  1. We traded Chris Sale for this guy?
  2. Rodon and Anderson for Machado sounds good to me.
  3. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 26, 2017 -> 09:52 AM) Does Jerry still own the White Sox? Unfortunately.
  4. I wouldn't count on much from Rodon. But yes, the Sox should be competitive next season.
  5. Best Second Baseman on the roster.
  6. Fine, let Moncada play everyday at 3B but keep Yolmer at 2B.
  7. I'd let Yolmer play 2B and let Moncada play 3B. Davidson can play 3B against some Lefties since Moncada struggles from the right side anyway. Leury at SS and Engel in CF. Baseball is a defensive game and I'm sick of garbage defense up the middle. Leury, Yolmer and Engel gives the Sox premiere defense up the middle.
  8. QUOTE (Scoots @ Sep 7, 2017 -> 07:32 PM) Well whaddya know. A leadoff Yolmer Homer off Kluber. Yolmer is a good ballplayer.
  9. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 7, 2017 -> 01:52 PM) These guys can all play next year, but all of them will have to improve in order for them to be regulars on a team the White Sox will sell as a contender. Engel will have to hit a bit. Leury is going to have to become a bit more baseball savvy. Hanson.....he just isn't a championship calibur player. And Anderson should have to improve his defense as well as his offense. Yet he seems to be the anointed starting SS. Why not let him compete for a job like everyone else? Leury is a much better SS and it's his natural position. Defense matters.
  10. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 7, 2017 -> 12:06 PM) If we have the choice between someone who can't hit, but plays gold glove defense versus someone who can hit, but hurts his pitching staff in CF, give me Engel everytime. With an already bad defense and a young pitching staff, I don't want to make it harder on them than I have to. Engel is a young pitchers best friend in CF the way he turns doubles in the gap into loud outs. Agreed.
  11. QUOTE (Two-Gun Pete @ Sep 5, 2017 -> 08:04 PM) I do like competition, and I would not count out any of our cavalcade of middling OF options for next season. I'd let Tilson, Engel, and Liriano duke it out for CF; I'd let Anderson and Leury duke it out @ SS for next season. As it should be.
  12. QUOTE (Lillian @ Sep 5, 2017 -> 07:47 PM) Leury was always regarded as a plus middle infielder, but the outfield is really new to him. Right. And now that he has come around with the bat, he deserves a shot at the SS job. Anderson should not be annointed as the starting SS but should have to earn it. Let them both compete for the job next year.
  13. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Sep 5, 2017 -> 07:45 PM) Subtitle edited for accuracy
  14. QUOTE (Lillian @ Sep 5, 2017 -> 06:29 PM) I'm 100% behind giving him the CF job, next year and giving him every opportunity to figure it out. You find fast, good defensive centerfielders, but rarely one with potential power and a good arm. It is so intriguing. QUOTE (Jerksticks @ Sep 5, 2017 -> 06:37 PM) Yes agree. Sorry Tilso and sorry Leury. This guy makes highlight reel catches. He has a knack for the incredible with his instincts. I love having him out there next year. And i love Engel in the Outfield! I agree about giving Engel another shot as starting CFer next season. I think Leury should be given a shot at the starting SS job going into next season. If Anderson is to make it, let him compete and earn it. If Anderson does beat him out, Leury still is valuable as a super utility guy.
  15. QUOTE (Scoots @ Aug 30, 2017 -> 09:13 PM) Question is where do you put him? He has the speed to play left or center, but certainly not the range or of the ball-off-the-bat reading ability. Outfield is taken for the future anyway. Obviously 2B is covered...if he can't play short he definitely can't do 3rd. Not sure he is the SS on this 2020 team unless he makes some absolutely dramatic changes, which is possible. See Avi. Gonna take a lot of determination, hard off-season work, and willingness to freaking adjust. Which he has not done at all this season. Why does everyone annoint this guy as a starter. Leury Garcia is a better defensive SS, has shown improvement at the plate, and is still young. Why not give him a shot at being the starting SS? Anderson has earned nothing. Make him earn a spot.
  16. Mendick sounds like a player that is easy to root for. It would be nice if he could become the Sox starting SS in a couple of years.
  17. Migo pitching extremely well again. Gotta believe some contender will want him.
  18. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Aug 25, 2017 -> 08:05 PM) YoYo . If that's a joke I have no idea what it means. I think it means I I in Spanish.
  19. These uniforms are ugly. Is it true that the nickname on Yoan's uniform is Bustamente?
  20. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 21, 2017 -> 09:26 PM) Honestly, I'm more frustrated with how poorly Moncada and Anderson played today than Fulmer. With that said, hopefully Giolito performs decently tomorrow. Not overly optimistic As Kenny always told us, "Prospects are suspects until proven otherwise."
  21. Anderson's defense sucks.
