he was brought up for the same money. Ie his original deal would be a 1 million dollar deal if called up. Sox give him a million here as a courtesy and/or to avoid a player's association grievance to get around that. Just a guess though.

I didn't expect much but an injured 25 year old outfielder who hasn't hit in a couple years and I assume about to be rule 5 eligible (if that matters) seems below my low expectations. Don't see the need when they can go to the well on these already at AAA. Would rather seem more bullpen flyers.

Moving Vargas off 3B is stupid.

I kind of doubt he will be back to be honest. He was the best hitter in minor league baseball. That still didn't earn him a spot here. I doubt he can keep that level up. They've fucked with him enough already by not giving him consistent at bats.
