  1. Really? They have such a good rotation already
  2. I think it must be an old thread as it's missing Purdy (And Divito ehhh) I think there's definitely talent that gets missed for QB in later rounds, just weird to downgrade a QB class for the lack of later round talent. Like oh man there is no Desmond Ridder in this class.
  3. Earlier this year I was wondering where the hell the playmaking Derozan went that started his bulls years/ended with the spurs. Damn has that version come back. The whole team is in sync though. So yeah, Billy Donovan…good coach?
  4. "It's good at the top, but it's a bad year to need a guy after the first round," an AFC general manager added to Miller. I feel like this is such a weird way to grade a QB class. How many years to people need to grab a guy after the first round?
  5. He had a 12% walk rate just last year I’m AAA against a 14% K rate.
  6. He had a 120 wRC+ as a 20 year old call up from AA! You guys are insane.
  7. While I missed the end, once again just an extremely watchable game. One thing I saw on Twitter that could be a drag - this 6-3 stretch has come at a cost of extremely high usage on Derozan and White. Secondly - it's crazy how much Caruso impacts a game. He may go down as one of my favorite fan-tier level watches of all time. But they gotta shop him. He deserves to do this on a championship contender.
  8. I think at this point I don't care either way, I don't like the idea of losing out just because it may mean regression from some good young players (or injuries that linger into next year). I had fun rooting for some meaningful football yesterday, I'll take some wins.
  9. I'm glad we've introduced AJSS as an acronym we all understand because I straight up cannot ever remember the name after the hyphen despite googling it 20 times. Definitely smith-schuster ruined this guys name forever.
  10. AJSS flew up 4 levels as a 20 year old and put up 85 innings of dominant ball in the minors and good starts for a playoff team. Grissom flew up to MLB from AA as a 20 year old and threw up a 120 wRC+. Reports have been that his defense has improved as a 2b last year, though it's true, right now as a 22 year old he has more work to do to be passable at 2b. That's a strong start of players who can handle the moment, and play up to competition. Owen Murphy (IL HS woop) was one of the youngest starting pitchers in A+ last year. Didier Fuentes was one of the youngest pitchers in carolina league. His mix reminds me of what was successful with Mena. I get that when you are dreaming of 3 top 100 guys from Baltimore they are giving it makes people mad not to get it. But I ...would really like the above. Atlanta has shown itself really strong at finding players with the mental makeup/growth mindset to handle tough assignments and thrive. Let's lean into that.
  11. BUNTING AND DEFENSE THATS WHAT SOUTHSIDE DOES
  12. You know...I feel like while it's acceptable for me, bmags, to want profiles, they truly should just be looking for best players back. While i'm mostly team TINSTAAPP, it declines for pitchers who have nearly arrived (why i'm still a smith-schyver fan and think braves have a good return if it is put together). Hahn didn't go for profiles as much as really wanted top prospects as cited by mlb pipeline so he could brag to the fans. If you were to tell me next year Ryan Pepiot is a better pitcher than Tyler Glasnow, I would not tell you i'm shocked. However, from dodgers side I get it, at some points you don't want to risk the timing when everything else is set. For Rays, thats always the risk they'll take. Pepiot is like the prototypical Rays pitching prospect from a decade ago where they would hold those guys forever in AAA until ripened and squeeze their prime out before discarding them. Except the whole 64 innings thing. Again, better for the rays. I guess long way of saying, I hope they aren't solely focused on profiles. I definitely would want a bunch of top hitting, left handed prospects from the orioles. But Getz really needs to hit on the cease trade and not just accumulate, because this system is an inch deep.
  13. I think that's sorta true, sorta not. I'm not sure how much compensation you'd assign to it, but clearly the fact that Glasnow was open to extensions was part of the reason he's a dodger.
  14. Zaidman is like that viral clip a decade ago from John Mayer of a man whose never watched baseball announcing the action.
  15. Ugh that would be brutal. There has got to be more talent than this around. Some of our minor league affiliates have better guys than Zaidman.
  16. It's annoying because I don't like dismissing fields, who as a person shows up the right way and plays hard and doesn't complain. But the, you know, conversation around him is so obnoxious. I definitely think he's a top 32 QB in the league. But games like yesterday are all too common where despite being the best player on the field, he's unable to make the plays to will them into position. Cleveland is a very good defense, and it was a very good game! He was rushed a lot! I don't expect him to throw for 4 TDs, but I did want to see like...6 second half points. The next QB that comes in is going to have a much better offense surrounding him than fields did. And that's unfair. But I don't think it hides the truth. If I'm Poles, if Tee Higgins gets to FA you give him the money. You take Williams + a JC Latham or tackle (I don't really know where we'll be picking I"m assuming 11-13 range). You draft a receiver in the third and then a bunch more lineman in the 4th-6th.
  17. He touches the ball every play and the offense scored 10 points.
  18. Mooney you have got to be kidding me. The ball was in your fucking chest.
  19. Our Turnover differential in those three losses has to be like +9
  20. One thing you can see on the browns is they couldn’t run the ball so needed to pass to move the ball effectively, and Flacco threw for 400 yards. Fields has never been able to lead a passing offense unless it all was working.
  21. I’m sick to my stomach losing this game. Absolutely brutal. Classic bears loss of d balling all game and collapsing late. Offense never able to do enough. Im sure some fan will aggregate some stats to be excited about fields though and blame everyone else.
  22. Browns d is really good. Sorry, fields hasn’t made a big play with a game on the line in his career. But rumble rumble getsy getsy
