2025-26 NFL Season Thread
I both want it resolved, but I do get annoyed at the PR push. It's great the bears just want infrastructure support, but --come on -- they are already at a location that has infrastructure support. They are asking the state pay to help them move when it is their choice to move. In my world, because teams do not commit themselves to the state/city in these deals, I'd prefer the world where the NFL entity pays for these stadiums, and the owners are leased to the NFL, paying back with interest the investment of the NFL and back to those owners. The NFL would add real estate to its portfolio which it could use to gain access to more money for growth. But that' snot how it is, the teams beg for money then still threaten to leave. It's also an infrastructure project that has little utility WITHOUT the team...so it's just such a stupid world. But Chicagoland is certainly better with the bears, and there are economic benefits to having a team that go beyond dollars and cents. But f*** kevin warren and the mccaskeys. Fans are being exploited to drain every cent, then they want their political mind too.

Chicago White Sox's Offseason FA Signings Trades Megathread
I love when we try to will the sox to sign someone and there is literally nothing at all from the agent or major writers on it but we are like "dark mode Getz" lol. Sox fans DID will KW to sign Iguchi though, so some parallel.

I'm not sure if murakami is a good idea, but I'm holding onto it just as some sign that the white sox are a major league baseball team that exists and is participating in baseball like the others.

Lack of love for Sosa
yeah, this is a big thing. I think Lenyn's bat has been so great compared to what I'd expect, but if you picture meidroth last year you picture that crazy creative slide to second base around a tag. You picture Lenyn it's not stepping on first base by like 3 feet when fielding a throw. Lenyn was unfortunate to spend his life since age 16 in the white sox org. Kinda does that.

Just an extremely los angeles angels signing.

You sound like you know more, I'm more commenting in that I don't believe the sox will sign helpful free agents, but I leave an open area for DHs, 1b, and Relief (also known as the positions you can get under 80 million)

I unno man. I'm not saying Murakami is a sure bet, but if there is one signing that wouldn't surprise me it would be going after a high profile first baseman from abroad.

2025-26 NFL Season Thread
It is astonishing seeing the records, NFC must have really beat the crap out of AFC this year to have this kind of imbalance. For much of the first 10 games was still in a 'waiting to exhale' mode, with caleb and all of it. Finally getting to settle in and just watch good, sometimes great, and rarely bad football team. While still so nervous about how Poles can take us to next level on d-line, it's hard to watch the bears in November/December and not wonder where we'd be without loveland/burden. Not eyepopping stats, but such a huge part of what we do.

Harris reminds me of the type of guy Pitt could poach and end up coaching 20 years there

I was unsure, thought Crews was still riding high then. Can’t trust my memory anymore.

I don’t even remember the last time the presumed #1 guy in winter was 1.1.

Can’t wait for chilis nickname for Roch.

While getting Roch is nice, it’s as much about getting the extra $2mill or so for the rest of the draft. I may be off but, whatever the delta. Nice to have.

I’m struggling to care about anything except winning the draft lottery.

Sox linked to Patrick Wisdom
I also wonder if this is just Bruce getting used by wisdoms agent since he’d certainly know Bruce is dumb.

Sox linked to Patrick Wisdom
It's still a good thing, but also totally a "boy these US free agents are expensive, maybe lets kick the tires on the NPL and KBO retreads"

We were so excited they finally have a scout based in Japan then, as always, horrified at the results.
