I don't get the question - is it on the basis of overall value if you were going to start a franchise today? Or just quality of performance to date this year?
By VORP, its:
Quentin 51.1
Danks 47.1
Dye 36.2
Thome 34.1
Buehrle 31.1
Vazquez 28.6
Floyd 26.3
Ramirez 21.7
Thornton 21.7
Cabrera 21.4
Jenks 19.9
Pierzynski 15.2
Contreras 14.6
Linebrink 12.2
Wise 9.5 (!)
Konerko 9.3
Carrasco 8.9
Dotel 7.1
Crede 6.5
Swisher 6.3
McDougal 6.3
Brian Anderson 2.3
Wow, look at Wise. If that was normalized for playing time, he'd skyrocket to the top

I know there are some Coheed & Cambria fans on the board, any of you guys going to the Neverender in Chicago?
I'm going to the "In Keeping Secrets..." night here in LA.
I thought about it, since they are my favorite band. But, unless they schedule a Neverender Texas, I won't be making it. Other trips I have planned later this year will prevent me from making it

Also, in case anyone looked at 3eb's post a page back thinking there's a cure on the horizon there isn't. Knowing him I'm sure he is aware of this and has taken great joy from raising your hopes, haha. Propecia has been around for over 10 years, Minoxidil 20; yet no major advancements have happened since.
No I was sincere. I either read or saw that stem cell researchers at an ivy league school accidentally discovered how to regrow hair in follicles which weren't producing anymore. It grew back with no color, but that's easy to hide. They said a marketable product would be available relatively soon. Have you already heard of this story and believe it to be bogus?
The Potbelly's Italian is my new favorite. I believe it's salami, pepperoni, capicolla, mayo, mustard, hot giardinara, lettuce, tomato, pickle on white sub roll. Must order with double meat

Danks and Becks each go 2-5 with 2 singles. Danks struck out twice, Becks had 3 RBI.
Morel went 2-3 with his 5th HR, avg up to .290.
Beckham hit a single and a HR

Sorry, but he left that in California

You beat me to it... if Cabrera wins a Gold Glove this year I don't know what I'll do. It will be even worse than Jeter getting it.
Cabrera leads all major league shortstops in defensive win shares...by a lot
I think Gonzales messed up by calling it a bet. It was probably more of an agreement. Like Floyd probably says if I accomplish a major goal, then you guys can cut my hair. He wouldn't want to have a s***ty year and also lose his mane. That's salt in the wound

They're talking about the Chicago Fire on the Score, what the f***!?
Yeah Chicago Fire is the new nickname for Griffey's joints

Looking back at his college stats, he didn't hit alot of homeruns, but his SLG was in the mid-400's and his OPS was in the high-800s. (That's clearly better than singles-hitter production.)
You aren't accounting for his batting average. Subtract his batting average from his slugging percentage to find his isolated power during those years and the largest you get is .121. The lowest you get (his last year, junior) is .046. A prototypical power hitter will be above .200 and a singles-hitter will be around .100 or lower
