  1. I would say the opposite. The "old" stats of 21 HR and 66 BRI from a 2B,would be pretty impressive. However the "new" stats of .315 OBP and .719 OPS are less than impressive.
  2. I'm a little conflicted on the issue. In one respect other players have gotten it. On the other, it sets a real bad precedent of implicitly telling the players they don't need to follow the rules. The current situation is mostly due to the new head lowering rule but it doesn't sound like the agent wants it for just that rule. They want it for any suspension. Which is odd because the Bears did have a suspension last year for a hit and they didn't take away any of the guaranteed money.
  3. No surprise with the bandbox of a stadium that is in Charlotte. I don't think many people thought he would have much trouble in AAA.
  4. I'm beginning to think that everyone is worried about the recurring elbow issues and they are trying to modify his mechanics. I don't think they would allow him to keep pitching if he was still in pain and was currently injured. Didn't he have the issues in high school? Maybe they tried to change his mechanics in college and that's why he had the control issues then.
  5. Isn't the player meeting his potential ultimately what is best for the team? You don't know that it won't hurt his development. Just as they don't know it will help his development. The best they can do is progress him as best they see fit and what they believe will be the best for his development.
  6. I would disagree. I would bring them up when the sox believe they are ready.
  7. 116 pitches. Are they trading him by Tuesday?
  8. That's what many posters on board have been professing all year. Don't bring him up because the Sox will lose a year of control.
  9. No. But he is really late getting to the cocking phase. Similar to sale.
  10. It's a good article. However, its a shame that 49 SB is termed "head turning." It's true but sad. Goes back to the triple result of HR/K/BB taking over the game and the decreased action and plays in a game.
  11. This is absolutely true. My kids are in high school and college. They don't use facebook and call it obsolete. They only use instagram and snapchat.
  12. Makes sense. A fracture takes 6-8 weeks to heal. That puts him back to baseball activities around early to mid-september and the minor league season is over.
  13. I would disagree. They don't need any more of this type of deal. They have enough of these AAAA fodder that may pan out ie Delmonico, Palka, Skole. They should trade for true speculation like the Shield for Tatis deal.
  14. I agree with this mostly. How Sale performs in the post season is a caveat to it.
  15. Adams is the youngest pitcher of the entire group by at least 1 year. So if the others have past him they still have time to wait, although with the injuries he may get the shot before them.
  16. I agree. As does baseball management when they talk about action in the game.
  17. He strikes out at a high rate and hasn't walked much. It is very few games but it doesn't bode well.
  18. But it's a dry heat.
  19. Can the posters here handle another former Sox player as a manager?
  20. With Britton off the market the price and demand for Soria just inched up a little. Good news for the Sox.
  21. If the injury wss that bad he should have been out of the game. It's not like he even he really just ran slowly he wss almost walking. There's a big difference between not going all out to protect a mild injury and what he did.
  22. Who cares about manager rules that put you in the habit of always running out plays at first. It never effects the outcome of a game.
  23. Under for the Sox. Over for his career. He will figure it out later in his career.
