  1. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jan 30, 2014 -> 09:21 PM) Well, his point is that the coverage wasn't as great as Sherman would like to think...he's trying to put the blame on himself instead of Crabtree. Yeah, I don't think this is hard to realize. He's taking the blame, but essentially he's saying that Crabtree had Sherman beat, the play developed like the 49ers thought it would, and there was a nice sized hole for Kaep to throw the ball through, but he missed his spot badly by underthrowing it allowing an out of position Sherman to get his fingers on it and tip it.
  2. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Jan 31, 2014 -> 11:56 AM) Some think the site may not be enough land for a stadium and the required parking. It's also GREAT leverage against St. Louis to say you already own the land. I think it cost them close to $100m. Compare that to the $500m they are trying o get out of St Louis, it's a great investment you can turn around and sell if you get what you want. I think it's a waste anyway considering LA is already building Farmer's Field.
  3. QUOTE (Mr. Showtime @ Jan 31, 2014 -> 01:45 PM) I saw a ton of great reviews about it online. From the video's I saw it does look like a fun game. For the longest time I just played GTA 4 without doing the missions and just causing havoc. I really enjoyed the story and seeing what happened to Niko and Roman in that game. Many people didn't enjoy Niko and Roman. I thought it was different and it wasn't so bad. I did like some of the characters. You should really play The Ballad of Gay Tony for that game. Very very fun. As far as GTAV, I play as much as I can. Hard with two kids, one being a newborn. It's the only game I pick up and play though.
  4. QUOTE (Brian @ Jan 31, 2014 -> 05:07 PM) I forgot what grass looks like. As did I. We plan on moving to LA in about 3 years, and my son, who loves LA said he'll miss the snow. I told him, after awhile, you won't. This winter, I've had him help me shovel(no snowblowing) the snow. After about the 3rd time, he tells me he can't wait for LA and this weather could kick rocks. Now, everyday he's asking when are we moving. Chicago summers are the best, but the inconsistency of weather, day to day, makes it too miserable for me and my family.
  5. QUOTE (TheTruth05 @ Jan 30, 2014 -> 02:02 PM) They shoulda had Jake Peavy perform at halftime. It's a big game....oh wait, I get it, you want to see choking. Either way, I don't see Seattle being able to keep up with Denver's offense, even after slowing them down. I also hope D Thomas goes for 250 yards receiving over that sorry CB. Sherman is not a thug, he's a grade a idiot. I didn't see him do that talking when Crabtree burned him in prior games.
  6. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jan 26, 2014 -> 09:18 PM) It was pathetic. Bob Costas was going on and on about how Derrek Mckey was limited athletically/lateral movement wise but was still such a great defender because he knew how to utilize hand-checking. GMAFB. Paul George, Tony Allen, Andre Igudala without handechecking >>> Derrek Mckey with handchecking. Defense should be played with your feet and should be about challenging shots. Also, bigs had no responsibility back then other than to stay in the paint and challenge short shots. Now you have to be able to cover the pick and roll, cover the weakside and challenge long-range shooters (love, Anderson, etc). Joakim Noah > Alonzo Mourning defensively Disagree strongly. You have zone defense now which stops guys from getting into the paint, not George or Iguodala. Allen would be a great defender in any era. But it's ridiculous how you can pack the paint and play the passing lanes all day long. It's how Larry Hughes made his money. He was an awful one on one defender. And Joakim Noah > Mourning? Really. That's a friggin joke.
  7. It's easy to sum up last night. If you are buddies with Triple H, then you ate good last night. Even Nash got a payday last night. New Age Outlawz win the titles. Orton keeps his title. Batista is going to main event WM. This has Triple H all over it, not Vinny Mac. What they really need, especially if Vinny can't handle the everyday writing, is to get Shane back and check Triple H. Until that happens, it's going to continue to go down hill unless we get more pipebombs from AJ, Punk and a bunch of others like Ziggler and Bryan.
  8. I wouldn't mike Dice K or Tommy Hanson on this team.
  9. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jan 21, 2014 -> 07:57 PM) Pretty sure that belly button tat has been around since before he left Yeah, the belly button has been around. Also, Vinny Mac also hated the tight jeans look he was rocking, so I wouldn't expect that to last long.
  10. QUOTE (Brian @ Jan 18, 2014 -> 05:37 PM) Awful pick the day it happened. Made no sense, especially than to go sign Kirk. Who out there was a better pick after Teague?
