  1. Robert is the one guy I really want to see get a ton of AB's in the next year so we can finally get a handle on his abilities. Seems like so far he;s been injured more than he plays. As a matter of fact I'm pretty sure that is the case. Also would be very helpful if we knew who this Folman fellow is and on what team he plays. I don't recall his name being mentioned anywhere and I read Soxtalk including Future Sox a ton. I must have missed it somewhere.
  2. I think we get a little too hung up on the emoji's. Sure its great to get recognition from a well thought out post . On the other hand some of the posts that get the most trophies or likes that I've seen are ones that insult other posters. I only noticed this when on a rare occasion I questioned a certain posters intelligence and I got some of the good emoji's and I started paying attention to it. I don't think I've ever given a "confused" emoji since if I'm confused as to what a person means I ask them what they meant . Just let that stuff roll off your back and make sure you give out the "thanks" and "like" emoji's more often to negate the "confused" ones. Just have to let it roll of your back especially when if you say something about it you'll probably end up getting some "confused" ones from the smart asses or grudge motivated posters. Not everyone has the knowledge or writing ability to convey their thoughts in a meaningful way.
  3. I really didn't mean it to be loaded. I mean I understand his range and base running skills walks etc contribute to it or else I wouldn't have mentioned them.I suppose you are extrapolating a full season from where his current WAR is ? I just wanted you to tell me if you might agree that a WAR based on those skills is really not that impressive when you throw in the other negative things about him . Plus there's also a big difference between a 2 and a 3 WAR player so there's that also.
  4. Where exactly is he/you getting that WAR from ? Batting average low, strikeouts extremely high OPS hovering around .700, errors very high. Is it all coming from walks , his range , base running skills ? You would think a team full of Moncada's at this point in his career wouldn't be a very good team/ lineup but on the other hand you'd think a team lineup filled with all 2-3 WAR guys would be pretty decent . I understand sticking up for the guy, I do. Choke full of potential but the constant using of WAR to defend him seems out of place when at the moment he isn't a very good baseball player. WAR seems to have some inherent flaws if this is what a 2-3 WAR guy looks like.
  5. Hector in to give up a game winning 2 run HR
  6. Damn can't even score 2 runs on a 2 out double. Did ANderson get a bad jump or did double just not get very far ?
  7. Hahn actually never used the exact words "check the boxes"
  8. Palka tied for the ML lead with 3 PH HR and it's already a White Sox record.
  9. I swear on days when Moncada looks bad he looks like he's had a couple of bong hits . Let me just stand here and watch the pretty pitches go by
  10. What's gotten into the DSL team ? Actually playing around .500 for the last 10 or so games. Their pitching doesn't seem so bad.
  11. Great throw by Philips. Running toward RF so he has to turn his body and throw . very difficult to be accurate and he nailed it.
  12. 1-0 Sox. Abreu double, Avi infield single, Narvaez RBI single.
  13. The problem is the whole sustained excellence thing. If Eloy and Kopech are brought up before the super 2 passes they will still be here though 2024 correct ? If they are going to be really good and the Sox are going to be really good I'll just guess it should be 20-24 which for our franchise would be 4 years of sustained excellence and hopefully a World Series win in that time, So 2025 would be their free agent years ? Again just not 100% clear. So let me assume we sign some good free agents and some other minor leaguers pan out pretty well also. The Sox have always acted like a mid market team when it comes to salaries and if there are some free agent contracts along with Kopech and Eloy poised for big paydays also how long can the Sox realistically sustain excellence ? Of course there will be potholes along the way even in winning seasons that will require spending more and trading prospects at the trade deadline to have a better chance of winning a World Series. I know extensions can be signed and there's also a labor problem potentially smack-dab in the middle of the competitive window and even a possible sale of the team. MY long winded point ? Is it really such a big deal to have that extra year of control when so much else will be going on between now and then ? The Sox clearly CAN keep them down til super 2 but why if they are ready ? Management should never yield its upper hand like a hammer when it comes to highly paid and skilled individuals. It might be selfish to want them up now but it's just as selfish to want to hold them back for the extra year hoping to extent the competitive window. The Sox will be lucky to have at max a 5 year competitive window . How long was the Royal competitive window ? Who do the Sox operate more like, the Royals , Cubs or Astro's ? Maybe that's a more important question. "Checking the boxes" has now become a running joke ( or a meme) as you kids like to call it. And why is it a joke ? Because everyone knows Eloy is ready and probably becomes the best hitter the Sox have. Raise your hand if you were in a similar situation if it wouldn't make you angry.
  14. Well I guess I'll be the one to ask since it's your usual cryptic post. Do you know something we don't ?
  15. I, I'm a new day rising I'm a brand new sky To hang the stars upon tonight I am a little divided Do I stay or run away And leave it all behind? It's times like these you learn to live again It's times like these you give and give again It's times like these you learn to love again It's times like these time and time again
  16. No Eloy ? Hmmmmm....
  17. Why wouldn't he be ?
  18. If Eloy uses pencil to check the boxes will Hahn erase them ?
  19. Did he break a toe when he reached 2nd base ?
  20. Matty Ice strikes again against the Royals !
  21. Time for a triple Timmy
