Beckham flirting with .300.
QUOTE (Kalapse @ Jul 22, 2009 -> 02:44 PM) Among AL rookies with 125+ PA this season Gordon Ranks: 2nd in RBI w/ 23 (#1 Reimold: 26) I'd bet a lot of money that he finishes first in rbi's this season.

Man Crush Poll
QUOTE (lostfan @ Jul 22, 2009 -> 08:51 AM) Has anyone noted Beckham is over .300 now? Not including Buehrle he already has the 3rd best ops on the team as well. To be this good, this quick is just amazing. He's a stud, no doubt.

Anderson would've had it
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 20, 2009 -> 09:44 PM) I'm sick to death of the topic that is Brian Anderson and the 327835065320643207344 excuses on why he's sucked from the moment he's put on a White Sox uniform. Does it really matter that Wise is on the team instead of him? Yeah, defense. I know, I know. But this division will not be won or lost because we don't have Brian to potentially make a good defensive play every now and then. The dude is awful with the bat. Easily negating any impact he could possibly make with the glove as a late-inning defensive replacement. No excuses for him anymore. The point is he's better than Wise, that's all. He's better offensively, he's better defensively, Wise is faster but it's not like Anderson is Konerko on the bases. As for this division not being won but Anderson's superior glove in the late inning, most likely that's the case, but I'm sure glad we didn't have to find out what would have happened if Anderson didn't make that diving catch in the 9th in the one game playoff last season.

Rays (51-42) @ White Sox (48-44) 7:11pm CSN-HD
2nd game in a row tonight for me. Lets pretend to be a major league starter, Clayton!

The Carlos Quentin Activated from DL
He IS starting tonight. SWEETNESS. This is my 2nd game of the season. First one was Beckham's debut and now this, pretty awesome(though the first game ended up sucking).

The Carlos Quentin Activated from DL
Q playing tonight? Cause that'd be sweet. And I give up on this whole Brian Anderson situation, so no comment there.

ChiSox looking to deal Dotel/Linebrink?
Which would explain the Tony Pena acquisition. Not sure if I buy that we're trying to trade Dotel/Liney but it wouldn't shock me either.

What teams do you hate or dislike?
Red Sox. I honestly don't hate any of our division rivals, I want them to lose more than any other teams but I don't hate them. The Red Sox on the other hand, I despise more than any other franchise in sports.

The Best Pitcher of the Past 5 years
QUOTE (Kalapse @ Jul 19, 2009 -> 09:35 PM) Best pitchers by ERA+ from 2001 to present w/ at least 1530 IP over that time (180 IP per + 90 IP for this year): (keep in mind this is an incredibly subjective timespan) 1.) 152 - Johan Santana 2.) 144 - Roy Halladay 3.) 137 - Roy Oswalt 4.) 132 - Randy Johnson 5.) 127 - Tim Hudson (everybody forgets about Tim Hudson) 6.) 123 - Mark Buehrle 7.) 121 - CC Sabathia 8.) 117 - Derek Lowe 9.) 114 - Mike Mussina 9.) 114 - Andy Pettitte Good stuff. I appreciate it.

The Best Pitcher of the Past 5 years
I was going to say Santana with out looking at any stats, so glad to see that the stats back that up. Awesome to see Mark in the top 10 there as well. If any of you stat guys have some time I'd be interested to see where Buehrle ranks since he came into the league overall.

Halladay Superthread
QUOTE (knightni @ Jul 15, 2009 -> 12:16 AM) Whoever gets Halladay will need to be more talented than this Sox roster if they expect him to win the World Series this year for them. Completely disagree. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jul 15, 2009 -> 12:45 AM) You can't trade either of Danks or Gavin because it defeats the purpose of getting Roy. If that breaks the deal, then so be it. Completely agree.

White Sox Acquire RP Tony Pena from ARI for Brandon Allen
Took me a few days to respond cause I'm just not sure how I feel about this deal. First off, hopefully there was something in his mechanics that Cooper saw that he can fix ala Thornton. As for Allen, I'm not high on him at all but I really think he could have at least been a piece to a bigger deal(not the center piece). Oh well, hopefully we get a new and improved Tony Pena.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 9, 2009 -> 10:19 AM) Cliff Lee was virtually unhittable last year; one year later? Still pretty damn good. And I have no idea what Cliff Lee has to do with Roy Halladay.

Halladay Superthread
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 7, 2009 -> 02:11 PM) I think giving up Flowers at his peak value would be brilliant. Saltalamacchia had huge value a few years ago, but everyone has finally realized he's a DH. Same with Flowers... he's a DH masquerading as a catcher for now. It'd be smart to deal him. Well every indication is that Flowers has made huge strides as a catcher, so to say he's only going to be a DH at this point is way premature. That being said, I wouldn't even hesitate to trade Flowers for a guy like Halladay.
