  1. just a random inter-division thought: doesn't look like Culpepper is missing Randy Moss, huh?
  2. it hasn't disappeared yet, but then again, that depends on who you ask. a lot of people with an avatar that references to someone choking might say otherwise (way to stick by your team til the end, fellas).
  3. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Sep 16, 2005 -> 04:08 PM) My prediction: Bears 13 Lions 10 Orton will get good protection but make a couple costly mistakes. Bears win on a 43 yard Doug Brien field-goal with 3 1/2 minutes left. With the Lions making a long drive in the 2-minute offense, the Bears hold them on a 1st and Goal at the 2 and Lance Briggs intercepts a Harrington pass to Mike Williams to end the game. well thanks for jinxing THAT outcome.
  4. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 17, 2005 -> 01:48 PM) Not really disagreeing with anything, but anyone else amazed how UNC, the defending champs, lost so much last year that they're not even on the list? not really, they lost, what, their top 4-5 players?
  5. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 17, 2005 -> 12:41 PM) Can we change the title of this thread to "Sit Down El Duque" really, he needs to be removed from the rotation until he proves he can get big-league hitters out again.
  6. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Sep 16, 2005 -> 10:48 AM) I'll be your agent. all you need to figure out is, what's 2% of nothing?
  7. it took a lock-out for me to realize how much America needs Youppi!...wait a second, we're talking about Youppi!. I'm sure we could have gone a few more years without him (it?), but, well, good for Youppi!.
  8. funniest thing I've seen all month. really liked the one line by the anonymous AL player, "I should know. I'm the left fielder."
  9. the problem is, the Lions will be geared up to stop the run, and they'll make Orton beat them through the air, raising another problem, that being Orton only having one reliable target. but still... GO BEARS!
  10. QUOTE(Ozzie Montana @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 06:43 PM) RICK NASH OUT 2-3 WEEKS: check it out guys, http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/news?slug=blue...ov=st&type=lgns hey exactly like what happened to me then. now we have something in common. next year, when I make it to the NHL, we'll have two. by they way, is there any way that last statement could be more green?
  11. well his CERA is 3.33 this year, but he has allowed 22 of 24 to successfully steal a base. I'll look a little more for the team's record with him behind the plate.
  12. sounds like what happened to me in January. sprained ankle for me, missed 2 weeks, though I most definitely didn't hit the boards as hard as I'm sure Nash did.
  13. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 10:38 AM) That was Orton's first start, on a visiting field, against one of the best defenses in the league, with no running game. Your boy Grossman, in his second season posted a stellar QB rating of 67.9 I love how Grossman is the second coming, and Orton is the horrible rookie. Grossman didnt do anything in his starts, and played against some weak defenses. Orton started the season opener, as a rookie (Grossman never did that) and performed well with no running game. Grossman still had bad numbers even in his second season. 1 td, 3 INT in three games. If Orton has not improved on that by his third game in his second season, I will think this over. Until then, Orton looks better. Grossman's only considered the second coming to some people because of how terrible Quinn played last year after Grossman went down. Orton could become a quality NFL QB in a few years, but isn't now. there was no running game because Washington knew that Orton's a rookie, and the best way to beat this team, it seems, is to force them to beat you through the air.
  14. QUOTE(Soxfest @ Sep 10, 2005 -> 11:50 PM) No Det or KC in playoffs 87 wins vs. 2 teams, I'm scared to see the stength of scheduele now that we have to make up all those games vs. the other 14 AL teams.
  15. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2005 @ Sep 9, 2005 -> 01:20 AM) All I know is Kerry Collins got me 21 points today in fantasy. he'll be a good fantasy QB, luckily for you his 18-40 doesn't count for much. anybody notice how Belichick just started with a 3-man rush, and Collins couldn't do a damn thing with 8 men in coverage? plus it didn't help that he was just forcing it to Moss no matter the double, triple, or sometimes quadruple coverage. see the play in the 4th inside the 20, he threw it to Moss, and immediatly 4 Pats formed a wall and Moss stepped out at the 6? his last TD pass was to a receiver behind Moss, and 3 DBs committed to him and left 83 wide open in the back of the end-zone.
  16. QUOTE(Colorado Sox Fan @ Sep 8, 2005 -> 10:46 PM) We could easily get our asses kicked by Cleveland. and we could easily kick their asses. until it happens, we don't know, do we?
  17. QUOTE(farmteam @ Sep 8, 2005 -> 10:09 PM) Call me crazy, but as long as we win the Central, I want the Indians to win the Wild Card. I don't like the rule that a division winner can't play a team from the same division in the first round. there's no purpose, and besides, Cleveland is the potential play-off bound team that scares me least (and not just because it's impossible to see them in the first round).
  18. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 12:29 PM) I don't see how it is. The team didn't want to trade him, that's their choice. He's most likely not even out for the rest of the year and even if he were, he's still comming back at the beginning of next year. So they'd still have Griffey as they wanted, just not for the rest of a pointless Reds month. in my eyes it is. it made sense for everybody involved to trade Griffey, and they didn't. they have one or two starting pitchers to build around, and trading Griffey could have gotten them 2 possible future starting pitchers. was Eric Milton really the answer to their rotation needs?
  19. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 07:57 AM) This is just fate's way of pokey Cincy's ownership right in the eye for teasing us like that. I'll never understand why they think that team is worth more with Griffey, than without him and having the payroll flexibility. really, if there's ever a reason to believe what goes around comes around (karma), this is it.
  20. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Sep 3, 2005 -> 10:49 PM) Seriously though, that broom emiticon should be romoved from your posts. It's like an unwritten rule. it's actually a written rule, in the post the broom was introduced in.
  21. QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Sep 2, 2005 -> 01:57 PM) Thank god we didn't draft this guy. What a floundering idiot. why? Jones is capable at RB for another year, and Mike Williams and Muhsin Muhammed at WR would make things a lot easier for Kyle Orton.
  22. that said I'm still happy with Dye. nice play Jermaine.
  23. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Sep 3, 2005 -> 08:12 PM) Maggs is a great hitter and a great player but at that kind of money Detroit can have him. with the numbers he's put up this year, had he played the full season I'd say he'd be well worth that money.
  24. I would have liked if we kept Maggs. the only question is where would he play?
  25. the way DJ said Buehrle's out and Timo is in, without mentioning Politte at first, was funny to me. it sounded like Timo was pitching, which makes me wonder how many people here would be banned for offensive comments about Timo and Ozzie.
