  1. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Nov 10, 2008 -> 07:45 PM) Versteeg could win the Calder Trophy. He is in the top two of rookies in points and he seems to be a tremendous playmaker. What a stud out of nowhere! He's a very aggressive skilled attacker and is def a favorite for the Calder.
  2. So after seeing our top guys raking I decided to check other teams to see if it was a product of the league. It appears our team is just downright nasty at the plate, they have 60 more walks than the next team 27 more RBI, 21 points of OPS, and 32 runs. And thats the second best team, theres a HUGE separation between Peoria and Surprise, who sucks. Cole and Becks rank 9 and 10 in the entire league in OPS. Becks is 12 in avg.

QUOTE (Rex Hudler @ Nov 9, 2008 -> 10:43 PM) One of my favorites...... HAHAHA. Thats actually a family friend of mine's liquor shop in Avon near Beaver Creek. I have the shirt on the left. They went to college with my parents.
  4. QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Nov 11, 2008 -> 11:03 AM) I'm with you man, I worked for a small firm and they didn't try to diversify so work dried up. Go with Overkill by Men at Work or the solo verion by Colin Hay Anything Steve Winwood works. My last layoff was a company where our CEO's creed was, "Ill never sell". Then he sold and we were all fired at 6:30 on a friday.
  5. http://www.jdfoods.net/products/baconnaise.php I mean, it COULD be good.
  6. QUOTE (Rex Kicka** @ Nov 11, 2008 -> 10:22 AM) I worked for a travel agency that went belly up yesterday. I don't own anything, let alone a failed business. Ah. well it happens to everyone at some point. Dont worry, you'll find something even better.
  7. QUOTE (Cubano @ Nov 10, 2008 -> 09:40 PM) Stan, You quest is almost impossible. It is easier to go to Iran and bash the Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and comeback alive than to find Alexei's jersey. Usually, you can find jerseys at the airport and tourist spots in Cuba. You find them for the cuban team and cuban series player jerseys. If there were Alexei's jersey, all of them are withdrawn from the market. You may find somebody that bought one and wants to sell it, but this would be a miracle. How about the WBC site? Never mind. Cuba us not even listed because the Embargo. http://shop.mlb.com/category/index.jsp?categoryId=2194484 its totally ridiculous isnt it? cant even get a jersey sold of a player. When is it going to end?

  9. Anyone read this interview? http://www.hobotrashcan.com/2008/09/09/one...n-philadelphia/ Day man/night man musical coming?
  10. The Victors? Seriously though man, just economic hard times, whats the story? I admire people who have the guts to go out on their own.
  11. So if Michigan State wins out, they get the auto BCS bid from the Big Ten in an interesting scheduling rule.
  12. QUOTE (bmags @ Nov 9, 2008 -> 12:30 PM) that poop episode was pretty bad when that fat woman was in the 7 minute speech about who pooped when. Before or after she took off her bra to blast her nips?
  13. QUOTE (flavum @ Nov 10, 2008 -> 03:46 PM) Danks 3-3 today with a stolen base. He and Beckham are 1a and 1b as the Sox top prospects as far as I'm concerned. I love Danks, both of them. I really hope he develops into what he can be. He appears to be a superior athlete and could really be a 5-tool player.
  14. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Nov 10, 2008 -> 04:01 PM) Street sucks. Gonzalez may be a good one. I don't know how Smith is a solid #3 yet. Its funny how on this board Carlos Gomez will never be any good and Gonzalez who had worse numbers is going to be a star. They either sign Holliday or flip him at the deadline if they aren't contending. It could be a disaster for Oakland, but for 2009, they received the best player in the deal. Oh, Beane is flipping Holliday to a contender, you better bet that, or he's living off the draft picks. Its a pretty good move by him IMO.

Thank you. Ill try not to disagree with you ever again, let alone actualy say some negative about my own team. Fantastic admin behavior BTW.
  16. ON that list above, I would probably rank Bobby somewhere 5th or 6th. I would call these guys elite (no order): Soria Rivera K-Rod Nathan Papelboner Jenks Lidge (on and off)
  17. QUOTE (danman31 @ Nov 10, 2008 -> 03:21 PM) Bacher was 'available' but didn't play. Conteh, the 2nd RB, missed the game as well. Conteh is a solid back and has made starts throughout his career. The starting RB for the game was a guy with 4 career carries. It's just convenient for Ohio State to complain about not having Beanie against USC, but Northwestern can't be missing their starting QB, starting RB and the RB's capable replacement. Ohio State isn't 35 points better than Northwestern. And DBAH0 stop wasting your time at Ivy League games. What the heck? Ohio state isnt 35 points better than Northwestern, you are right, they should have beaten them by much more. In fact this was one of the more respectable losses of the last 28 of 29 OSU has beaten NW. Take off your hater glasses. Not sure what USC vs OSU has to do with it at all, the buckeyes could have had Archie Griffin behind the QB and still get whomped.
  18. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Nov 10, 2008 -> 03:00 PM) That would be an incredible package. If this is the case Rockies fans should be quite pleased with the return. Yup, a pretty good haul, Beane makes up for his rapeage by hendry. Seriously though, the Cubs arent even offering this much for Peavy who is young and signed to a long term deal.
  19. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Nov 10, 2008 -> 02:12 PM) No I saw Yale play Columbia the week before, but that wasn't a very good standard nor a big crowd. So I guess Rutgers was my first "real" college football experience. AH ok. Soeme day you will have to make it to one of the really big football tailgates like LSU, Ol Miss, Georgia, OSU, Texas, PSU, Wisco etc, they are truly out of control if you havent been to one before. Rutgers is good and all but its situated in probably one of the top 5 crappiest cities in America and isnt really what you'd call a football crazy university. I remember my first real big school tailgate experience and wondering how that many fans were able to purchase and customize large school buses. And im talking in the 100's.
  20. QUOTE (Cubano @ Nov 10, 2008 -> 01:13 PM) Wow! This is refreshing. I did not read the Julio Lugo comparison here. Thanks! When el Duque defected, Felipe Alou, then the Giants manager said: "el Duque is nothing to be crazy about" I love all these baseball minds and reporters running their mouths even when they have not seen the guy play. Let's wait when he jumps in the field. Your performance in the field will dictate everything. Some accept the challenge and perform. Others never live to their high expectations. Our resident "scout" said Omar Infante.
  21. QUOTE (Chet Lemon @ Nov 8, 2008 -> 08:55 AM) I like the idea of getting younger and faster, but wouldn't Owens be a horrible starting OF? KW never said that, it was the writer making assumptions, which were incorrect.
  22. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Nov 10, 2008 -> 01:11 PM) Well I'm officially a Rutgers Scarlett Knights fan now. Went on Saturday, and had a great tine, the atmosphere at the college games was just incredible. was that your first college football game?
  23. Seriously though. Would we be able to get Peavy with a package of Richard, Broadway, Getz, and maybe one other fringer, because thats what the Cubs are offering.
  24. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Nov 10, 2008 -> 11:17 AM) I think its more of Samardzija not willing to waive his NTC (how the hell did he get that!?) Because the Cubs signed him as a reach pick and gave him negotiating leverage.
  25. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Nov 10, 2008 -> 10:36 AM) According to De Luca the Cubs are not willing to include Samardzija in a deal for Peavy. He names Marshall, Hart and Fontenot as the possible garbage heading to San Diego. So 2 fringe pen arms and a backup middle IF'er for probably one of the best if not the best pitcher in the NL. Hmmm, seems legit.
