  1. Everyone shows bias. The problem is you project someone saying. They are showing progress to Everyone pop the champagne, this team is going somewhere. I have a bias as well and mine is to give people chances to prove themselves and be more optimistic. I try lie heck not to project what I think someone means onto them. Agreeing and understanding are 2 different things. You have to agree with something but you can understand thebprocess. And still you can come up with something better than that.
  2. Not irony research. We spent a great deal of time teaching health care professional about biases, where they come from and how to minimize them. Intelligence is not one of the primary influences on biases.
  3. Again the dichotomy of opinion. Not a single person has stating that it's time for champagne and time to celebrate or even that its a great team. Just being happy that they are showing prpgress.
  4. Who has done any of things you mentioned? Certainly not me. I agree they are bad. I've made good money betting against them everyday. There isn't any chest thumping as you were asking about. There is just progress from last year. As long as they continue to show progress they'll get there.
  5. Never said anyone was dumb. You are making stuff up. I just said people cant seem to understand it for some reason. Usually its bias which has nothing to do with intelligence.
  6. Eat crow about what? That the team this year has shown progress from last year? This concept of progress goes right over the head of many people.
  7. Who is chest pumping. I believe the sentiment is, they are showing improvement. This goes back to all of the discussions. As soon as someone utters anything not negative, people start saying why do people think this team is good or why is anyone proud of this record. Everyone realizes this team is bad. However, very few teams go from bad to playoffs in one season. It can happen but not often. Stating that they are showing progress does not mean someone thinks they are going to the playoffs or even good. As I've stated many times, it is not dichotomous. They don't have to be world series champions or worst team of all time only. They can show improvement on the continuum.
  8. I agree. However instead of dwelling on the past, I'm willing to give him a chance. And a chance doesn't expire 2 years into a rebuild.
  9. All GMs do when starting a rebuild. I know you like to look things up, how many GMs have been fired in 3 years or under in any sport? Edit: the great theo epstein in first 3 years with the Cubs. 101, 96 and 89 losses.
  10. In the stadium at least from I've observed this year
  11. All depends on how the teams view their performance with the resources available to them.
  12. Agreed. It's been bad this year. Not Petty concert bad but Van Valen concert bad.
  13. That is very interesting. The discussion of work habits is telling.
  14. Cuban sandwiches and hog wild brisket nachos.
  15. The Sith always pop up if anything not negative is stated. Then will insist that everyone is saying the Sox are winning the world series and have a team of all-stars.
  16. Could be anything but it's noticeable. My seats are in the OF near him.
  17. As the season goes on Robert looks thinner and thinner.
  18. Everyone seems to love the lineup, that means the Sox will have less than 5 hits today.
  19. Not to mention they are doing a full renovation of their DR complex. That's an added cost that isn't typical.
  20. It was a combination of little league night and Mexican heritage night. Crowd was nuts. Lots of fun.
  21. They didn't have to deal with Chicago and Illinois politics as well as the unions.
