Oscar Colas Story (Is this true?)
It's not a terrible idea. That's why the Sox were slow on the bandwagon of drafting middle infielders. They can be moved to a lot of other positions because of their athleticism. Too early for it now of course. Let him keep hitting and developing as a SS . Oh and btw TA was suggested at catcher not CF by greg775 a few years ago. Your suggestion isn't even as close to that bad. Plenty of middle infielders can convert to the OF while mid. inf. to catcher is quite a stretch. So while it isn't a stretch to suggest he can play OF , it is quite the stretch to suggest he do it this year and especially in MLB when it's possible the Sox don't even move him to AA for another couple months. He'll be playing SS for a while. But you never know how things might turn out.

I agree. Seby has been a godsend to the Sox. While it's totally possible he may turn back into a pumpkin it's better right now to ride his bat. Perez is a good prospect but Seby has more MLB experience. In his 16 games so far he's been worth .6 fWar and 135 wRC+. Hard to imagine Perez coming up and doing better than that. At this point it's hard to even imagine Grandal ,once activated ,doing better than that. Zavala is out of options too so if the Sox send him down when Grandal returns he can refuse and be available to any team according to James Fox.

They both reached AA and AAA by age 24. Seby missed his age 26 season in 2020 and Perez his age 23 season. Seby's been jumping up and down between Charlotte and the Sox since 2019 his age 25 season . Perez will get his shot, maybe one of them gets traded. Wouldn't be such a bad idea to sell high on Zavala .

Sox vs Minny 7/4/22 game thread Sweet Home Chicago, without Tony
The big boys need to show up. When 3 of your 4 best hitters in the last 2 weeks are Zavala, Sheets and Harrison guys like Vaughn, Robert, Tim,Pollock and Moncada need to step it up. Those other 3 guys and Abreu need the help. Who knows maybe we see Eloy here today too. In his last 113 PA Robert has walked 2 times for a measly 1.8 % walk rate. On the year it's 2.9% , the same as Leury Garcia.

Just looking at Seby 's development. It seemed like he was slow at some levels to figure it out but he always seemed to. Missing 2020 set him back so figuring out AAA took longer than usual while getting some time in the bigs too. Maybe he figured out AAA and MLB simultaneously. Hard to argue against his Knights and Sox stats combined this year. One thing about Seby is that he's always been a pretty consistent power hitter like doubles and HR's. The lineup could use those extra base hits . Full Zunino his batting average would be .100 less than it is now. Seby seems like a pretty smart hitter , he can go opposite field too. I just think he zone hits to pull and goes opposite when he has to. Actually my favorite kind of power hitter. Can turn and burn but adjusts on outside pitches. Perez in game power didn't show up till last year while Seby's power has always been there.

Sox at San Fran 7/3/22 game thread I left my manager in San Francisco
It's his job to get to 3rd there when your awareness is that Tim will be tagged out. Not very often does a runner in a rundown between 3rd and home not get tagged out. Vaughn was doing his job there going as far as he could towards third until he saw Tim was going to make it back when no one was covering third. At that point he's left in nowhere land and hung out to dry.

Eloy rehab starts again 6/21
Of course I did.But I'm not going to repeat them. He pulled himself out of his very 1st game of his 1st rehab assignment on May 28th. They sat him until June 1st then he played 5 games betweeh the 1st and the 7th of JUne . Then they shut him down for 2 weeks .It's semantics to say he didn't reinjured himself. He wasn't up to playing ok? Is that better ? Twice once on 5/28 and next time after the June 7th game.Today looks like the 1st time he played a full game in the OF. Is there a possibility of him coming back Monday ? Sure I guess so and you hedge your bet by saying Thursday. But you say if it isn't Monday the Sox are stupid to wait as if you know more about the situation than them. It's pretty arrogant. What difference does Moncada's time frame make? Not the same injury not the same player. I'll take a wild guess and say he doesn't play tomorrow after his 1st full game in the OF and the Sox will make sure he can at least play 2 or 3 games in a row before they bring him back either end of next week or next Monday the 11th. But I admit I'm guessing because I don't know anything except for what happened in his 1st rehab assignment, how long it took him to start his 2nd rehab assignment and how much they have played him in the OF and at DH so far. You could be right or I could be right or we both could be wrong. They start a 7 game stretch against the Guardians and Twins starting on the 11th. The All Star beak starts the 18th and they resume play on the 22nd against the Guardians again. Don't be embarrassed for me that I took the time to research and observe the full situation far closer than you did.

Eloy rehab starts again 6/21
So you're going to play some kind of mysterious you're in the know somehow game here . Is that it ? I give you details on why it doesn't seem plausible he'll be activated Monday and that's all you got ? Of course the people who play that card also never reveal anything and then can claim later that you never knew anyone who gives you inside info . Or you can say you know someone but they were wrong thus making you wrong. How convenient to have a way out or an excuse to never actually be wrong based on your own opinion. .Some of us take chances doing by trying to use all the facts we can gather and coming to a semi informed opinion.

Eloy rehab starts again 6/21
SO the Sox are stupid if they decide he needs more rehab even though we are way past the 6-8 weeks his injury was supposed to take and he already hurt himself once trying to come back early and before his current rehab assignment started he had another week off. Before tonight he's only had 13 innings in LF in his 2nd rehab assignment. How in heavens name can you convince yourself he'll be ready Monday and think the Sox are stupid to give him more time when you aren't even close to the situation or directly involved in his health care ?

A better option than what ,a 0 WAR guy ? There are options better than that. If someone wants to pay him $5M in the off season to see if he can regain whatever he lost go for it. If you want to hold onto prospects ,trade veterans but I wouldn't necessarily want Gallo in return. Hahn tried the trading no prospects in the off season. That hasn't worked out too well and now we're stuck with terrible health and injuries to guys the Sox thought would be worth a lot more than they are.

I think he's a bad hitter and has been for a while. I liked him because of his track record when he was available but the track record the last few years has sucked. Speculating it's just a NY thing isn't a thing I'd rely on. I'd take a deeper dive into what his speed is now compared to then and some other things about his bat.
