  1. I have Thome 3rd, Dye 4th, and Konerko 5th in MLB 2K6, but then again, Thome has 97 hrs in my current season.
  2. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Aug 3, 2006 -> 10:51 AM) I've got a finger on PA's pulse, and number two is blatantly false. PA is a mildly Conservative state, especially by Liberal standards. Casey is mildly Liberal, and you might call him a Centrist. He'll almost certainly lose votes amongst College Liberals and some other Liberals to the Green candidate. I don't think it'll be enough to derail him, but it'll be significant. PA is a state where you never know where an election will go. Santorum is fully capable of a rally. I think he'll be defeated, but please don't confuse California or Illinois with Pennsylvania. He won't lose in a landslide like Alan Keyes. I hear ya, but I don't think way left libs, despite hating Casey's more centrist (and sometimes downright right) views, will chance splitting their vote and leaving Santorum in there.
  3. QUOTE(SoxFan76 @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 10:52 AM) These are the bandwagon fans who support this stuff, they aren't the "real" fans. Yet every Cub fan I come across in my daily life is a "real" Cub fan. Who to believe...hmm... That's what they want you to believe........ (there's no such thing as a REAL cubs fan. As if........)
  4. 1. If Bush 41 hadn't sucked so goddamn bad, then he wouldn't have lost votes to Perot. That's the Rupubs fault for running a bad candidate. 2. This Green candidate WILL NOT hurt Casey. People are more anti-Santorum than the Repubs know, and will do anything to get him out of there.
  5. Yay! Go Scopes, It's Your Birthday! Go Scopes!!
  6. Did I read that they're being reprinted in the Daily Southtown? It's about time Skanberg got some mainstream coverage and/or exposure for this.
  7. QUOTE(StrangeSox @ Jul 24, 2006 -> 11:00 AM) Heads, get outta here with them facts. We all know the ACLU only supports extremely left-wing child molesters and violent criminal because they hate America and everything good in the world. I don't think its been mentioned yet, but cheers to the Patriot Guard Riders for sheilding the families from the WBC clowns. the World Baseball Classic??????
  8. wow, those jon stewart clips are amazing. thanks Gene.
  9. man, we suck. oh well. can I remind people that we did win the World Series last yera?
  10. I should be surprised, but I'm not..... Hopefully Bush gets taken to the mat for this. I thought knowledge of what is sexual harassment was well-known nowadays, but I guess not.
  11. at the G8 Summit, Bush gropes the Chancellor of Germany: http://www.alternet.org/blogs/peek/39135/ "Eclipsing even his father's unfortunate chunk-hurling on the Emperor of Japan, Bush has made yet another shameful blunder on what is now undoubtedly the most embarrassing official trip abroad for any American president. After stumbling from Putin's smackdown at his suggestion that Russia ought to emulate the democracy in Iraq to babbling about wanting to eat a pig to getting caught on tape cursing while chomping on a roll, Bush channeled the Creepy Guy at Work who gives a female coworker an unwanted massage, much to his repulsed target's chagrin. Of course, it wasn't just any gal The Groper went after. It was German Chancellor Angela Merkel." My workplace sexual harassment policy does not allow this. Does the G8's?????
  12. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jul 14, 2006 -> 08:54 AM) The NYT is liberal rag. what's wrong with that?
  13. LMB - love that avatar. Even if we leave Detroit next weekend 1 or 2 games back, I don't see anything to worry about. Lots of baseball left. I predict Cleveland for another run, and I predict a monumental collapse for Detroit. we'll see...............
  14. QUOTE(Drew @ Jul 12, 2006 -> 08:25 PM) Well, I heard somewhere that Jonathan Papelbon eats newborn flesh. what's wrong with that?
  15. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 11, 2006 -> 08:45 PM) Did you all enjoy the All-David Wright Game? They couldn't have blown him more that game if they tried. I believe they interviewed him, his relatives, or other players (who were asked about him) just about every single inning, along with talking about him every half inning. he's from new york and the mets are in 1st. are you surprised???
  16. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jul 11, 2006 -> 07:48 PM) They should have played "America, F&%$ Yeah!" from the Team America soundtrack. That works for me.
  17. QUOTE(tigerfan @ Jul 11, 2006 -> 07:42 PM) I like God Bless America. It's a nice way to pay tribute to this great nation of ours. And as for those who are asking for Take Me Out to the Ballgame, it more then gets its fair share of play during the baseball season. God Bless America is done maybe a handful of times a year (mostly on national TV), so it really isn't that big a deal for Take Me Out to the Ballgame to be foregone every once in a while IMO. It shouldn't be played during a baseball game EVER - esp during the 7th inning stretch.
  18. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jul 11, 2006 -> 07:36 PM) Bring back Take Me Out to the Ballgame. I third that. I am so goddamned sick of GBA. We're over that pseudo-patriotic tripe now.
  19. QUOTE(SouthsideNorthsideFan @ Jul 11, 2006 -> 06:47 PM) figures they'd have to go "there" with Ozzie...had to bring up the garbage during the All-Star Game? really fun chatter, guys... what garbage? at leastthey didn't ask about the slur.
  20. I traded Pods back to Milwaukee for Carlos Lee on MLB 2K6, and man is my team good right now. I am hitting so many homers it's not funny.
  21. while I definitely want him to avoid potential injury pitching in an exhibition game, I really want him to be able to get the praise and cheers he deserves for being the anchor of last year's world series winner. Hopefully, he's still going to the game, even if he won't pitch.
  22. QUOTE(SnB @ Jul 1, 2006 -> 01:26 PM) we made all cubs fans collectively jump off a building, oh man God, I wish.
