  1. On our way to 7 in a row . Only the logical next number after 11 then 9 next comes 7.
  2. QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 20, 2010 -> 09:42 PM) that was a pretty positive response to that signing. I don't know about that. I'd say it was more against than for the move. Lot's of complaints about OPS, age, and if Guillen and Cora can't teach Alexei to play SS how is Omar ?
  3. QUOTE (JohnCangelosi @ Jul 19, 2010 -> 12:01 PM) His swing is starting to look like last year again. If we see him in the 9 hole again tonight I am going to flip. It's time to get him more at bats during the game and start getting on base for the big boys...or consider putting him in the 6 slot instead of Kotsay... Guess you're going to flip again.
  4. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jul 17, 2010 -> 03:33 PM) Kenny should grow a huge pair of balls and trade Konerko and Teahen at the deadline a good OF. I can see where you're coming from. Everybody always says get rid of so and so when they suck and value is low. Konerko isn't getting any younger and his value is very high right now but I know you want Viciedo at first and that is in no way acceptable for a contending team.
  5. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 16, 2010 -> 08:13 PM) With all due respect, Kotsay stinks. In all seriousness, how do I do the quote function correctly? I can't make it work. If the quote button is red (off) click it so it turns back ( on). Just click reply and it should work. Don't erase anything just type under it.
  6. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 16, 2010 -> 08:13 PM) Alexei's gotta get on somehow. We have our big hitters coming up. He did
  7. Mahay sucks v. righties force Gardenhires hand a litlle bit.
  8. Don't see why you wouldn't pinch hit Viciedo for Kotsay here unless you're saving him for men on base.
  9. Has Gordon always had that Morganesque twitch of elbow ?
  10. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jul 11, 2010 -> 09:56 PM) Bat. I have the utmost confidence in Hudson. You better have it in Freddie too not only to keep pitching well but to stay healthy. Imagine if another Sox starter went down.
  11. Tank with a huge bomb today about 4 rows short of the concourse in LF . Estimated distance about 435-450 feet.
  12. QUOTE (Real @ Jul 11, 2010 -> 05:26 PM) Do the Twins/Tigs have a tougher Post-ASB schedule than we do? I know we have to play Boston twice but I'm not really worried about them, we're only a game and a half behind them right now... which is crazy when you put it into perspective Also, we don't have to face Cliff Lee ONCE for the rest of the year, sans a Post Season meeting Sox have a big test right after the break with 10 road games against the Twins, Mariners and A's. Though the Mariners and A's seem on the surface to be weak , west coast games have not been kind in recent years.
  13. I've been looking up as many speedy outfielders as I can lately as Pierre seems like a guy who could be replaced. Guys who would look good include Brett Gardner, Andrew McCuthchen, David DeJesus, Chris Young, Dexter Fowler, Carlos Gonzales, Seth Smith (last 3 all in crowded Colorado outfield) which might mean Brad Hawpe would be good to pick up as a DH type though not exactly an impact bat he's better than Kotsay . Trouble is most of theses guys are still on contending teams, though I'm sure I've overlooked a few players Pitching will be much harder to find but with Mark getting hit by a line drive recently and Freddie's always suspect health it might be wiser to somehow find a pitcher. Maybe Kenny can find out if Jarrod Washburn has anything left in the tank .
  14. QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 11, 2010 -> 08:20 PM) First place and the Sox are under .500 against AL opponents (34-35), and AL Central opponents (16-17). That'll change for the better, but kind of interesting I think. Huge test right after the AS break with a 10 game road show against Twins, Mariners and A's. West coast games have not been kind to the Sox in recent years and the Sox power on the road has been down.
  15. Also longest winning streak going into the All-Star break in franchise history.
  16. Only the 6th perfect homestand in White Sox history per Bruce Levine . There's one for you Statmandu.
  17. During the seven-game homestand, Quentin was 7 for 13 with six home runs and 11 RBIs. Quentin, who had two home runs in the win on Saturday, had three multihomer games during the homestand. He missed three games because a sore left knee. Per ESPN Chicago. 6 HR in 4 games
  18. What ? No one thinks Teahen will be the left handed bat we need ? The way the team is playing now and with Teahen's eventual return KW should look to include him in a deal. But if not, with Lillibridge being 5-5 as a pinch hitter that really does reduce Kotsay's role a lot more. The problem is everyone's playing well right now, Kotsay included, and it's a beautiful problem .
