let me share my horror story: 2001 was the first year i went to opening day. me, my dad and my friend drove down there, using the 'backroutes' as my dad used to call them. we had no problem until we got to about a mile from the Park. traffic then was terrible. we werent able to get into the parking lots because of how backed up everythign was. we ended up parking on one of the side streets, and didnt get in the park til the 5th inning. since that day, i have not driven to the park. i always take the El (either the blue to red or the green all the way, depending on where im coming from). its fast, its cheap, and there are alot less hassels. of the 50 or so SOx games ive been to since 2001, only but a few times did i not use the El.

How many games are you going to this year?
smalls2598 replied to BridgeportHeather's topic in Pale Hose Talk
im going to try for 15+, and i currently only have tickets to opening day and the saturday game vs the cubs, which is actually a patio party. i went to 13 games last year, which included 2 in florida and one in detroit (worst.city.ever). this year, me and my fellow sox buddies are planning on going to try to go to cleveland, since its the closest away game during the regular season. -
are these updates on the EA sports webpage?

any idea why Kevin Millar hasnt been in the past 2 games? is he not part of the MLBPA like bonds? even so, they didnt have a 'fake' millar like they did bonds. just wondering. also...where do u go for these updates? i manually did all the updates last year, but a download would be alot better.

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Feb 1, 2005 -> 11:57 AM) Anybody remember Genies (I think that is the name) that used to be next door to The Thirsty Whale? BEST Dogs and fries ANYWHERE!!! yea, you're talking about Gene and Jude's, otherwise known as rubberdogs. they are excellent, but mixing rubberdogs and beer together usually ends up being a rough night for me!

i watched the first couple of seasons without missing an episode. then, for some reason, maybe due to night classes or whatever, i stopped watching it. but with southpark conviently being on before Chappelle last year, i started watching it again, and realized i was missing a damn funny show. so now i try to watch it when ever its on, and ill still catch episodes i missed from seasons 3-6. and o yeah, i have "They took our Jorrrrbsss!!!" as the ringtone for one of my friends, and it cracks me up every time he calls.

QUOTE(shakes @ Jan 18, 2005 -> 03:04 PM) Didn't we trade this years first round pick for the rights to the Deng draft pick? from the nba.com website: i dont remember exactly, but i think the bulls will keep the pick this year if it is 1, 2 or 3. next year, only the 1st overall pick would be protected. but im not 100% sure on this. another interesting tidbit on deng, from goduke.collegesports.com : he has a brother named Deng Deng?

Just ordered my Opening Day tickets
smalls2598 replied to Wise Master Buehrle's topic in Pale Hose Talk
a guy i work with has been buying tickets for opening day for the past 25 years, and sox reps contact him a few weeks prior to the public release. anyways, he orders 50 tickets and give 10-15 to me and my friends. he always requests bleacher seats. last year, the bleachers were already full, so they gave us either section 124 or 125 instead (cant remember which), for the same price as bleachers. anyways, can't wait til april 4th! -
QUOTE(qwerty @ Jan 11, 2005 -> 05:28 PM) Two people in your league? no, there are 10 people. but most of the other teams are alot younger...my team is definetly one of the oldest. i didnt do enough research in my first keeper league, so while guys were drafting people like marcus giles and miguel cabrera in the first 3 rounds, i was drafting the the more established players. it wasnt until the 6th round or so before i caught onto this. so you live and learn. thanks for the input backman. wright did play pretty well, and with the addition of beltran, and maybe even delgado, he can possibly produce at an even higher level than before. just hopefully he doesnt get the sophomore jinx.

whats up. i just wanted to see your opinions on who i should keep for my Keeper Baseball league. we are able to keep up to 17 players (yes, i know its alot). keep in mind: - starters: C, 1b, 2b, 3b, SS, 4 OF, UTL, 5 SP, 3 RP - Craig wilson WONT be eligible for C next year the definete keepers: - delgado - luis castillo - Renteria - mora - abreau - manny - c lee - maggs - hudson - lawerance - vasquez - isringhausen that leaves 5 more keepers out of the following: Wilson, Craig A. 1B PIT Wright, David 3B NYM Rowand, Aaron CF CHW Washburn, Jarrod SP ANA Westbrook, Jake RP CLE Takatsu, Shingo RP CHW Wilkerson, Brad B. 1B MON Utley, Chase 2B PHI DeJesus, David CF KC Monroe, Craig LF DET Blake, Casey 3B CLE Millar, Kevin 1B BOS Lowry, Noah RP SF Wolf, Randy SP PHI Julio, Jorge RP BAL Lopez, Rodrigo RP BAL Miller, Wade SP HOU i'm leaning towards keeping: - rowand - shingo - w. miller - c wilson - d. wright do you agree on my 'definete' keepers? how bout the guys im 'leaning towards'? what would you change?

Im Steve, 24 year old Elmhurst College graduate living in one of the northwest borders of chicago, Elmwood Park. my dad got me into sox baseball when i was young, and i remember my first pack of baseball cards contained a Melido Perez. i was so shocked i got a Sox player that he instantly became my favorite, even though i couldnt say his name (and he sucked) like many others, i also follow the bears, Illini, and long for a resurgence of the bulls (maybe we're finally on to something again). ive also been a big Steelers fan since the days of Gregg Lloyd and Rod Woodson (my two favorite football players). f*** the cubs and their bandwagon jumpin' fans. o, and merry christmas to all. (happy holidays to all of you policially correct people)

well, if u dont believe it, then dont call the number or go to the website, its your choice. but, this was the same situation a few years ago with home phone numbers. i signed up for it back then, and i have not received any telemarketer calls at home until they started posting their numbers on caller id.