  11. QUOTE (Brian @ Jan 14, 2014 -> 05:43 AM) DB beats Wyatt in the show opener, enters Rumble around 10 and wins. Beats Orton at Mania. I fully expect DB to beat Wyatt in the opener, enter 5th, last a long time, Batista enters at 29 and eliminates him and nothing comes of it. I don't know how the E can ignore the reaction he gets and not do something at Mania with it. I hope the crowd craps on Batista. I actually liked him as a heel right before he left and sort of hope he returns like that but he won't. Too many babyfaces right now. Or bring Sheamus back as a hell somehow. Shock me outside of the New Age OUtlaws walking out on Punk. I fell asleep around 8 so only saw the ending on youtube. I think Batista will come back similar to how he left. He wanted less rated G stuff and he's already gotten into it with Alberto on Twitter. Spotlight Dave isn't coming back to be some prissy wrestler.
  12. QUOTE (Big Hurtin @ Jan 10, 2014 -> 07:26 PM) <!--quoteo(post=2917454:date=Jan 10, 2014 -> 07:35 PM:name=RockRaines)-->QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jan 10, 2014 -> 07:35 PM) <!--quotec-->Hey. Anyone know how to convert YouTube video to mp3 so I can play it on iPod. Instructions are for Mac OS download and use ClicktoFlash extension in Safari https://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/38007/clicktoflash Load video in Youtube right click and download video (this doesn't work with all videos.) open in Quicktime - file / export audio only (creates .m4a file) You can play the .m4a (AAC) file on an Ipod open in Itunes - right click / create mp3 version (mp3 encoder needs to be selected in preferences for import settings) You can also go to Vixy.net and paste the URL of the video. From there, it will convert it online for free and give you a download link once finished.
  13. QUOTE (Jake @ Jan 9, 2014 -> 10:34 PM) LeBron has never cheated on his girlfriend I'm pretty sure he has. I remember reading for one of his parties at TAO in Vegas, he was super frisky with the waitresses. And this was when it was known he was with his baby mother and now wife.
  14. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 11, 2014 -> 09:59 AM) Is that a new rule? Because somehow Miami was able to do it the year they assembled the big 3 and also gave the MLE to Miller. Similarly that's how the Bulls assembled their bench after signing Boozer. Yes, I believe that's in the new CBA which was agreed upon in the lockout season. I honestly believe you should move Noah now before you end up in a situation like you did with Deng where he demands more money in his next deal and he's on the wrong side of 30 with the injury concerns. Plus, for the production he gives you, I think he's pretty overrated.
  15. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jan 11, 2014 -> 08:33 AM) The Cubs should have plenty of room for Tanaka. This is a team that was rocking $140M+ payrolls a few years ago and still has been over $100M under the Ricketts family despite a big chunk of revenue being used to pay off their debt. On top of that, they just got $25M in extra national TV deal money. Given that they only have $32M in payroll committments for 2015, there is no doubt in my mind they could easily fit Tanaka in their long-term plans. Eh, I don't know. In all honesty, from everything I've read and heard on the radio, the Ricketts really seem like a family who took a chance on their favorite franchise being available and hopping at the chance to buy them, not realizing how much overhead goes into running the franchise and all the improvements the Cubs needed. Theo and Jed have wanted to add high priced FA's to mix in with their young prospects. Tom seems to think though, that Theo is like Friedman and can simply just fill the team with prospects.
  16. Realistically, to be able to field the most complete team, you would have to trade Noah in order to afford Melo and fill out the rest of the roster. Possibly Taj as well. I'm only concerned about the first 8 men in the rotation. That's what you go with playoff time. And only 5 can play on the court at a time. Rose Butler Melo Mirotic If you get a high enough pick, Embiid, but if not, sign a guy like Dalembert who's just a big body. say we go with a guy like Daly Then you can also draft two wing players which this draft is deep on. Say you can get Lavine from UCLA and worst case scenario Kyle Anderson, also from UCLA. Lavine is a shooter who can get off his own shot whenever he wants and he isn't small. He has a thin frame which he can build out once he gets to the league. Anderson has shown this year he can score, but he's a tall point forward who rebounds and creates and plays excellent defense. Bring back Augustin and trade for someone like Jason Thompson to fill up the backup 4/5 spots.
