QUOTE(danman31 @ Jun 11, 2005 -> 12:07 AM) I saw that too with Tracey, you aren't nuts lol. I thought it was weird that a manager would leave in a guy to give up that many runs. Fields finished 4-5 and is turning it around, great to see. Box Score What I liked about Josh's game was 3 balls hit to RF 1 to LF and 1 to Center

Mobile 15 Barons 9 W- Tovar L-Bullard Tracey left the game in the second with some sort of problem gave up 6 runs and while Bull got out of the 2nd Mobile tagged Bull for 4 runs in the 3rd and 4th. Hitting stars a plenty tonight Rogo was 3-3 a double and RBI Josh Fields continues his hot road trip with a 4-5 night with a pair of RBI's, Jerry Owens was 3-6 with a pair of RBI. 12 runners left on base for the Barons tonight. 2 mobile players missed hitting for the cycle by not homering. Dwayne pollok pitched very well in 2.2 IP including K'ing the side in the 5th Barons lead in SL south down to a half game with the tropical storm coming a game looks very unlikely tomorrow.

Barons 6 Mobile 5 (10) W-Jenks (1-2) L- Thayer (2-5) The Homerun binge continued with Chris Young, Chris Stewart and Antoin Gray all homering tonight. The winning rally was started by a Ryan Sweeney line drive single to right followed by a sac bunt by Rogo which 3rd baseman Jason Clements tried to nail Sweeney at 2nd threw the ball over the second baseman's head and down the RF line which allowed Ryan to Score. Jenks gave up 2 hard hit balls in the bottom of the 10th but struck out Dustin Delluchi on a 97 MPH heater chin high. Ryan Meaux also came in the 8th to snuff out a Mobile rally by striking out Dustin Delluchi with the bases loaded and 2 down. Barons now have 1st place with a 1 1/2 game lead with 10 to play.

QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jun 9, 2005 -> 08:27 PM) thanks a lot for all you do BHAM, having a guy so close to the franchise is awesome not 2 mention the little recap of the game you do everyday. Does Corwin look like he might even add more velocity to that fastball of his, and do you think he has a legitimate chance to become a future starter in the bigs? He might he is up to the mid 90's now which was tops pre injury that got Corwin ranked so far up the prospect list.

QUOTE(ChiSoxFan @ Jun 9, 2005 -> 09:01 PM) Nice. Any info on Honel down the road? Yeah I have an incomplete one on Kris I only seen him pitch 2 times this season and he had a blister problem so when I see him pitch this next homestand I will have it ready. Tom

I listened to a little of the Charlotte game and a guy who did a lot of damage was a guy named Chris Denorfia he was in Chattanooga to start the season and he tore up the Barons staff he has a chance to be a good prospect for the Reds. On a side note it seemed to me like BMAC struggled later in his outing and that was his only struggle last year with Birmingham because he left pitches up in the zone I am not sure if tonight was the same way or not if so it would be the first time this season

Dusty's newest excuse for Cubs woes...
BHAMBARONS replied to RibbieRubarb's topic in The Diamond Club
That is why MLB teams have advance scouts. That is a horrible excuse -
QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jun 8, 2005 -> 08:08 AM) No-one's gonna comment on Honel's good outing? Sounded pretty good to me, especially if Reynoso gave up his runs. Let's hope he can come back the way Malone has this season so far. I was wondering if anyboby was, Kris had good control and not just the walks but hitting his spots. Those Breaking balls he threw were old Kris Honel then come back and hit 90 on a Fastball which is the best I seen him this season.

QUOTE(Antonio Osuna @ Jun 7, 2005 -> 12:30 PM) Sounds like a sure-fire failure to me. The minors will still be useless for us. I disagree with the minors still being useless. This system since 2000 has given us a Starting CF a #1 Starter in Mark and via trade Got us Freddie Garcia. The Consider what we still have in Brandon McCarthy, Brian Anderson, Ryan Sweeney, Bobby Jenks Gio and a couple others.

QUOTE(Jordan4life_2005 @ Jun 7, 2005 -> 10:24 PM) Thanks, Bham. I hope you're right. By the way, do you go to all the games? About 90% except for the trips to Jacksonville and Raliegh NC.

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jun 7, 2005 -> 10:12 PM) And a sinker at 94? Filthy. Ask Marvin Williams he was looking Fastball and corkscrewed himself into the ground

QUOTE(Jordan4life_2005 @ Jun 7, 2005 -> 10:16 PM) Why did Fields get ejected? Josh Though he was hit by a pitch which I believe he was correct the plate ump said no that it was a foul ball and Josh went postal on him said a few F bombs and a few other words. Then Razor went toe-to-toe spit a few sunflower seeds at him kicked some dirt up at him. Typical umpire getting a call wrong then instead of admitting a mistake and letting Fields let out his anger He tossed them.

QUOTE(Jordan4life_2005 @ Jun 7, 2005 -> 10:15 PM) Josh Fields baby! Rogo is having a hell of a year. Anybody know when he's gonna move up to Charlotte? I would think Rogo will be in a Knights uni by the 4th of July Holiday

QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jun 7, 2005 -> 10:08 PM) It seems like that andy gonzalez dude has been hitting really well, how does he look and do you think he has what it takes to be a good major leaguer? Also damn did Josh Fields change his swing or something because he has been on fire. His Fielding is his only weakness but that is getting better. Has the tools to be a succesful Major Leaguer, makes the outstanding plays but sometimes struggles to make the routine plays. The hitting is there I would like to see more power but I believe that will come with time. I like the kid hopefully he can get the job done. Josh has started to hit the Low and away breaking balls to the opposite field and with power that now gives him pitches on the inner half which he can use his natural power but the key was hitting that breaking ball on the outside black and laying off the the pitches out of the zone

Barons 6 Tennessee 5 W-Meaux L-Gonzalez Sv-Jenks Jerry Owens had a huge 2nd game with a Pair of run scoring doubles the first with 2 on in the Third And a RBI double in the 4th. Chris Stewart had a 2-3 game along with Reyes. Darren Blakely crushed a 2-run Homer to finish the scoring. Cory Haggerty drew a key walk after the ejections of Josh Fields and Razor Shines Then Blakely crushed the Gonzalez fastball into orbit. Kris Honel looked good tonight throwing some of the best breaking balls of the season. Honel's 3 runs were given up by Reynoso. Reynoso was the pitcher of bad luck as 2 straight infield singles and a 2 base error by Andy Gonzalez. Ryan Meaux with tying run in scoring position came on struck out Matt Morgan. Bobby Jenks got the final 6 outs for his 14th Save and threw his 1st sinker came in at 94. Off Day tomorrow in Mobile Thursday with Nik Lubisich on the mound.

QUOTE(Cerbaho-WG @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 08:41 PM) I've read reports that's he hit 90 MPH...on a slider. That's not fair. I seen him in Memphis last month and WOW is all I can say 97 on the Fastball all game long even in the 7th his last inning. He has a great low change up also a great 12-6 curve and talking with a Seattle Scout he has three 70 and above pitches on the 20-80 Scale plus the change that is a 60. Could be the best pitcher Seattle has ever developed.

QUOTE(Jordan4life_2005 @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 01:39 AM) Wow. Looks small as hell. It is and built right into the smokie mountains that big hill in center is a part of the mountain.
