  1. I know I was being crazy with my comparisons but hell dream big if you are going to dream at all. The kid has tremendous speed and power. He has elite bat speed. He is a great defender and base stealer.Between all the time he lost waiting to come here and the injuries he lost a lot of development time. I think he'd already be tearing up AA if he hadn't. If he can manage to stay healthy for a full season we will get to see someone who will spark our imaginations and when paired with Eloy could reach great heights with the Sox.
  2. Great to hear Burdi talking about feeling good and seeing him progressing. Next year should be fun/very interesting with Eloy , Kopech and Burdi all with the Sox by May if everything goes just right. We/I kind of forget Burdi was already near ML ready before he got hurt.
  3. It's called ceiling for a reason. If it makes you happy I'll throw Clemente in there.
  4. As long as we are being crazy. Imagine Roberts ceiling for a minute. Griffey, Trout, Mays (Willie) and Mantle all pop into my head.
  5. If I have to read you saying he's flying open and guessing for (literally) the 100th time I'm going to ,,, well I don't know .. read it again I suppose
  6. Fantastic home stand for Engel and he seems to be taking the race for the highest batting average with Moncada pretty seriously.
  7. I hope he can keeping wearing 16 as his uniform number in the majors. I always wore it because my old favorite Sox OF Ken Berry wore it.
  8. Seems pretty obvious to me. It's called baby steps. Can't expect the guy after major control problems just to go out and throw a gem. Let him take his time make progress every week even if it doen't show up in the box score. Tonight was a good beginning.
  9. When is the last time a major free agent signed with the team that traded for him ? There's a chance it happens with Machado and the Dodgers but I think Dodgers still had a shot at him as a free agent regardless. They just wanted him to try to win a World Series this year. The Sox are not in that position. This seems to be always brought up never happens.
  10. People complain " how come we can't have a rookie come up and produce right away.? " Here he is . Meet Daniel Palka. Tied for 1st for the rookie lead in HR's.
  11. They've been playing quite well lately considering their miserable start. Better than .500 I think the last 2 weeks OK looked it up 10-8 in their last 18 games so pretty good for last 3 weeks.
  12. Yea you heard Hahn say what his plans were this off season. More Wellington Castillo type moves and maybe explore some prospect for prospect deals with the chances of landing a big fish unlikely. So maybe a 75 win team next year ,maybe .500 if Eloy and Kopech manage not to suck.
  13. The endless jabbing at caulfield is mean and vindictive. And of course you got style points for it. He responded to a quote from dickallen. He'a a quality poster . So what if you don't like his writing style. Get over it . Quit being a baby.
  14. Perhaps the Sox should give the home crowd something to cheer about.
  15. Cant call it an elite lineup with Higesawa , Robinson Walker and Bird in it
  16. This might be the Yankees worst lineup of the year.
  17. Orioles have some depth at 3rd. Not sure they need an OF but since they just started their rebuild they will need depth.
  18. So tell us who you would've picked 4th, We'll see how it all shakes out. You have one shot don't say multiple names to increase your odds of picking someone who ends up better than Madrigal. The Sox had one shot at it so should you with a slight advantage of seeing how well any of them have done so far in their assignments.
  19. lol but that wasn't while he was in the minors. He had already made his mark as a MI pitcher. I was talking about Kopech with Stone thinking maybe he has too many distractions and maybe doesn't work hard enough on his game. Now i know Kpoech works very hard to be in excellent shape but who knows if that's to be a stud pitcher or just a stud . It's all conjecture on my part because I can't think of anything else.
  20. If Stone is down on Kopech you have to figure it's because of the semi celebrity status he has with the high profile girlfriends. If you are going to be a gifted pitcher then be a celebrity for that and not a celeb because you have semi famous gf's and are a King in the Twitterverse.
  21. Put me down for 88+ wins in 2020. Bet the house on it. Edit_ Oh and also Cease, Madrigal or Robert as ROTY ( yea yea I know I'm sort of fast tracking Mad and LuRob ).
  22. Sox had "Jungle" Jim Rivera on the 1959 pennant winning team . Maybe Laz needs a cool nickname. like Lucky Laz Rivera or Jazzy Laz Rivera . Submit yours
  23. Carolina league player of the week ! He's a shiny Mercedes now .
