You don't see it as much but it's hard to prove tendonitis or a hamstring tweak. I have a hard time imagining either player going along with it. It seems farfetched and would be sad that we'd have to sit one of two pitchers who combine to make around $14 million yearly.

Another positive is that Buehrle has had too many innings the last few years so if he misses a few starts coupled with Ozzie's new alleged policy-maybe Mark won't have to hang 250 innings up there again. I worry about BMac because he has pitched great trying to put pressure on KW while having none on himself. Now all the eyes of Chicago are on him so I hope he can still continue to perform well. If Buehrle misses much time, I feel our chances are severely hurt. Maybe he won't miss too much. I don't think though that optimism of his departure over his previously poor Aprils is justified because perhaps his bad April will become a bad May since that would be his first month. That said, last year's April was probably just an aberration. Let's keep our fingers crossed for better news and less swelling

his reunion wiht Rick Peterson will be interesting. He still hasn't been released by tampa so there are a few more stops on the major league experience -
Guillen: McCarthy 'best pitcher we have right now'
Punch and Judy Garland replied to Jabroni's topic in Pale Hose Talk
He doesn't have anywhere near Rick Ankiel's stuff but his command is very good. -
246/319/420 with mediocre speed? no thanks

Sox vs. "Insert Location"Angels "Location?"
Punch and Judy Garland replied to Mr. Showtime's topic in 2005 Season in Review
Angels fans if anyone should complain about lack of attention. But, with Stone being a Chicago guy and the Angels losing-it wa probably to be expected. I though that JB and Stone were a great combo that I'd like to hear more were it doable. -
Sox vs. "Insert Location"Angels "Location?"

I don't want to hear a lot of ripping of Brantley on here after all the whining that's been done here lately about the national media. I was very impressed with B-Mac as it was the first time I've seen him. I think you give Contreras half a season and if he's his 5.50 self, you move him to one of the teams that covet him (Arizona and Florida). -
I think Dye will be productive but I wouldn't hold my breath for 305-31-99. I really wonder how many steals Pods will end up with. You would think he'd have an increase with such an awful obp last year but more than 70 is hard to imagine

Maybe they'll do a story on the ridiculous whining Sox fans do. Seriously, reading some of the posts on this site lately makes me wonder if we're getting a red sox like inferiority complex. I think its pathetic

We aren't near the top ten in farm systems yet. We could be. But you have to commit to it and I don't think we will. Committing means signings guys after the first round with first round money or making an impact in Latin America. Most importantly, it means holding your cards. How many chances did the Angels have to trade Kotchman, Mathis, or MCPherson to get a shot in the arm to make a run at the WS? Many chances. But they held their cards. Our GM has more or less said he is not willing to hold prospects in general. This is not to say that we still can't have a very good system. We can. But an elite system comes with heavy committment both financially and strategically. And, oh yeah, a hell of a lot of luck.

Yeah I haven't seen too many Denver fans around here but I too find it interesting how many Phin fans there are. Edge kind of seems like less than a great guy to have on the team. He never causes problems with the law and seems nice enough but he doesn't sound like a winning football player-although a great talent.

QUOTE(thomsonmi @ Mar 10, 2005 -> 11:47 PM) What's funny too is that everyone in my office is a Rockies fan and I am the only one who recognizes what a great future that team has with guys like Jeff Francis, Ian Stewart, and Chris Nelson in the minors. So it would seem anyways. The prosecution seeks to admit Jon Rauch, Joe Borchard, and Mike Caruso into evidence

ankiel converted to outfield
Punch and Judy Garland replied to thedoctor's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
I am now of the opinion (I didn't invent the theory unfortunately) that this is a ruse organized by the brilliant Tony La Russa and Walt Jocketty. They will now be able to send him down the minors, out of options, because he will clear waivers as an outfielder where he wouldn't have as a pitcher. No team can put Rick on their 40 man as an outfielder. -
Levine on Borchard's stock + Harris to Milwaukee?
Punch and Judy Garland replied to Jabroni's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Let's face facts. Even though his attitude is great he wouldn't still be here if we hadn't committed 5.3 million to him. And I don't blame management for wanting to keep him to see if they can get a return on their investment. If it were my money, I'd probably feel the same way -
Notes: El Duque gets 'B'etter results
Punch and Judy Garland replied to greasywheels121's topic in Pale Hose Talk
actually he's not a good character guy. The only reason the A's dumped him was because he was thought to be too wild and not good in the clubhouse -
I'm more worried about how many runners a game are going to be thrown out at home this year. I know it's spring but I was having Wendell" Green-light" Kim flashbacks earlier this week. I sometimes think Cora would challenge Guerrero with Big Ben Davis

practically no reward. He hit around the old Borchard line in his last go around. He has 1 career steal (and tell me that's no big deal when all this board has been praising lately is speed and defense when Jeremy has neither. People are glad that Lee is gone for not fitting our new mold and then they like the idea of having this stiff). Giambi has never been a run producer or a scorer. Lastly, his career slugging percentage has been eclipsed by Timoniel F'n Perez twice. -

Frank would be a rather sucky choice to bat leadoff anyways -
Yeah I have it both ways too. I rip Cubs fans for being yuppies and then can't stand fans who don't even know who Shingo is. Oh well. My cross to bear I guess. Borch didn't take the money and run. He's not Zack Randolph or aEddy Curry in 06. He hasn't been worht the money but that doesn't mean he stole it from the Sox. He's tried very hard and done everything the organization asked him. I think his only shot now is a change of scenery.
