  1. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 15, 2013 -> 12:49 AM) Why wouldn't the same exact argument hold for Cito Gaston? He also has two World Series titles... Gaston is 69 years old and retired.
  2. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jul 13, 2013 -> 06:24 PM) OPS over .750. Get that OBP .15 higher and he's a great hitter. That may be asking a bit much.
  3. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 13, 2013 -> 12:05 PM) What about Gordon Beckham? Boers and Bernstein are always going on and on about how Gordon loves the ladies and prides himself on his conquests around town. Should he also get one? "the most high profile white sox fan, President Obama, is making me late to the park because of his motorcade..."#comeonmrpreswegotthecubs Yes, because we all know Gordon Beckham is more important, lol. He makes a higher salary, after all. I think he meant against you.
  4. QUOTE (Jillian Michaels' Abs @ Jul 12, 2013 -> 03:33 PM) Why on earth is the Sox BEST hitter batting 8th and 9th consistently? #fireVentura Not sure what to make of it, but Beckham's average in the 8th spot is .050 higher than any other spots in the order.
  5. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jul 11, 2013 -> 08:48 AM) So you are essentially replacing Adam Dunn with Brian McCann. You'll almost certainly have to eat salary if you move Dunn too. Let's compare ages 21 through 29 for both, shall we? McCann - .280/.352/.477/.829 Dunn - .249/.383/.520/.903 On what planet is that a good idea? Why are Dunn's stats from 4-12 years ago relevant?
  6. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jul 10, 2013 -> 04:00 PM) You can't believe it? These are the same guys that made the decision to put Chris Sale in the bullpen last year. I know! For 1 whole inning!
  7. QUOTE (robinventura23 @ Jul 10, 2013 -> 09:44 AM) Where was this last year when we played them and it mattered? The Sox beat them six times last year!
  8. There is a fantasy forum, but more people will probably see it here. http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?showforum=15
  9. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 9, 2013 -> 03:01 PM) Dear Wite, Remember when I got you hooked on Oberon? It is time for you to enjoy a new, delicious beverage. 80-Acre Hoppy Wheat Beer Not only is this beauty 5.5%, but you'll be belching up a storm due to the added carbinations. It is teh good. Steve, if you like that, next time you are in St. Louis, check out 4 Hands Brewing's Contact High. Its a deliciously hoppy wheat beer without wheat yeast.
  10. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 8, 2013 -> 10:34 PM) http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/mlb-big-leag...-213858535.html Anna Benson very much NOT quiet... A lesson for the kids. You can have your fun with strippers, but do not marry one.
  11. QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 8, 2013 -> 04:15 PM) I can't believe they would be willing to let Freese go. Carpenter also hasn't rated as a good 3B while his UZR at 2B this year has been excellent. I'll settle for Matt Adams though as there is just no place for him on their team without injuries. Prior to this season Carpenter had played 5 games at 2nd base and over 300 at 3rd in the minors. You don't have to believe it, but that is their plan (at the moment).
  12. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 8, 2013 -> 02:14 PM) Big Brother fans - this is slightly NSFW - Amanda makes a "bra" out of band-aids and parades around the house. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2xcnXNQeHuc She has huge fake knockers, and I can't look away. Bra? More like pasties.
  13. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jul 8, 2013 -> 02:18 PM) It would be nice wouldn't it. Even a guy like Kolten Wong. Wong is knocking on the door but they have Carpenter. Being a Cardinals fan would be awesome man. Pretty sure they plan to move Carpenter to 3rd next year and have Wong play 2nd. Unless Freese saves the World Series again and it would be bad PR to let the hometown hero go.
  14. How many times in the last 10 years have the Sox included money in a deal? I can remember only once and it was the exact amount they were receiving from a team from another deal.
  15. QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 7, 2013 -> 02:55 PM) When I think of bad lineups, I think of this one: http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/CL...200510010.shtml People were pissed that Oz called off the dogs after we clinched and we still beat their ass 5/9 were everyday starters
  16. QUOTE (gatnom @ Jul 7, 2013 -> 11:48 AM) I used the term friend pretty loosely haha. I couldn't believe nobody would agree with me, even behind her back. I felt like I was taking crazy pills. If you can't spot the meathead within 10 minutes of talking about the Bears, then you are the meathead.
  17. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 5, 2013 -> 10:25 AM) 9th career walk-off homer for Dunn, only Pujols & Papi have more. What an un-clutch loser. Yeah, that was huge. No telling where the Sox would be without that win yesterday.
  18. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 3, 2013 -> 01:52 PM) I'm sure they don't, but in the end, other than replacing him on the football field, Hernandez's arrest won't hurt their bottom line. People won't stop watching the Patriots or the NFL because of it. Well, I can think of one person who will.
  19. If you like turkey burgers, try this recipe: http://lepetitpierogi.blogspot.com/2009/04...ey-burgers.html I make these all the time. Instead of curry paste I use Sriracha and I just use olive oil instead of sesame oil. I also omit the peanut butter because I couldn't taste it, if I want some I just put a little on the burger. Put some sliced cucumber and tomato on top, oh man! I've never tried the aioli.
  20. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jul 2, 2013 -> 06:27 PM) Alright guys I am looking for another show or two to start watching. I am looking for one that is in season 1 or 2 that won't take awhile to get caught up. I am into the Dexter, Criminal Minds, Breaking Bad, Castle, Homeland type of shows. I started watching Graceland which I like so far Any suggestions?? Fishing With John
  21. You are at a salad bar and the only dressing choices are Ranch & French. You know nothing about ingredients or nutritional value of either. Which is the better choice? Assume you like both equally.
  22. I keep seeing people bring up the $25M that teams will be receiving from TV revenue next year. Most seem to think that this will allow the Sox to go out and spend more money next off season. My question is this: Since every team is getting the some amount, will it really matter to the White Sox? I remember an experiment on supply & demand we did back in school where everybody was given $100 to spend on necessities & luxuries-essentially bidding for the goods. Then everyone was given $1000 to spend in the same way. At the end nobody really had any more to show for the extra money, we all just paid more for the same stuff. I’m sure some teams, probably Miami, will pocket a good chunk of that money, but if say 25 teams put it all toward payroll, will they all just pay more for the same players?
