Hahn's next move?
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 31, 2013 -> 12:47 PM) No room on the roster for Keppinger and Gillaspie? There goes the World Series. Who said anything about winning the World Series? I'm talking about having a versatile bench with players that can play multiple positions. Not to mention a left handed bat in Gillaspie.

Hahn's next move?
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 31, 2013 -> 11:30 AM) Connor would be fine on te bench if we had any open slots. We don't right now. If Davidson out produces Connor and earns the job then there is no where to put Connor except on another teams roster. I think it would be quite irresponsible to have it come to that point so I think Rick absolutely must dump at least one of these bench/if/DH guys before spring training starts. The sad thing is the re-signing of Konerko is what's messing up the versatility of having both Conner and Keppinger on the roster.

spann?
I think he's a terrific talent poised to come back. Yes he's a gamble but if the asking price is not too high, he could be an amazing player for us. He's had a lot of bad luck. Think Jermaine Dye in 05, but with way more upside.

The LA Times is reporting that the Dodgers are willing to trade Matt Kemp, and know that they have to eat some salary to do it. I'm not sure what the Dodgers are looking for in return, but Kemp in center for us would make me very excited.

Make your arguments why Ventura isn't like Baker?
How are they different? Robin doesn't chew on a toothpick during games. Robin never hit on my wife in a Phoenix restaurant during spring training.

How Should Rick Hahn Fix The White Sox
If your holding on to the starting pitchers it's a retool. If you want to rebuild you trade all of the young pitchers to teams desperate for pitching. This includes Sale, Quintana and Santiago. You trade these very talented pitchers for prospects in single and double A that have the potential to be great in three or four years. I voted for retool.

And that's a White Sox season
I'm gonna go with not wearing the black jerseys very often. I just don't like those things so not having to see them very often was a definite highlight.

Jeff Manto fired
Very strange way to do it with the season over tomorrow. Why not wait until next week?

Hahn:Ventura will return in 2014
I wonder if this means all of the coaches are back as well. I hope not.

9/5 Game Thread
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 5, 2013 -> 06:24 PM) The Orioles are one of the only folks in America who told the NFL to go f*** themselves and lived to tell about it. Well that makes me like the Orioles.

8/26 SOX vs Houston - 7:10pm CDT - WCIU
QUOTE (mike89128 @ Aug 26, 2013 -> 07:59 PM) Think the Sox have found every way to give away a game. A good night for the draft pickers.

Chris Sale
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 26, 2013 -> 06:08 PM) Beating up a water cooler is much different than trying to beat up a teammate. Until Sale does that, the Zambrano comp is awful. I understand but I was shocked to see anything this stupid coming from Sale. He struck me as a pretty intelligent guy, not a hot head. Also I knew nothing of this happening until watching MLB Network today. I was just so surprised by the whole thing.

Chris Sale
I was just watching Intentional Talk on the MLB Network, and saw the clip of Sale freaking out in the dugout after his last start. He was wailing on a cooler and acting all Zombranoish. I wasn't aware this had happened and am a little concerned about this sort of childish behavior. I've heard he's very competitive but I was surprised by his actions. During the clip Kevin Millar was laughing but saying "Come on Chris don't use your left hand that's your money maker!" I always thought Zombrano was a loser because of his temper. Hate to see that in one of our best guys. Any one else concerned or am I over reacting?

GT 8/23: The Return of Alex & Anthony
QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ Aug 23, 2013 -> 06:15 PM) Should at least do something for him. He was a big part of that '05 team. It's kind of hard to give a standing ovation to a relief pitcher coming into a game in the 7th or 8th inning. But it would be funny and very odd if they played a Neal Cotts montage while he trots in from the bullpen.

The Return of AJP tonight
Also Neal Cotts strikes out Dunn in the 7th or 8th.

8.18 Sox vs Twins
QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Aug 18, 2013 -> 03:17 PM) I love when the Sox still win. Shows improvement, confidence in the young guys, and hope for next year. Agree. Plus my wife always laughs when Hawks says "This ball game is ova!"

8.18 Sox vs Twins
I know I'm suppose to be rooting for the draft pick, but I kind of like seeing my team win.

GMing for 2014 Rebuild
QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ Aug 16, 2013 -> 06:23 PM) Why would they move Alexei to 2nd? He's a better SS than Semien and has a much stronger arm than Beckham. He's another year older, and he makes a lot of throws into the dirt that Paulie has to dig out. Will Dunn be able to do that next year? Also Alexi played 2nd in '08 when we last won the division. Maybe we recapture the magic????
-
GMing for 2014 Rebuild
If Semien is ready next year to play short, and no deals are made, I hope they consider moving Beckham back to 3rd and Alexi to 2nd.

Tigers @ White Sox
