Juan can come back if: 1.) We hire a dietitian, give him a workout program that is monitored by a Whitesox employee, and buy him a treadmill that is reviewed by Whitesox personnel via webcam. Add periodic weigh ins. 2.) We hire Walt Hrniak (as a consultant) to re institute the leg kick timing mechanism, and fire Greg Walker hiring a new hitting coach outside of the White Sox organization. 3.) Give him a bonus carrot(money) based on OBP + BA. 4.) promise to bench his ass the minute he becomes the Tazmanian spin devil, swinging for the fences on every pitch and turning himself into the ground.

QUOTE(fathom @ Oct 2, 2007 -> 02:51 PM) 72-90, here we come again! One hits 23 homers, the other has one good month. I would rather have Fields in left and let Richar lead off. At least Richar knows how to get on base. -

LF - Owens/Erstad - Ozzie will select the non hitting guy over the power guy, because the non hitting guy is fast. 2B - Richar DH Thome 1B Konerko RF Dye CF Rowand C AJ 3B Crede SS Uribe Buerhle Vazquez Contreras Danks Floyd Bench Hall, Ozuna, Gonzales, Erstad Jenks Thornton Myers Logan Vet acquired in Garland trade Fields will wind up in AAA for no good reason. Anderson will be traded, McDougal and Aardsma will be traded. Masset will be traded. Pods no tendered. -
On one hand, they want people to see what Islam is about. So you can learn about other cultures. Unless it has anything to do with Christianity. Then they need to eliminate all traces of it. Jello = Evil Santa = Red Devil Jesus lover Halloween = calling card of christ. I expect all public schools in that district to adopt meatless Fridays and fish fry's during lent. Maybe they can also adopt kosher meals as well. Or they could pack their own kids lunch and shut the f*** up. The funny thing is that Santa Claus and Halloween are based on other items outside of Christianity. Halloween is based on the the Celtic Feast of Samhain, and a bunch of the Santa Claus traditions are based off of the Germanic version of Odin who is hardly Christian.

I picked this up about 6 months ago to help with the aeration of the wine. I don't have time for the most part to prep the wine, and put it in a decanter. This works pretty well, and helps bring life to some of the cheaper wines for dinner consumption. Vinturi

QUOTE(kapkomet @ Oct 1, 2007 -> 05:12 PM) I know they were starting to look at that at TWC. The thing is, though, most systems cannot handle that without serious upgrades. Comcast has been running a lot of fiber from a transport standpoint they should be okay. From a peering standpoint it could be hell. Its funny though, at the same time Comcast is touting their DOCIS 3.0 equipment they are suspending users for a year for using too much bandwidth. Hopefully they dont have a magic invisible cap that only get invoked when you use the equipment to its fullest.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Oct 1, 2007 -> 03:41 PM) You obviously havent discovered OnDemand, the greatest thing since velcro. Comcast blows everything else out of the water IMO. Wait till DOCIS 3.0 is adopted across the cable providers in the next few years, think of broadband internet connection above 100mbs. The comcast tests were at 160mbs. At that point you can do IP TV.

QUOTE(RME JICO @ Oct 1, 2007 -> 04:41 PM) Just some interesting numbers. In 2007, the White Sox: were outscored 839-693, a 146-run differential, the largest for the team since 1976 struck out a club-record 1,149 times had a team batting average of .246 which was its lowest since batting .244 in 1988 did not have a player hit at least .280 for the first time since 1988 did not have a 100-RBI man in its lineup for the first time since 1990 Best hitting coach in baseball. Hopefully you are all out in your backyards, spraying aerosols and emitting greenhouse gasses. We need to enact global warming by next April. Because if its cold again, it maybe the start of Perfect Storm II, Electric Boogaloo. Then we will start flipping baseball cards, and hear about not being loosey goosey and its all over.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Oct 1, 2007 -> 02:29 PM) im going to get another one this week. I like tats as something that remind you about life transitions. I got one after college and after the end of a 5 year relationship. There are stages you go through in life and I like to make them lessons for me to improve myself and tats are a part of that for me. Here is one for Rock, a tramp stamp that reads like a book. This is the type that gets the wedding magazines delivered to her house, even through she isnt seeing anyone seriously.

QUOTE(Yossarian @ Oct 1, 2007 -> 09:33 AM) For the most part, my in-laws have been nicer to me than my own blood relatives. My in laws are great as well. My mother in law watches our kids 2 days a week, so my wife can work part time. We pay her, but she winds up spending what we pay her on our kids. Both of my in laws are selfless and are always helping out. I feel pretty lucky with what I wound up with as an extended family.

