  1. "I have a bad feeling about this" Panican @ron883 should stop trusting his feelings but be relieved.
  2. Nice Zombie Meidroth avatar and yes I know the origin of the picture but the artist is a mystery.
  3. This was only announced close to an hour ago. Perhaps we need a new title or another thread informing our community. I only see an announcement on The Tribune's website . There should be tweets out there parroting the Tribune's Lamond Pope article. My uninformed guess is 4 to 6 weeks.
  4. Because of my age and the herniated disc in my back I only work with 2 8 lb colored soft lady dumbbells and I actually do go on walks for around a 1/2 mi perhaps and I do curls as I'm walking since with the arm swing of walking it feels natural. Also wear a back brace on these walks to keep my posture correct and as a precaution for carrying the 16 extra lbs. and the curls. I have to be extra mindful of the terrain because there are dips and bumps in the sidewalk due to tree roots and driveways that extend to the curb so a lot of small peaks and valley's to take a misstep that can really jolt your back or result in a ankle sprain or a trip and fall. Sometimnes I will vary the length of my stride or stop and do stair stepping exercises on the curb or walk backwards and sideways just to vary the routine and use different muscles. I don't even feel it in my legs afterwards, a little in my hips and arms but I feel I'm getting more toned and stronger. I'd recommend it to anyone wanting to stay active. Just prepare yourself for falls maybe a bicycle helmet and knee braces too if you feel your knees aren't that strong. If their is a track near you like around a football field for track and field athletes that is ideal. Nice level ground and softer than concrete.
  5. I saw that crotch bump after today's game I was like they're getting mighty close there. Guess it's not the 1st time they've been ummm that close.
  6. Well the Pope tried making the Sox realize that Romo wasn't the answer and that didn't work so he went to the Teel injury. It'll work out better in the end from divine intervention, 😉😇
  7. I was impressed you got the 2 things in your check list also !
  8. You must not have ever had a serious ankle sprain. They say you're better off breaking the bone. Not sure that is still true. Told me that many many years ago.
  9. I think that was a joke but can't tell. Were you a Lackey lackey ? I wouldn't care if they sent Romo down and brought up Turner and Lee but it will likely be Quero. They wouldn't add Turner to occupy a 40 man spot anyway. It's already crowded even after the 2 spots traded away.
  10. Wow long game thread. I'll now go and read most of it including I assume early panic 🤣
  11. Surprising to see. Just saw Venable say in the post game that he didn't know who as being called up. Teel might be out a while. Definitely IL. A bittersweet win considering the injuries to Teel and Colson's shin burger. I would've the loss if it meant Teel and Colson stayed healthy.
  12. I got the max on youtube (5000) and I keep cutting songs I have for songs I missed. I do run across some every now and than that are 5 years old or less that I like. Here's one that I like for some reason. Some of the live versions are worth watching too.
  13. It was that's why I said the Sox hate him but who actually knows ? You'll never get a pitcher to admit they don't like Lee's game calling or catcher's mound-side etiquette. As a hitter, the last time he was up he hit pretty good in a 40 plate appearance sample.
  14. I don't know if we will regret at all. How often will we play the Pirates ? Immediate help I'll expand the definition. Immediate help to the 26 man roster. No Immediate help to the 40 man roster. YES, Because of trying to keep as many players as possible and injuries there were 48 players on the 40 man roster including Eisert and Gonzo so they cleared 2 spots. Immediate help to the Franchise . YES . Extra draft money and 1 extra draft pick and the ability to use that extra money for various purposes and an extra what amounts to an early 2nd round pick in what was considered a deep draft, is certainly beneficial to rebuilding the farm system for future teams. Being a big market team it could be many many years before we have another chance to take so many good players in the draft. This was a once in 50 years occurrence. Last time the Sox had the 1st overall pick was 1977.
  15. No , just another talking point about trades. Can you get a defensive late inning sub, RHH for next to nothing like Korey Lee ? Then sure. Korey Lee would actually be fine except the Sox hate him.
  16. I won't name names even if "giving up" was not quite the reason since he had a very good year before the trade. We always overvalue our own guys. And some just thought he was too good to trade.
  17. Hmm. I like it. Not a big K guy , more of a control guy. However he's been a pretty good pitcher for the last 5 years but only a starting pitcher in 2025 & '26. He's 33 and a FA after the season ends. Made 31 starts 2025 165.2 IP, 3.53 ERA, 4.11 FIP 1.3 WHIP. Pitched 3.0 innings in the 2026 WBC no earned run given up. 2026, 9 starts 2.39 ERA, 3.22 FIP, 1.1 WHIP His fibula was fractured May 15 by a 111 MPH line drive by Spencer Jones of the Yanks. He initially stayed in the game. Mets want to extend him and will decide on his TDL fate after Holmes decides what to do with the Mets offer.
  18. My AI series of questions was regarding the White Sox record when Mune, Colson and Miggy all started the game and at least one of them hit a HR. This is the answer. Take it for what it's worth. The Chicago White Sox regular-season record is 27–5 (.844 Win %) in the 32 games where all three players started and at least one hit a home run. [1, 2, 3, 4] This is to prevent angst in late innings when all 3 start the game and 1 of them Homers like Colson did today. You're welcome for relieving most of your late inning anguish in those games. 😉
  19. It would still be a short term result. Lots of people hated trading Crochet even though it was 100% the right call and the 1st year he was with Boston and Meidroth was up and Teel much later yea it looked bad. But Crochet got injured in 2026 which was a big reason for trading him along with we needed more young position players. And now after Teel's injury and Braden's ascension all 3 position players are in the lineup and making big contributions as mainstays to the core. Vargas trade looked bad too. I know it can't be helped to judge trades right away but it does take years sometimes before we know for sure how to judge it. Like crying about all those nothing trades turned out to be nothing to this date.
  20. 643 bebe !! Series winner. Keep that sage candle burning Venable !
  21. About time Mune got untracked too wouldn't you say ? Bomb time !
  22. How many years do you think it will take for you to start saying Great trade for the Sox ! Just because Gonzalez was the most obvious piece have you not been paying attention to all the "experts" saying the Sox had the best draft ? Do you want to be 1 and done or do you want to sustain this and dominate the division for years to come ?
