  1. QUOTE(fathom @ Dec 16, 2005 -> 01:06 AM) 1- finalize Vazquez trade 2- resign Contreras to 2 yr/20 million dollar extension 3- trade Garland/Crede to Orioles for Mora/Julio/prospect Is this another one of those Carlos Pena predictions where you just have a gut feeling for really no reason? Or is there some basis for this?
  2. QUOTE(fathom @ Dec 16, 2005 -> 01:01 AM) I have no clue if this has been reported on here, but the Sox are only getting 3 million from Arizona. Source?
  3. QUOTE(chisox2334 @ Dec 16, 2005 -> 12:58 AM) nothing will heat up until vasquez to chicago is offical. So everyone calm down for moment Which would happen tomorrow.
  4. QUOTE(iWiN4PreP @ Dec 15, 2005 -> 10:55 PM) haha, i going to go on a limb and say tejada since things seem to be heating up and i personally dont like blalock (tho dont have a problem with the trade for him), and id Love tejada on the team. I wouldnt say it's heating up, just being speculated as our many other things. I say Blalock is the most likely thing but I really have no clue with kenny at the helm.
  5. QUOTE(YASNY @ Dec 15, 2005 -> 10:48 PM) Okay. Let me rephrase. I only recall seeing it once in regard to Chris Young. That's why I thought it appropriate to throw into this discussion. Ahh, gotcha. My reading comprehension is shot after finals, I can't think anymore.
  6. QUOTE(YASNY @ Dec 15, 2005 -> 10:44 PM) I only recall seeing once. That's why I thought it appropriate to throw into this discussion. Fair enough. I just see it a lot when you got the so called 5 tool player being discussed.
  7. QUOTE(YASNY @ Dec 15, 2005 -> 10:27 PM) I have heard him compared, supposedly by scouts and front office people around baseball, to Eric Davis. Is it just me or does it seem like that Eric Davis comparison gets thrown around a lot?
  8. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Dec 15, 2005 -> 09:59 PM) we're already good without him, though. we did win the world series! he'd be nice, but he costs too much, in my opinion. If you're talking in terms of talent that we would have to give up then that's certainly a possibility. If we're talking about from a financial point of view, Miggy is probably one of the better values in baseball.
  9. QUOTE(the People's Champ @ Dec 15, 2005 -> 10:09 PM) I like Chicago better as a Cub town. Less Sox fans means better chance I can get a seat whenever I want to. Less fans=less money=no jim thome or javy vazquez this year.
  10. QUOTE(SnB @ Dec 15, 2005 -> 09:30 PM) As soon as the cubs get respectable again, it will be a cubs town again. And yet, i couldn't care less. If the Sox keep winning I wouldn't be so sure about that. It's been a sox town before and it could certainly be one again.
  11. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Dec 15, 2005 -> 08:25 PM) I'd assume its because I'm pretty familiar with the farm system, plus I have a history of being pretty accurate when it comes to evaluating prospects (well I don't overhype them usually, Young may be the one exception cause I've been oozing and raving about him for a few years). Show off.
  12. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Dec 15, 2005 -> 08:20 PM) Meanwhile, while proving Rowand44's point for him...
  13. QUOTE(Felix @ Dec 15, 2005 -> 08:17 PM) Yes, you said possible 40/40, you said he is going to be a 30/30 guy like it was a guarantee.
  14. QUOTE(Felix @ Dec 15, 2005 -> 08:13 PM) How come when I say he's a possible 40/40 guy, I get mocked, but when you say he'll hit 30-40 and possibly 50 HR's, nothing is said to you? You didnt say possible, your wording made it sound like he was guaranteed to be a 30/30 guy.
  15. QUOTE(Chek2002 @ Dec 15, 2005 -> 08:08 PM) Appearing on ESPN News,Tim Kurkjian said that the White Sox and Rangers are discussing a trade that would send 3B Hank Blalock to the Sox for P Jon Garland and 3B Joe Crede. Did he say they were discussing it or did he just say it made sense? Cause he just threw it out there on sc saying it would make sense.
  16. QUOTE(SnB @ Dec 15, 2005 -> 07:59 PM) god damnit, my shrink told me all i'm doing is pushing the people i love out of my life. i'm sorry heads, you know my true feelings about you. Shut up Doug.
  17. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Dec 15, 2005 -> 07:42 PM) Miller rehabed his arm and was really good last year (once he got rolling). If his stuff is back a package of the two of them would be nice, but I'd like to find a way to get an arm that we could immediately throw into the pen as well. Thats the reason I like Broxton. I hear ya, and Broxton is another guy that I thought of. If Kenny is looking to trade Jon for young arms the Dodgers for sure make the most sense.
  18. QUOTE(beck72 @ Dec 15, 2005 -> 07:35 PM) What about LHP Greg Miller? I know he was hurt. But he was lights out before sitting out 2004. If the sox got a sure thing like Billingsley, they could take a gamble that Miller could stay healthy Billingsley and Miller was actually the package I was thinking of. Miller was pretty damn solid last year actually but he's not the elite prospect that he was though he's still pretty damn good. You get an elite pitching spect and another damn good one and that's not bad at all.
  19. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Dec 15, 2005 -> 07:31 PM) Yayo. Finished my first semester with a 4.0. Nerd.
  20. QUOTE(greg775 @ Dec 15, 2005 -> 07:32 PM) If he's this good a prospect, shouldn't we have gotten somebody better for him? That's all I'm asking. If he's this great why did we have to include 3 players in the deal? $$$$$$$$

    My rant

    QUOTE(TLAK @ Dec 15, 2005 -> 07:04 PM) But getting past that I’m having a hard time buying into all the love being showered on Kenny Williams. Kenny Williams built the team that won us our first world series since 1917, it's really not hard to understand why he's getting showered with love.
  22. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Dec 15, 2005 -> 04:53 PM) I was just about to post Liu Rodriguez. I remember him being like one of the Sox top prospects in the middle infield when Ray-Ray was still here. Haha. Mark L. Johnson You are officially eliminated from this game for listing a player that has already been talked about.
  23. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Dec 15, 2005 -> 03:50 PM) I'm asking for Brandon Wood. I don't care if the LAAA GM hangs up on you, doesn't hurt to ask. If, of course, the scenario came up with a trade to the Halos... To be honest, that would be the only way I'd trade Jon to the Angels if one of the spects we were getting back was Brandon Wood. Otherwise, I'd prefer not to send him to an AL playoff contender.
  24. QUOTE(dmbjeff @ Dec 15, 2005 -> 03:37 PM) if its a stud 2b, 3b prospect who will be ready by 07 AND a quality reliever or 2 who are ready now, id be for it. Iguchi and Crede will still be here in 07 for the record.
