Quintana Rumors: Round and round and round we go
I want more for Quintana than what they got for Sale or I wouldn't trade him. He's the best pitcher on the market now and is under control for longer than Sale.

Rumor: Obama will be part owner within 3 years
QUOTE (Lillian @ Nov 27, 2016 -> 06:02 PM) I've been a Sox fan for over 60 years, however it would be very difficult for me to root for them, if they were owned by Obama. I'm afraid that I just couldn't subordinate my political ideology to that degree. As someone who reveres America's founding principles of liberty and limited government, that would be awfully hard to accept. Where did you see this story? Once again I agree with you.

Rangers prospect facing charges
QUOTE (raBBit @ Nov 21, 2016 -> 07:46 PM) There's a saying in baseball clubhouses, "Don't shower with the Dominicans." They don't have the homophobic society America does and they like to mess around. SMH So are you saying that most Dominicans wouldn't find this behavior weird and would approve? I doubt it.

Rangers prospect facing charges
QUOTE (raBBit @ Nov 21, 2016 -> 05:29 PM) It's pretty messed up and disgraceful from "professionals" but these are teenagers and boys will be boys. Normal boys don't do things like that.

White Sox News FA / Rumors / News
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Nov 11, 2016 -> 10:03 AM) This thread is a place to post only actual tweets / news articles / rumors. No commentary here. It was a great idea, anyway.

USA Today: White Sox Will Retain Robin Ventura, If He Wants to Return
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Oct 2, 2016 -> 01:49 PM) As far as supporting their team, they are superior. All oher aspects, definitely not. Bulls***. There are many more Cubs fans due to the way the Cubs marketed their team as opposed to the way Einhorn and Reinsdorf marketed the Sox over the past few decades. But Sox fans are just as loyal and support their team as well as any other fans. It's just that there's not as many of us. One example, how many out of town visitors to Chicago make a point of attending a Sox game as opposed to visiting Wrigley Field? If JR and Co. want to increase attendence perhaps they should try to create more White Sox fans.

2017 Lineup
QUOTE (Lillian @ Sep 12, 2016 -> 03:03 AM) If the Sox were to acquire Billy Butler, to be their DH, I think that might be the last straw for me. How would Butler do anything to fix this pathetic offense? They need one really good hitter, with a high OBP, legitimate power, and preferably left handed. You insert that guy into the top 2/3 of our current line up and you have suddenly transformed an inept lineup, to a dangerous, effective run scoring offense. Billy Butler is not that guy: Eaton Anderson Melky Abreu New DH (preferably Left Handed) Frazier That line up would be more than adequate, with the right DH. The problem is that no one seems to know who might fill that hole, or how to acquire him. It would be ideal if there were a player in the last year of his contract, playing for a new lucrative deal in 2018. He might be affordable, available and highly motivated. Then we could let him walk, with or without a qualifiying offer, at the end of the year. QUOTE (IowaSoxFan @ Sep 12, 2016 -> 09:32 AM) They do not have the resources to get that hitter. He definitely does not exist in FA, and they don't have the pieces to acquire him in a trade. Your best hope is that Collins turns into that player. Justin Morneau.

Sox in pursuit of Puig
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 27, 2016 -> 03:47 PM) Ken Rosenthal @Ken_Rosenthal 2h2 hours ago As I reported on @FS1, #Dodgers have yet to place Puig on trade waivers. Not currently eligible to be traded. So those reports of the Dodgers trying to give Puig away are all BS.

What happened to Saladino?

Sox in pursuit of Puig
Make them take Shields and the Padres money for Puig straight up. They can throw in Avi if they want him for some silly reason.

August 20th Game Thread: White Sox vs. A's
For a team that's supposedly so good at developing pitchers it's funny that they only have two really good pitchers on their roster.

Good play all the way around there.

Home plate ump giving both Sox hitters and Rodon a hard time.

Sox at Indians (Rodon vs Salazar)
QUOTE (Chris Sale @ Aug 18, 2016 -> 05:25 PM) Justin Morneau is awesome. Hope he sticks around. I feel like nearly every other Sox hitter would strike or pop out in that situation. Nice to see Abreu demonstrate patience in a stressful situation Love first inning offense! It's too bad Morneau apparently can't play 1B anymore since Abreu should only be a DH. I'd like to see the Sox re-sign Morneau and acquire a good first baseman. Abreu can be traded.

August 14th Game Thread: ChiSox @Miami Marlins
QUOTE (Soxfest @ Aug 14, 2016 -> 02:11 PM) Abreu has sucked on defense all year he is a DH only at best. Re-sign Morneau and trade Abreu.

White Sox @ Marlins
Morneau is so good. I wish the Sox could keep him.

Bernstein: Sources say White Sox might be for sale
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Aug 11, 2016 -> 04:04 PM) [/b] Better yet, Trump...because he already has a beef with the Ricketts family and Ivanka would take KW's place. At least that would be interesting. Trump Field would increase the value of the stadium and real estate in the surrounding neighborhood, until a North Korean cruise missile was launched in that direction. I'd like to see Trump buy the Sox because he would build a new stadium and get the Cubs to pay for it.

Justin Morneau 2017 DH
I'd bring back Morneau in a heartbeat. The question is, Would he want to come back and play for the White Sox?

Rick Hahn on Inside the Clubhouse
QUOTE (ptatc @ Aug 7, 2016 -> 06:34 PM) 0 World Series. Sox made it to one ('59) World Series. In those days only one team from each league made the "playoffs."

Rick Hahn on Inside the Clubhouse
QUOTE (ptatc @ Aug 7, 2016 -> 05:09 PM) Basically, better than the 30 years prior to his group buying the team. QUOTE (captain54 @ Aug 7, 2016 -> 05:25 PM) Basically BS. Look up the Sox record from 1951-1981. 16 straight winning seasons from 1951-67. Winning seasons in 72 and 77. On the way to 4 straight losing seasons with 2016. 2 of those stretches during the JR regime. Prior to that 68-77, 4 straight losing. You have to go back then to the end of WW II to find another bad stretch Thank you.

The What If Thread
I would pencil Abreu in as DH and try to find a good 1B man.
