Houser is pitching for the Giants. Hudson is opening for tbe Sox .Can't imagine him going longer than an inning or 2. Fedde will follow him. Houser got off to a rocky start but 2-0 in his last 2 starts giving up just 3 runs in 11 2/3 innings against the Dodgers and A's, 2 pretty good lineups. Fedde is 2-1 in 3 career stsrts against the Giants with a 1.69 ERA. The Sox have won 4 of the last 5 games he has pitched but he has no wins. Hicks has a strained lat and Leasure is back.

Thst was a good piece of hitting by Hill shooting it to RF.

Davis Martin went to 6-0 after a Sox loss and Giants looked terrible as the Sox got 9 runs on 5 hits all in 1 inning. Antonacci had 2 HBP in that inning and Mune had a bases clearing double Meidroth had abases loaded walk and Benintendi a 2 run double.

Thats why I had confidence the Sox would be much better this year. Once the rooks started playing they started winning a little more. Then you add Murakami to a lineup with Colson and others playing a full season , they just sermed like a much better offensive team. And despite the high wire act by Dominquez hes easily passed the top save guy from last year. Vargas and Davis improvement plus Antonacci ,Kay and Schultz made up for the loss of Teel , Baldwin and Vasil.

Like watching Rod Carew hit.

Your original answer didnt include "3B is only one spot " since you said one of your possibilties was Meidroth at SS and Ant at 2nd. I never imagined you'd put in Hill in LF and actually call that a better lineup.When he's just as bad as Acuna vs RHP, maybe worse. That pretty much left Benintendi for LF if you wanted a better lineup and then you have to change DH. But sure put Antonacci at 3rd after you just saw him get an interference call at 2nd base which is his natural position. Frankly the game results speak for themself .The Sox comitted no errors and Acuna didnt embarass himself offensively. And the world didnt end because Colson played 3rd in a pinch . It's called defensive flexibility.Its not exactly unheard of in the modern game .He's not exactly a butcher there. The whole reason for drafting SS is because they are athletic enough to field other positions. The coaching staff is awate of a lot more things than you are.
