  1. If you go with the premise that anyone is available there's so many more guys you could have named. If you wanted to find guys that you think are untradeable for various reasons ,there's Bryce Harper , Jason Heyward, Christian Yelich , Bret Gardner, Wil Myers, Joc Pedersen, Gregory Polanco, Sin Soo Choo. Than there's expensive and injured guys like Ryan Zimmerman and Carlos Gonzales. Coors Field products like Corey Dickerson and Charlie Blackmon. Jay Bruce coming off a bad year. Michael Saunders injured a lot but much improved in plate discipline and good at everything on the field . High baseball IQ. We need some of those types. Steve Pearce who's the very definition of late bloomer . Platoon guy like Kevin Kiermaier. Dustin Ackley , Brock Holt. Nava also is a high IQ type. S/H but def. a platoon type . Splits are bad when he hits RH. Pretty good on the bases, good arm , good fielder . Will be 32 in February.
  2. Sierra hitting near .280 with the Sox , better on D, faster and probably an even stronger arm than Dayan. Viciedo should be on Hahn's attempt to trade list. Bassitt 1-2-3 in the second. Edit: Actually .283 with the Sox
  3. 2-0 Sox on Sanchez double , Flowers HR both to the the LCF gap . Also followed by a Sierra double down the LF line but an Alexei pop out to SS ended the inning.
  4. QUOTE (raBBit @ Sep 16, 2014 -> 08:42 PM) The sentiment on Wilkins was a lot different a couple months ago. He used to have all these fans and now he just has haters. Sox broke Herrera's and Davis' scoreless innings streak in one swing. Between the 2 of them they had 60+ consecutive scoreless innings. Nice to end them both. Wilkins deserved the call up but he's making as much contact as a pitcher. Hard to believe even in a small sample that he can adjust.
  5. The Niners really gave that game away, handed it to the Bears on a silver platter. All those penalties, turnovers and complete lack of a pass rush. Terribly sloppy game but I still enjoyed seeing all those new faces do well on defense and taking advantage of SanFrans ineptitude on offense.
  6. QUOTE (Jake @ Sep 13, 2014 -> 09:26 PM) Last year Semien combined for a .805 OPS w/ 16 HR, .375 OBP against righties. It's not as if he was bad. This year, he combined for a .740 OPS against righties ... which was certainly weighed down, like the rest of his stats, by his rocky start in MLB and injury when he went to AAA. I'm just stoked to see how it all works out. Semien, Sanchez, M. Johnson should be fun to witness. Not going to make any judgements on who's capable of what. Just let it play out and hope it's mostly positive.
  7. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Sep 13, 2014 -> 06:07 PM) Abreu! Finally! 34-100. Crushed to RCF. I think he goes on a power roll for the next few games.
  8. Thanks for picking me up SS2k5. Wanted to start the game thread last nigh tsince I knew I'd be working when the game started but I forgot and fell asleep. Great game Sale and Semien and Petricka.
  9. QUOTE (JoshPR @ Sep 10, 2014 -> 06:39 PM) Wilkins is bad The guy hit .290 with 30 HR's in AAA and he's making every right-handed pitcher look like Nolan Ryan. The leap from AAA to MLB must be a chasm for some guys.

  11. because , because, because, because...because of the wonderful things he does !
  12. I see a lot of swings and misses at pitches outside the zone.
  13. QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ Sep 5, 2014 -> 12:42 PM) Really excited to see how fast Alvarez can move next year. I imagine they'll be aggressive with him. Will be an interesting follow. Considering he didn't pick up a bat for 3 1/2 yrs in March , what he's done is amazing.
  14. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Sep 5, 2014 -> 07:06 PM) Missed it, what happened Eaton got a bunt single . Leury sac bunt got him to 2nd so with 1st base open they walked Abreu .
  15. Cleto more than 1 inning ? Really ? Got lucky with him getting through 1 so easy.
  16. Seems like Hawk says "He got a cookie and couldn't do anything with it" for Tank more than anyone.
  17. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 5, 2014 -> 09:32 AM) But then you'd check the age line, realize he's going to be 37 next year, and think "hey, that dramatically increases the chances of failure too". Yep which is why I also looked at the splits because of his age. Hard to see a precipitous drop off in his numbers though after such a good season. However 2 years w/ an option for a 3rd. is the most I would offer and that probably won't cut it.