  17. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Dec in the SB. 9, 2013 -> 10:30 PM) Quick playoff predictions: Niners over Pack Eagles over Saints Seahawks over Niners Panthers over Eagles Seahawks over Panthers Chiefs over Colts Chargers over Bengals Broncos over Chargers Chiefs over Pats Chiefs over Broncos Seahawks over Chiefs Im taking the Patriots and 49ers I
  18. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 23, 2013 -> 05:00 PM) Did anyone see this amazing Grantland article about the proposed "Draft Wheel" the NBA may or may not be considering? This s*** is f***ing dope. The Tanking Solution I think... I think I might be down for this. I need to think about it more, though. There are pros and cons. Praying for an elite class the years you're in the top 6 would be a blast. Watching a team like the Heat land a monster because it's "their turn" would be the opposite of a blast. It would be awful for the reasons other people already stated. Imagine a team like the Heat or OKC getting Wiggins or Embiid this year. Imagine the Raptors or Hawks getting someone like Anthony Bennett every time their turn comes up because it's a weak draft or the best players rather wait for when the Lakers or Heat turns come up. If anything, this type of movement makes the rich teams richer and the poor teams poorer.
  19. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Dec 20, 2013 -> 12:19 AM) Pretty good couple days for Illinois recruiting. Good to see. Basketball or Football?
  20. NBA2k14 looks great, but I've heard online is even more of a pain on the next gen. I've only played offline, but that stinks. Also, you don't get updated rosters right away. Fifa is the game I want to try. Everyone I know has said that game is perfection on next gen.
  21. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Dec 21, 2013 -> 09:06 AM) One of my students here in China said that was their new favorite movie (Now You See Me)....they really enjoyed the feeling they got from watching it. While some would side with The Prestige or Illusionist, the group dynamic and the more modern-day feel of Now You See Me was really appealing to a lot of moviegoers. It struck a chord, that whole 99% vs. 1% thing I guess. It had great acting, a great plot, the right amount of twists, and then a very satisfying ending for me. I have it easily in my top 10 movies of 2013. Actually, probably top 5.
  22. Finally got to see Now You See Me. I thought it was a great movie and the ending was very very satisfying.
  23. QUOTE (Waygodai @ Dec 20, 2013 -> 07:55 PM) No, no, no perish the thought Kyle --- having fun at a sports event??? That's unpossible! Fun, competition, sudden surges in endorphins, serotonin, dopamine, chatting up a random hottie.... are the most diabolical inventions since the beach balls and the Wave. Im totes for the tank now, my man. Just wait til we get Wiggins AND Randle AND Exum next year, plus Eddie Curry and Tyson Chandler? Suh-weet! Think of the wicked starting line-up we could field on xbox by 2062, at latest... sick! No way Bron-Bron, Chuckles or Big Aristotle couldn ignore the Bulls on Twitter then! Not like Bron-Bron or Brian Westbrook could awkwardly step on someone's foot tomorrow or whatever and suddenly the field is wide-open again, either... If you're best plan is waiting for the league's best player who as durable as anyone to severely injure themselves, then your plan is poo. And I think you meant to say Russell Westbrook, right?
  24. QUOTE (Jake @ Dec 21, 2013 -> 02:29 AM) Hard to make sense of the recent run. A bunch of losses on the West Coast. Beat the Heat. Drop some "easy" home games. Beat Milwaukee in Milwaukee despite losing to them at home. Drop winnable games against Toronto and Orlando. Lose two away games against two of the best in the west. Meanwhile, you've had 4 starting point guards, 5 starting wing players, and...well....let's look at it this way. Every player on the active roster has started a game except Erik Murphy. Carlos Boozer has been your healthiest player and the only one to play in every game -- Joakim Noah has been your second healthiest player, missing just one game. We've struggled to put an NBA-caliber player at the PG position, which has all kinds of rippling effects. Lots of reasons that, maybe, the team is better than the one that has looked like s*** recently. Of course, there are reasons that there could be more of the same ahead of us. Hence the disagreement. This team simply can't score. It's what all the naysayers were saying about the team, even with Rose. With him, this team had a tough time scoring, hence them trying to install a new offense. Without Rose, this team probably couldn't outscore a good college program. The Bulls should've blown it up a long time ago and depending on one man to provide everything offensively was a disaster waiting to happen. Tank Tank Tank We need as high as picks as we can possibly get. No reason to make the playoffs to get bounced by Indiana or Miami in the 1st round.
  25. QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 16, 2013 -> 02:32 PM) You know, Joakim Noah is not the first 6'10 or taller guy to be plagued with injuries. That's kind of the norm. No, it's not. Cousins isn't getting injured every other day despite having a much larger frame. Dwight, minus about a year is the same. If I could trade Noah for Embiid right now, I'd do it. Because Embiid, at this stage, is more advanced than Noah. Noah doesn't do anything special.
