  1. QUOTE (SoCalSox @ May 30, 2016 -> 11:57 AM) Brutal way to not get anything... Almost can bet Quintana gives up a run here. Good call.
  2. So yea let's bunt with a righty/lefty matchup and Melky hitting from his strong side . How many other #3 hitters do you think have sacrificed bunted this year ?
  3. I can't watch. Don't want to see this again.
  4. Just can't throw a pitch by these guys.
  5. I hate Hosmer he's pretty damn good. We need a lefty like him.
  6. Oh boy . Please don't blow another one.
  7. Well now comes the fun part of the game. Can the Sox hold the lead ?
  8. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ May 29, 2016 -> 12:43 PM) how was that a ball to Saladino As I have been saying umps are not good when a catcher sets up in one place and the pitcher throws a strike in another place especially one that's on a corner. Can't frame those pitches so that lunging catchers mitt carries the ball out of the zone and it gets called a ball.
  9. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ May 29, 2016 -> 12:49 PM) Jackson in the 2 hole forever please This is probably my fav Sox lineup until Abreu proves he can be a 3 hitter again but even when he does ( and he will) Melky 4th against a RH isn't bad.
  10. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ May 29, 2016 -> 12:07 PM) Lol dude...I'm obviously just f***ing around. Still bitter over yesterday's loss. I like the bitter posts. Hate on KC all you want
  11. QUOTE (fathom @ May 29, 2016 -> 11:59 AM) 1-2 pitch was a blatant strike. Nice throw Melky Just another example of an ump not calling a strike when a pitcher misses his spot when the catcher has to reach to catch it.
  12. QUOTE (SouthWallace @ May 29, 2016 -> 09:17 AM) Eaton RF Jackson CF Frazier 3B Cabrera LF Abreu 1B Lawrie 2B Navarro C Garcia DH Saladino SS Sale https://twitter.com/whitesox/status/736935489769349120 Seems like Eaton has been slumping badly lately. He's mostly hitting grounders to the right side and K' ing. As Eaton goes so go the Sox . Have anyone noticed Abreu had nothing to do with the runs the Sox have scored the last 2 days ? I wonder if a defensive replacement for Abreu yesterday like Loney comes up with that GW hit yesterday. Just a passing thought , don't crucify me.
  13. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ May 29, 2016 -> 07:57 AM) The #RallyFinger shall lead the Sox to victory today! ________________$$ ______________$____$ ______________$____$ ______________$____$ ______________$____$ ______________$____$ __________$$$____$$$ ________$____$____$____$$ ________$____$____$____$__$ $$$__$____$____$____$____$ $____$$________________$____$ $______$______________________$ __$____$______________________$ ___$$__$______________________$ ____$__________________________$ _____$$________________________$ ______$______________________$$ _______$$____________________$ ________$____________________$ _________$$________________$$ __________$________________$ __________$$$$$$$$$$ My Avatar salutes you.
  14. QUOTE (Jerksticks @ May 28, 2016 -> 10:55 PM) I could definitely see him opting out to sign with a CA team, money be damned. Maybe EJ straight up You know him so well that you think he'd give up $20M just to play in California ? Even if he could get signed through 2018 again by a California team ( Dodger Angels, Giants As ) you think he'd take a significant salary deduction ? He's getting his 21M this year. The nest 2 years and the buyout year are worth 44M . Tell me what you think he would give up of that money just to play in those places and why .
  15. QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ May 28, 2016 -> 07:23 PM) Oh I know and you are correct, of course. But I'm so pissed at this organization already and after today's disaster my attitude is that JR caused this mess now either let him spend his way out of it or sell the damn team to someone who knows how to run a baseball franchise. The only way to fix this mess is to overspend money to bring in talent. I do understand. The only way to cope with the recent run of suck is to meander into a dreamworld of a Sox owner with Dodger money.
  16. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ May 26, 2016 -> 07:09 AM) Hahahahahahaha this thread is so full of awesome. And I bet the O.P. wasn't even serious. Oh I dunno. Sin city is very hard to gauge . To me he seems totally serious but who knows, he could be a troll.
  17. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ May 28, 2016 -> 06:48 PM) There's no chance Shields opts out. And if he does, that means pitched so well that we should be able to get a comp pick from his exit. This. Shields is laughing all the way to the bank. He's making 21M for 16, 17 and 18. Why opt out ? There's no way he can get more money than he's getting now. I don't care how well he pitched. At 35 (next year) no one offers him more than what he's already got guaranteed through 2018 and the extra 2M to buy him out for 2019.
  18. QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ May 28, 2016 -> 06:36 PM) Let JR and his investors spend the money to make this team competitive again. They can't do it by trading away talent, the have no minor league system so they have to buy their way back to being a contender. That's never been his M.O. though. If it was the Sox probably could've landed Cespedes. I'm just being realistic. It ain't gonna happen.
  19. QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ May 28, 2016 -> 05:30 PM) If Shields can pitch well enough to be a solid #3 starter, and it doesn't cost much in the way of talent to bring him here, I say do it. I don't give a damn how much money he makes, JR got this franchise into this mess so let him spend the money to get them out of it. I care a lot about his contract. Remember when Danks and LaRoche contracts prevented the Sox from doing much in the free agent outfield market or relegated them to dumpster diving for Rollins,Latos and Jackson ? Now apply that for the rest of this year plus 2017 and 2018 with Shields . I have hope though that some other team presents a better package than the Sox are willing to offer or are willing to eat more of his contract. Come on Red Sox, Yankees, and Dodgers !
  20. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ May 28, 2016 -> 04:54 PM) Considering the source, I'll take the Shields rumor with a grain of salt. Wasn't WhiteSoxDave one of the Twatter people that were talking up Cespedes signing with the Sox last winter? Something about 5/130M, if I remember correctly... But it's picking up steam now with other sources, San Diego Union Tribune, MLB trade Rumors, Yahoo Sports, MLB Daily Dish, SouthSide Sox and others.
  21. QUOTE (maxjusttyped @ May 28, 2016 -> 03:49 PM) LaRoche retiring frees up 13M they already had budgeted to spend. If the team is still in contention in July, there is no reason they shouldn't be able to add another piece. You do realize Shields' deal for 2016 , 2017 and 2018 is $21M per year for those 3 years don't you ? I know it would most likely be prorated for the rest of this year but that pretty much takes care of the $13M from LaRoche unless the Sox get the Pads to eat the rest of this year in exchange for the Sox picking up the next 2 years or something of that nature. Like I said in a previous post I'm hoping for 15-20M eaten by Pads but not hopeful on that front. Really hope this doesn't happen at all.
  22. QUOTE (DBAHO @ May 28, 2016 -> 03:47 PM) Wonder how much of the contract the Padres would potentially pick up here as well. If trade goes through I'm hoping for 15-20M of it but not likely.
  23. QUOTE (fathom @ May 28, 2016 -> 03:39 PM) I would say that after Shields couldn't keep the ball in the park last year, he would be a bad fit here Not only what you said but the contract pretty much cripples any other additions for the year. Maybe Morneau if he can get healthy for July but can the Sox hang in the race til then ?
