  1. well, it sucks to get no tickets. but i can take that money i planned on spending and have a good time celebrating at a bar.
  2. QUOTE(brijames @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 11:20 AM) Whats the weather forecast there in Chicago for this weekend? If Im lucky enough to get tickets I will be coming from MI this Sat or Sun. Thanks. i heard around 50's for gametime on Saturday and 40's on Sunday.
  3. who is annoucing these games?? i could have sworn i heard one guy call Biggio "bagwell" at one point. and then, after Berkman hit the homer, Ensberg hit the left field wall, and when heading for second, the same guy said something along the line of "Berkman tagged out at second". unless my ears were hearing the wrong thing, those guys need to do a better job.
  4. My dad and I used to talk about the sox all the time too. He would have loved to watch them this season. Not a sox game passed this year where i didn't think of him. But i know he's having a jolly ol' time watchin from above. to you dad. the only way i could be happier right now was if you were here with me to celebrate.
  5. I just got this email from a buddy....
  6. I was looking for some assistance with filling a list of player intro songs. I know some guys use multiple songs, but i'm looking for the main song used. As you can see, i've drawn a blank on most of the guys or just simply dont know the songs. Pods - Let's Go - Lil Jon Iguchi - Dye - Konerko - Harvestor of Sorrow - Metallica Carl - Drop it like it's hot - Snoop Rowand - Jay Z/Linkin Park song (forgot the names) AJP - Creede - Uribe - Widger - Willie - Blum - Frank- Timo - I plan on making a playlist for my Ipod. I think someone created a topic like this a few weeks ago, but the Search function is turned off, and i dont want to scroll through the 80 something pages. thanks guys.
  7. QUOTE(Art Vandelay @ Oct 11, 2005 -> 03:30 PM) Congrats! I also work for a sinking ship....also looking for another job. I envy you So the Import/Export business isn't working out??
  8. thanks guys. maybe i'll see some of ya there. I'll be the one with the Crede jersey-shirt (i don't think too many where that).
  9. Hey guys and gals. Before tommorrow's game, a buddy and I plan on going to Jimbo's before the game starts, but i've never been there before. I'm not too familiar with the southside and whenever I go to Sox games, i'm only walking from the EL to the park. Can someone please tell me the directions and how far of a walk it is from USCF to Jimbo's? Thanks in advance.
  10. i'm wearing my Crede jersey-shirt for the 4th time in 5 days. Monday at the Rally, Tuesday at the game, Wednesday at home watching the game, and now Friday at work. of course it hasn't been washed. you understand, superstisitions....right?' (just thought i'd share that with all of ya'll) GO SOX
  11. I jumped out of my seat, high fived everyone who was watching the game with me, then went outside and screamed "GOOCH HIT A THREE RUN HOMER!!!" ...... you see, we kicked a friend out of the house cuz we felt he was bad luck (we have some stupid superstitions in my house), so i had to make sure it was loud enough so he could hear it. we then let him back in when the inning was over
  12. QUOTE(robinventura23 @ Oct 5, 2005 -> 11:44 AM) I counted 5: -AJ's 1st HR -Konerko -Uribe -Pods HR -Contreras I'm pretty sure AJ's 2nd hr also got a curtain call.
  13. Definetly the best game i have ever been to in my life. The crowd was amazing. But the players were even better. GO SOX!!
  14. i called in sick today so i could go. but i really didn't feel like going to work anyways.
  15. Thank you everyone for all your warm comments; it definetly made my day, and it's only 842am. I'm also sorry to hear about the loved ones you have also lost. But like a few of you have said, they are all smiling from above So let's go get 'em Sox! Keep up the dream year!
  16. Although it is a good day to be a Sox fan, I'm also a bit depressed. My dad passed away earlier this year; he was a huge Sox fan. Of course, he is the one who made my brother, sister and myself into a Sox fan, and also converted my mom from Cubs to Sox. He was the one that first brought me to Sox games at Old Comiskey Park and taught me all the rules, how to keep score and all the stories of Sox History. He was there with me at a 93 playoff game vs the Jays, and we watched the Sox win the 2000 Central Division. And after turning 21, we shared quite a few beers while watching the Cubs collapse in the 2003 playoffs. As stupid or odd as it may have seemed, I dedicated this season to him. And when the Sox had everything going their way in the first half, it seemed that maybe he had something to do with it! So now that the Sox have wrapped up a playoff spot, it feels great, but it would be so much better if he was with me to celebrate. There is nothing more I'd love tonight than to share a celebratory beer with you. So to you Dad; the Sox did this for you!
  17. I screamed, high-fived the guys i was watching the game with in my basement, then ran upstairs looking for my mom and sister. Once i noticed they were outside walking the dog, i opened the front door and at the top of my lungs screamed: "CREDE HITS A WALK OFF HOMER!!!! SOX WIN!!!!! of course, the people riding bikes and walking on the street probably thought i was nuts screaming at 1030 at night. But i had to make sure my mom and sis could hear it, and boy did they (they were only a couple houses down, but i didn't see them at first!)
  18. I had the Belkin transmitter and the Griffen iTrip, and I thought they both sucked. I could never find a good channel. I also couldnt stand trying to listen to digital music with radio reception. To solve my problem, I just bought a Monster iCable and connected it to the back of my Pioneer radio, and viola...great sound. It only cost about $30 from Best Buy.
  19. use Edunds.com, its a very valuable site. I used the site probably 20 times a day back in 2003 before i made my purchase (a 2003 Monte Carlo SS). You can look up pretty much any car, and find prices, pictures, options availible, Tips and Advice on how to buy a car, and there are even links to get a hold of sales managers to get quotes. Give it a try; soo much info is availible on the site.
  20. I got my first car as a high school senior in '98; it was a crappy $900 1992 Dodge Spirit. The car lasted me a whole 3 months before i got my next crap car, a 1993 Chevy Corsica. But both were bought with my money, and i paid for all the expenses. But yes, i was happy because it was mine. Now, the kid down the block from me is a 16 year old punk who would probably fit in pretty well on that MTv show a few of you mentioned. He demanded that his parents buy him a new BMW for his 16th birthday. Well, they said no, so he had to settle for a brand new 2006 Jeep Loredo instead. doesn't that just suck for him?
  21. As a kid, me and my friends used to call him 'The Thumb'. why is that you may ask?? if you draw a smiley face on your thumb, you then have a resemblance to Ron's face. And when he came up to bat, we used to hold out our thumbs as a salute to him (yes, i had issues as a kid).
  22. Ah yes, I have also become addicted to Sudoku. I found today's puzzle easier than yesterday's, altough the Sun Times claims the puzzles get harder as the week progresses.
  23. I have been offered A.J. Burnett for Huston Street in my keeper league, and i'm not sure if i want to pull the trigger. Even though Burnett is 6 years older than Street, not many closers have been successful year after year after year. Then again, AJ is very injury prone. In my league, you can play 5 starters and 3 closers per week. my current starting staff consists of: Tim Hudson, Jeremy Bonderman, Danny Haren, Roy Halladay, John Garland, Javier Vazquez, Chris Capuano, Chris Young. closers: Huston Street, Dustin Hermanson, Derrick Turnbow and Danys Baez. Would AJ really be that much of an upgrade to my pitching staff? How worse is it to start Baez over Street each week? Do i really want to trade for a guy 6 years older and injury prone? those are the questions I'm pondering. Opinions?
