I remember the almost-comeback against Vancouver and the ultimate heartbreak. Then a more promising year, Raffi Torres demolishing Hossa, and me wanting to dismember Corey Crawford. Now...this. I was sheepish about continuing to be an active fan after the lockout, but I knew it wasn't the Blackhawks fault no matter how I felt about the NHL. I ponied up for NHL Gamecenter for the first time instead of just occasionally bootlegging the games while I was at school. The streak was already one of the most fun runs of hockey I've ever seenn...and then these playoffs. I've been a mess. All worth it now. Crazy to think about how different the status of a guy like Coach Q is after this compared to, say, a loss when we were down 3-1 to Detroit. I still remember how bad we were when I started watching hockey with my dad...we sucked, the home games weren't on TV, but then there was a glimmer of hope. A kid named Toews, a kid named Kane, and very soon a collection of budding stars made us relevant again. It felt so special then that I can't believe it took us so long to win again, but then again it seems impossible to win. /ramble /love these guys
