I think keto (prefer cyclic keto) can be an effective weight loss strategy but isn't a real way to live one's life. For people that do a lot of cardiovascular-heavy exercises, I recommend ~50% of cals to come from carbs
  2. Adam Dunn is the only reason this team is watchable
  3. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 4, 2013 -> 12:05 PM) I'd rather have an extra $7 million to throw at extensions for Quintana, Santiago, and Reed than not have it. You've seen the salary numbers for next year, I'm sure of it. Do you think Dunn's presence has any bearing on our ability to extend/sign whoever we target? To me, it's worth every penny to gamble on getting nice prospects/players at the deadline next season (or, gasp, even be a winning team at the deadline!)
  4. I'd like someone to explain to me why we are going to need salary relief.
  5. The proposed Aldridge deal is the exact kind of thing bad franchises love doing. Portland can have Deng and like it.
  6. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 4, 2013 -> 03:26 AM) For some reason, I consider Gillaspie a utility guy, like a little better version of Lillibridge. Like a Lillibridge that only plays one position, is left-handed, and can hit
  7. I've talked about this elsewhere, but my feeling is that the savings are so great just by letting this year's contracts expire plus any other trades that dumping Dunn for purely monetary reasons doesn't make sense. You take the gamble that he becomes worth real baseball talent next year and in the worst case, the White Sox have spent money that they weren't going to spend on another player.
  8. Rios and Peavy should not need money sent with them, though I'd be happy to send some if it really is necessary. If I were him, I wouldn't bring that up until negotiations reach breaking point, though. I think the best route to take with Dunn is to keep him going into next season and you'll find that everyone will come calling for him in the expiration year of his contract.
  9. Saw this from last night's postgame notes woops
  10. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Jul 3, 2013 -> 12:26 PM) Rios is the best OF on the market right now. I don't think there's any question that he will not be around for the next contender, and so we need to take advantage of the fact that his value will never be higher. He's under contract until 2015 if we want him, so I hope he is around for our next contender. With that said, you can trade him, get something real nice back in return, and spend that salary on a similar player in the offseason AND have prospects.
  11. I don't think Texas is a suitor for Alexei, but they have the exact same UZR since their respective debut seasons. Andrus is by no means automatically a better defender.
  12. My outlook when I'm watching Sox games is to just wait for Dunn's next AB to see if he goes deep
  13. Man I thought that broke over after the fact. Oh, I see it did.
  14. Put Danks in to run??
  15. Gordon...cement your legacy as a kind of cool guy and okay player
  16. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 3, 2013 -> 09:13 PM) Is Viciedo a prospect or a bust? One out. None of the above?
  17. QUOTE (Noonskadoodle @ Jul 3, 2013 -> 09:11 PM) How about Neal Cotts with a 0.38 ERA on the year. Impressive. Somebody get Cliff Politte on the phone.
  18. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 3, 2013 -> 09:01 PM) I can't imagine Troncoso being on the roster much longer. Which is insane since we may be dropping up to 3 relievers in the near future.
  19. I give everyone a mulligan with Chris Davis up. I wish we had a Chris Davis. Or a Frank Thomas.
  20. I don't give a s*** about the draft. I'd rather watch us win and watch players play well and become part of the future. I'll get excited about our draft pick no matter where it is next year.

If you put any prospect with Dunn or Alexei just to dump their salary, you're an idiot. They're both playing well enough that people will be willing to eat their entire contracts at this point, even if there is a slight price to pay in terms of baseball talent.
