God I hate those uniforms. -
Why should Robin Ventura have a MLB manager job
Tannerfan replied to Buehrle>Wood's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (spiderman @ May 2, 2015 -> 06:04 PM) If the White Sox do fire Ventura, I think Ozzie Guillen is a strong possibility. I'm not endorsing that move, just think it feels like a move they would make. It's very Billy Martinesque. I like it. But it won't happen. To daring. -

Ron Washington. If they rehired Ozzie I'd actually be excited. -

QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ May 1, 2015 -> 07:39 PM) I don't hate the guy as a manager but he's also a likely cocaine addict and a bit of a loose cannon with the media. JR would never touch him with a 10 foot pole. I'd prefer the Sox bring in someone other than RV, but I'm not sure who is out there really. I think this team could use a little cocaine! -

I'm just spitballing here but what about Ron Washington? He was a passionate manager with a lot of success. -
I'm not sure where I heard it, but I thought the reason was to keep the main home plate entrance at the corner of 35th and Shields.

Beckham behind in the count. Some things never change.

QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Mar 4, 2015 -> 02:12 PM) Anyone in SoCal, I thought the game was on TV? Can't find it.. It's on the Dodgers Time Warner channel. Ch 319 on Time Warner.

Seeing Beckham's name in the two hole makes me shudder.

I've gone three times, and am going back this year. I've already got tickets for Sox vs Cubs on March 19th. My suggestion is to go towards the last two or three weeks if you want to see the regulars play more and the starters pitch more innings. First two weeks Sale, Shark and Quintana will pitch two or three innings tops. By the third week of March they'll be going six. It's a great trip. I recommend seeing as many parks as possible. There are some night games so you can see the Sox in the afternoon, cool out at your hotel, then see a night game. All of the parks are within a 45 minute drive of each other. It's a baseball junkies dream.

QUOTE (hi8is @ Nov 28, 2014 -> 07:15 PM) You hath prevailed Thank you. I got one more; Send Robin Ventura to an improv class at Second City so his press conferences become slightly entertaining.

QUOTE (hi8is @ Nov 28, 2014 -> 04:51 PM) Your turn then or risk being branded as a charlatan - ooooohhhhhh.... ahhhhhh. Move the fences back at the Cell. Tell Hawk Harrilson it's time to retire. Tell Rick Hahn to keep doing what he's doing. Start selling Gluten free beer on all levels.

I love all my fellow Soxtalk members, but y'all are crazy. Thank the lord none of you run my favorite team.

Wow, that video is really well done. He really was a special player at a special time for the Chicago White Sox.

Did Hawk go back to the hotel?

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Aug 7, 2014 -> 09:54 PM) Live from the World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party, it's Tim Tebow and Gordon Beckham! No no no! Tebow is a hard right fundamentalist Christian. No cocktail drinking for him.

QUOTE (shysocks @ Jul 29, 2014 -> 01:31 PM) I hadn't considered the poor opposition, but still, it's not like Wilson was some CG artist. Only four shutouts in his career up to that point. And that's why it's called gambling.

To many teams to jump over, but it's still fun to watch.

Decoupling the White Sox from the Bulls in reguard to TV broadcast rights would be bad for the White Sox. Can you imagine Ricketts starting a Cubs channel with the ability of getting the Bulls to join him? Not good for us I think.

Great pitching, timely hitting and professional broadcasting!

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 19, 2014 -> 09:32 PM) That's how I feel. Cmon folks, let's hear it for the 2 wins vs. the Stros. Better than losing to 'em. Once again many individual players normally despised come through. Flowers?? Kudos tonight again for his 3 hits and the big one. DeAza? Nice job again. The bullpen? WTF. It came through again. Noesi does OK and Eaton and Lexi excel again. Of course Eaton and Lexi aren't despised, just the others. If we could get A. Garcia back could we contend for wild card? No, I won't go there. But like Big Hurt said ... winning is better than losing. Happy Saturday!! That's the nicest post you've ever made.

Here's what drives me crazy: This should be a season where we find out what we've got. Which is why the injury to Garcia was so frustrating. Meanwhile we have this left handed hitting third baseman who is really starting to show something, yet he doesn't start yesterday because the opposition is starting a lefty. One I'd the best lefty's in the league. Isn't this the time to find out if Gillaspie can maybe hit a good left handed pitcher? To me this was a real missed opportunity during a rebuilding year. We are not contending. Let's find out what we've got. Let's see if Conor can learn how to hit against a quality left hander. Not starting him yesterday was bad managing. On the field, and in the front office.

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jul 9, 2014 -> 07:26 PM) Hawk certainly seems to think we're getting AJ. Hawk thinks Beckham is good.

QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jul 9, 2014 -> 07:19 PM) Tyler ends another inning. Yea but at least now he can see!!!

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 8, 2014 -> 09:38 PM) You mean the road to the 14th-18th draft pick in the 1st round....? I'd rather they were 10 games under .500, improved the team with the best trades for prospects at the deadline and all the key players for next season were completely healthy/successful in Abreu, Sale, Quintana, Eaton and Avisail. Caulfield you really should be a a Cubs fan. Their philosophy is perfect for you.
