What I find interesting is that this story appears in the NY Times and not in the local Chicago media. Chicago gets Ricketts and the rooftops, when this is a much more significant story regarding baseball. Why is that?

I am so impressed with Rick Hahn and feel the team is in the best hands it's been in since I became a fan in 1967. Somebody should send Tanaka and his people one of those racist Fukadome T-shirts that were being sold outside Wrigley during Fukadome's first year in Cubbie land. That would give Masahiro some food for thought regarding the Northside.
