  1. the sad thing is as dumb as his opinions are he was correct in just to assume this dumb franchise would get it wrong immediately while my stupid face waited to see multiple times.
  2. starting to feel like taking guys in their formative prospect years who just lost a year due to an immigration issue and giving them a second year to play with children has not been the best tactic.
  3. The only thing worse than being a bears fan is a sox fan in chicago. And quite honestly, given what they were from jordan, it's extremely painful watching the bulls reject trying to be an elite franchise. It's bleak.
  4. Congrats to poles on making a worse dline than the worst one I've ever seen. Congrats on flus for keeping a dline coach who oversaw the worst one I've ever seen. Just jerry reinsdorf level stuff here.
  5. that was horrible. Gonna just move out of sports in general, just absolutely absurd how every year is the same with this org. Its boring, but theres no reason to be reasonable with the bears. There's no point. If the bears hire a coach, they hired the worst coach. If they drafted a qb, they will be bad. If they hire a gm, they will be bad. There is no other option, it will be like this forever.
  6. Despite nearly every game looking like trash right now…if the bears look like trash I’ll die
  7. ha was going to say this. Jimmy Rollins pt. deux
  8. really excited for tonight. I think sox can pull within 31 games of .500
  9. I thought mahomes still looked pretty great, but imo is also a reminder that I can be optimistic about fields improving since he now has a receiver cast that isn't led by the chiefs former 3rd receiver, the packers former 5th receiver, etc. I think it makes their fight with chris jones understandable. But also ...they may need to trade him. Not sure you can have the highest paid d player even if he deserves it.
  10. kelce gonna have 45 targets a game when he returns
  11. i have a hard time believing people were giving you a hard time about that very consensus opinion.
  12. mmm gonna add this to the list of completely normal things other teams do that white sox apparently cannot without ruining them. Giving shortstops new positions? Destroyed players. Say they are good? death.
  13. I like New Haven style. Also the rhode island clam pizzas. I actually think truth be told I love all pizzas. Have extremely strong feelings once we enter frozen pizzas, where there is HRI and then you are better off getting $1 pizzas than any of the trash above it. But whether its detroit, tavern style, deep dish, new york, new haven, neopolitan, brazilian, japanese....i've loved it all. Didn't put down st louis, but its good. It's just definitely ranking at the bottom for me personally. I also think Illitch is probably fine, just took over at a weird time and then was too deferential to starting with his fathers last hire (right?). New group seems good. He still splurged on Erod/Baez when they thought they were about to pop. edit : i spelled japanese with a z for some reason.
  14. Yeah i'm a bit skeptical to say the least that being a starter is a return to health. I still buy doing it because he wants to, and we aren't doing s%*# anyways.
  15. perfectly respectable center fielder numbers.
  16. Is michael turner gonna be top 15 or missed the just missed as well?
  17. The pitchers perform badly at charlotte because they are garbage. Many of our pitchers that are bad in the big leagues but were good prospects did just fine in Charlotte.
  18. I don’t think this team is good enough to try to do something and succeed at it, even if it was losing.
  19. I didn’t say Sanders jumped right into the Colorado job.
  20. while he's probably not good...boy do I know the guys we do have are also not good.
  21. I don't think that's fair, sprinkle looked much different after he was injured, and always had more power than rondon had. I think as long as we have so few of his profile, he'll be more likely to make majors on our team than others. And I think likelihood of major league time is something I"m starting to weigh more now that we see how little we can pull in and how we sign people like elvis andrus.
  22. Have a hard time buying this no matter how many times it's repeated. 2016-2018, Giolito hovering around 92.5 mph on fastball, 2000-2100 rpms. He changes motion, gets velocity back to 94.5 mph average 4 seamer. Fastball gets to 2300+ RPM from 2019-2021. 2022, his fastball velocity drops to 92.5, spin goes back to 2100. His changeup spin was about the same. In fact it got more drop and more break in worse years for Giolito. He also was just a better pitcher in the second half of 2021 than he was in the first half. Probably was just being tall, having good spin, working high in the zone with a disguised changeup caused people to guess constantly because they had so little time to react whether it would drop. But give them a bit more time and they could. And now he's trying to make his slider mix in, and his curveball now. BUt nothing worked as well as a high 95 mph fastball and then keeping them off balance with changeups so they couldn't time it. Worked great until he couldn't do it anymore
  23. I would also say probably only Penny is truly similar. That AAU star recruit is a lot more similar to what Deon started doing at Jackson state than Hardaway/Howard (NBA Assistants). I don't think Howard has really coached out of step with Michigan. They've been pretty boom/bust last 20 years. He got them a number 1 seed in year 3 of coaching.
  24. Hmm interesting. I feel like I'd have Sprinkle/Elko in top 30. I think likelihood they crack ml rosters surged in august/september. There also still just isn't many like sprinkle in the system.
