  1. Yeah there is zero doubt at this point eberflus was a terrible hire. Only question is it poles should get to hire a second coach

he'd be a good hire for minors for sure. I think he underachieved given the resources he had at major league level, his returns, and that dombrowski's hole is overstated.
  3. Our real clubhouse cancers were traded away at the deadline. That's why our record has improved. ahh, alas it appears we are 13-26 since the deadline.

    @george you did it!!!
  5. I think if I seriously wanted to get back in baseball I would at least acknowledge that a bunch of people along the way gave you a chance and the actions at the very least hurt those people and reputations, and you were willing to put in the work to make it right. Instead it was "I deserved more so I stole money and everyone was stealing and I kept my mouth shut and I'm not bitter at all I'm just a realist"
  6. hmmm we would be kicking so much more ass, could finish at the hahn 74 win equilibrium. Bummer.
  7. Actually read that Wilder article. I felt bad for KW after that. Wilder may feel less bitter if he ever accepts that he had a job many are pushing themselves and their families to the limit to get and he threw it away to steal.
  8. and i'm saying the broader service worker economy right now makes it easier to handle a seasonal employer like this providing less work.
  9. ? "I wouldn't have stolen anything if the guy didn't suck so bad and wouldn't have noticed"
  10. officially official. Rodgers tore his Achilles. That is just an absurd thing to happen soon. I actually feel terrible for the jets. Maybe wilson can doug johnson it though. edit: said acl accidentally
  11. I enjoyed how white sox daily was tweeting some of these out as the Carolina A leagues wrapped up. Did not know Michael Turner won batting champion.
  12. Remember when they were like "hey robin could you go field with him please instead of staying in your dugout" Kinda weird how sox went from throwing constant shade at the manager to then deifying them.
  13. probably not that hard of a hit locally. And fortunately a pretty good time to be a service worker for those in the stadium.
  14. I agree on first half. Problem was second half something we've seen a lot with fields, where he seems to get mopey and down when things aren't going well that leads to huge clunkers like the end of detroit last year, or the houston game.
  15. eh, when so much of that draft class is doing so well they are literally getting called up already I'll take notice of the sox going for a more sure thing that has obvious swing issues. Felt like a completely weird pick at the time for the org, looks bad early. This org gets no benefit of the doubt, sorry jacob. Good luck, you will have to figure this s%*# out on your own with this group.
  16. Taking 5 years to rebuild is really only the expectation in chicago. Being the worst pass rush in 2 years is not "by design" for any defense.
  17. I just think it is too ubiquitous to be a scouting issue. Yeah, they have drafted a lot of players like Collins/Burger/Sheets that were believed to be good enough offensively it papers over defense, and they seem to mak e that decision over and over, as we saw with Sheets in the Outfield. BUT - guys like Leury when we acquired had reputations as defensive whizzes. He was plus versatile but average at defense from the jump. I have zero confidence a sosa, rodriguez, ramos will come up and be plus defense, and they won't really try to improve them. When have we EVER had this? https://theathletic.com/4847416/2023/09/10/cardinals-jordan-walker-willie-mcgee/ (story about jordan walkers awful defensive start this year, which bothered the cards and they sought to improve it and now he's improved it) The sox may be interested in defense, but just like when vince coleman sets out to make us a blazing stolen bases team, the emphasis never translates. The org just has no idea how to do anything so they are just kinda imitating the language and motions of teams that care and fire people that can't teach.
  18. yeah, it pathetically ruined my day because I knew I went from getting to watch football on sundays to just doing some really top notch gardening each week. I've never really been a national-level sport follower for the main American ones, but I do enjoy with tennis/f1 how you can just kinda enjoy the show of the best talent in the world competing. Looking forward to hyping up this detroit OC when he becomes our coach with like...the texas qb and then failing in new and ridiculous ways.
  19. The defensive abilities of sox players have been so bad for almost 15 years now. We have several examples now, with Semien and Narvaez, of players that were more naturally capable of better defense that this org couldn't tap into. We also have players like Castillo, who had a plus defensive skill that regressed on the sox. And we hired the player development guy and he thinks it's a player problem not a coaching one. I'm skeptical!
  20. maybe? I think reinsdorf's number one goal was to keep a best friend.
  21. I have no idea why flus is sticking with williams after he failed his first time at DC and showed nothing special so far.