Official Hate for the Milwaukee Brewers Thread

QUOTE(Jordan4life_2007 @ Sep 30, 2007 -> 09:18 PM) I can't take it anymore. Even my mother, who doesn't know baseball from tennis, has jumped on the Cubs Bnadwagon. We as Sox fans need to come together against this madness. In 2005, it was the Rally Crede, I forgot who came up with it, that lifted us. We need to come up with something to do the exact opposite for the Cubs. How about the Rally Bartman? Or maybe, atleast until they're hopefully eliminated, sport Bartman avatars? I will go with the latter for now. Here is a typical cub fan, my retarded brother. He tells me that he is concentrating on who will represent the AL in the world series to see how much of a challenge it will be for the Cubs to win it all. Then he tells me that if the RedSox or yanks win they will take over their stadiums. I inform him that both teams have better road draws than the flubs, including sending him the road attendance stats. Stats be damned, the cub fans think they will take over everyones stadium. And his prediction is that the cubs sweep there way to a world series and dont lose a game. I hope they lose out in the first round. -
Actually MLB had these city pep rallies in 05 as well. We had the same thing.

Thank f***ing god we got 3 more worthless wins so we could draft 8th instead of 3rd. Playing like crap the entire season, only to have a 2 week period ruin our draft for next year is the icing on the cake.

2007 Post ASB White Sox Catch-All Thread

Kenny looks to become Brian Sabean. Lets get old expensive, and not so good players and then trade anything reasonable in the farm system so we can go out and get more old players. Mike Myers is returning. GMAFB, And then we get the company line from the radio crew on how they are pretty sure that Uribe is going to be back. So basically we have an old, espensive team that can't hit, with no future. Well that pretty much does it for me. I am taking my money that goes to my ticket plan, and will put it to another use. Screw this. I can watch old expensive garbage from the comforts of my home. I wonder if we can get some mid 30's or over 40s guys to play 2nd and LF. Maybe send Fields back to the minors, so we can continue to the old and gray plan. Maybe we can resign Erstad, and have him bat leadoff. Its going to take a long long long time to rescue this franchise from these silly decisions. -
Draft position means nothing. KW will select Jordan Danks. The minute this team left the top 3 picks, he has the freedom to go after another one of his guys. He drafted him before, and he will waste( I mean use a draft pick) a pick on him. We will get a top 60 player in the 10th spot. Whoopie

September 28th: Chicago vs. Detroit
southsideirish71 replied to Flash Tizzle's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Sep 28, 2007 -> 08:00 PM) I'm sick of this f***ing team. We're looking at 9th place, and one game behind Washington, if neither Houston or Cincinnati win. And the Whitesox with the 9th pick, select Jordan Danks of the University of Texas. A surprise pick at this point, Danks was scheduled to be a late first rounder to the 2nd round. With a lot of toolsy picks out here, I dont understand why the sox went this way. This is a stretch at this point, a bit of an overdraft. The next day the Suntimes Crowley article "A noticeable smiling Kenny Williams speaks, well when you get a special talent and quality individual like Jordan Danks you sometimes have to thank the rest of the teams for passing up on him. He was our top pick if we selected number one, or number 25. Hahn comes over, Kenny strikes again. He always gets his man. " -

QUOTE(juddling @ Sep 27, 2007 -> 10:26 AM) Now that the new season is slowly getting underway...what are you liking or waiting to see???? I think Heroes is gonna have another good year. I also liked 'Chuck" on NBC though it will be interesting to see how the premise holds up in the long term. I caught The Bionic Woman last night and i think it's promising as well. Dirty, Sexy, Money wasn't as bad as i heard and it did have a few funny moments. Besides the big shows (Lost, Scrubs, The Shield), I am waiting to see this season of Smallville (hot blond Supergirl.....what can go wrong). Any other early opinions out there????? The Unit and NCIS had good starts. Looking forward to Smallville and of course Las Vegas on Friday night. More Molly Sims in lingerie please this season. I cant wait for Jericho to come back, and also I am looking for my 24 fix in January.

QUOTE(greg775 @ Sep 26, 2007 -> 09:29 PM) Now that's the way to handle a s***ty team!! Great job Garland!! Tremendous victory. I didn't realize Owens had 30 plus stolen bases. That, if true, is a lot. Maybe he is the answer. GO SOX!!!! Keep on Winning!!!! LOL

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Sep 26, 2007 -> 03:57 PM) I hope he's at a playoff game. You know 2 things are going to happen. 1.) the media will reach out and try and get his take on the cubs going to the playoffs. 2.) Some of his retarded cub fan brethren will again threaten his life.
