i don't know what's funnier, the baj love-fest or the inevitable baj backlash. good luck, jeff. good to have you back.

i just think that all this negativity is a great example of what almost 100 years blue balls will do to you. -

QUOTE(southsideirish @ Aug 24, 2005 -> 04:16 PM) OK, but it took them a while to regroup and turn it back around, and besides CC Sabathia is anyone on that pitching staff home grown talent? Victor Martinez Jonny Peralta Travis Hafner Coco Crisp Grady Sizemore Casey Blake CC Sabathia That is all right? WHITE SOX home grown talent Mark Buehrle Jon Garland Neal Cotts Bobby Jenks Joe Crede Aaron Rowand i guess it depends on your definition of home-grown. if you mean a guy you drafted and brought through the system to the big club, that's one thing; but if you mean drafted elsewhere than traded as you are a minor-leaguer, that's another. the indians picked up sizemore and crisp from other orgs when they were still in the minors. if that is the rationale then cliff lee and jake westbrook would also be considered homegrown. -
man, that's like choosing famine or pestilence.

a pass? wasn't he generally referred to as "dead" on this board for an extended period of time?

i really hope this catches on. i would love to hear mccarver and buck trying to explain what all the sox fans are waving during the world series.

huggins: resign, or be fired

the indians have been so up and down this year that's it's difficult to imagine them finishing the season on an absolute tear, but i suppose it is possible. there is no question in my mind, though, that they are going to be a force in the division for the foreseeable future.

i'm considering going to one of the final three games in cleveland, although that's a little up in the air.

QUOTE(Jordan4life_2005 @ Aug 22, 2005 -> 04:32 PM) Just highlight whatever you want to put in green. Then go to the color box and click green. thanks

QUOTE(effectivelywild @ Aug 20, 2005 -> 07:37 AM) Honestly, most of my white sox fan friends think that Hawk is almost single-handedly detroying the fan base. Television is crucial to developing fans. Hawk can be just painful to listen to sometimes. Honestly, I could do a better job. just so long as you are being honest.

QUOTE(TheDybber @ Aug 22, 2005 -> 03:43 PM) Chavez was available? Why didn't we get him? because kw sucks. and reinsdorf won't spend the money. and he refused to be traded here. and fans never come to the games anyway... *wishes knew how to do green text*

QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Aug 19, 2005 -> 08:21 PM) I think we heard it from too many places for it not to be true to a certain extent. Almost everyone on this site heard it here first before anywhere else. I don't think any of the media, national included, read this site. Even look at the Boston Globe article. Guess where all that talk originated? In the middle of a Boston-KC series, it even says so right in there. The whole things a bit odd. i have friends who cover an mlb team and i have asked about this rumor. most of them have heard it as well, although none of them said they heard it from their typical team sources (assistant gms, agents, etc.). most said they heard it from another reporter and didn't know where he heard it from.

LOL. oh, the memories.

anyone hear if burnett cleared waivers? (i keed, i keed)

i'm wondering how the cardinal line is going to move in the wake of rolen's status.

i actually prefer to sit back, relax and strap it down, but if you want to cinch it up and hunker down, you go on with your bad self.

QUOTE(TheDybber @ Aug 18, 2005 -> 06:47 PM) Did you ever think that maybe...just maybe...Cincinnati ain't buyin' what we're sellin'? Just because you would offer everyone to them doesn't mean they want them. Even BMac. They probably want someone that's ready to step into a #1 role RIGHT NOW. BMac ain't that guy. They don't need any more OFs at this point. They don't need a 3B. Seems like they are fine with Lopez at SS. So what does that leave? Rogowski at 1B IF they can dump Casey and the Reds might not want him. Sorry dude, there are two sides to every story. And we don't even know one. And one more thing...earlier this year, everyone is talking about how aggressive KW is and that he'll get a deal done. How do you know that he isn't? Let's just let this play out and see what happens. the only thing i would take issue with here is that the reds do need everything. people think they don't need ofs because they have pena, dunn, griffey and kearns, but after that their system is absolultely depleted of talent. young and rogowski would be better than anyone they currently have in their system and would immediately become two of their top prospects. the second paragraph i agree with totally.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Aug 18, 2005 -> 04:11 PM) No. Not really. He has 2 less HRs than Everett. He also has +30 points on his OPS and +30 on his BA. This does not solve all of our problems. Neither does a 35 year old pitcher with a partially torn rotator cuff and a team that would want a s*** load of talent for the two. Ibanez and Guardado would be great pickups they however would not cure all problems for this club and would cost more than should be given up for them. i'd be more concerned with guardado's rotator cuff if he wasn't pitching so well with it in the shape it is. hell, maybe you don't even need a friggin rotator cuff to pitch. who knew?

well, go ahead and put me on the "dead arm" camp along with addy. what the hell. sounds good to me.

any writer who can work the word "diaspora" into an article about baseball is all right with me. great story.
