Another interesting tidbit from that article.... This is for all the guys who want us to sign Hawkins as our closer.

Hilarious!!! ... But, if, in fact, it does turn me into a woman, it can be assumed that I certainly will be a lesbian.

Unless I am specifically thinking about it, I generally neglect to use the word "I" to start a sentence. Catch myself doing it all the time.

As I saw that Dez White play unfold, I didn't think he would make it out of bounds. I was shocked when he didn't try, but he might have thought the same thing as me. One broken tackle and 5 extra yards would have put them in FG range. I wouldn't think someone would "stat pad" in that situation. By the way, I want to mention that I am not a big fan of Dez White. But that is the way I saw the play.

I'd venture to guess that Jordan wouldn't think Pippen is overrated. I can't believe you guys forget how Pippen could change a basketball game with his defense. Basketball is not all about slam dunks and three pointers or total individual points scored.

As a kid, I wasn't much of a college football fan and living in the Chicago area at the time, I really had no allegience, nor reason to have any, for either team. Still, there is something about this game that has glued me to the TV every year since I was 8 or 9 years old.

USC might fall to #3 in the BCS

Your alarm clock should be going off at anytime. This is a dream scenario. -
72 Dolphin team fans and players rejoice!

I don't see anything wrong about them celebrating. That was a fantastic achievement, one they all shared and are all still very proud of. As they should be. I still respect and salute the '72 Dolphins, though I still think the '85 Bears were better. -
Am I reading this right? As in, if Carlos Lee would be the last person you'd hold on to, that means he'd be the first one to be traded?
-
Rex, I can answer that question without batting an eye. White Sox fans do not TRUST Jerry Reinsdorf. They do not believe that he would actually spend the money if they put 3 million butts in the seats.
-
I can't recall where I read it, sorry, but someone (a baseball insider) referring to the ligament in Colon's right elbow called it "ugly". I'm not sure about any more details or how they know what it looks like, but that arm very well could "pop" this season.
-
To me, a power pitcher is a guy that can blow the fastball by a good hitter on 3 consecutive pitches, usually by "climbing the ladder". Colon is a power pitcher. Koch was one at one time. I don't see any classic power pitchers currently on the roster.

I can see an argument being made for any and all of ARod, Stewart, Ortiz, Posada, Boone, Delgado, etc. It all depends on your personal criteria for what MVP should actually mean. And when it comes down to it, that is what is being debated here more so than the individual players.

The term "not invited" can be interpreted in any number of ways. I wouldn't jump to any conclusions based on that little tidbit of information.

I just wanted to wish all of you guys the best of luck on any and all of your endeavors. It sounds like you guys have some good ideas and are taking the proper approach to do things in the correct manner.

I think the blue seats may have had a calming effect on the team.

Yes. You are right. Maggs did have a very unspectacular season in 2003. Up to 2003, he had constantly and consistently improved from year to year. So, the guy has a somewhat ... somewhat, mind you ... off year and we are all ready to throw him in the dumper. This a guy who doesn't say much. Yet, he called it like it was early in the season when he said, simply, "We stink." He has usually done his talking with his bat, and I'm fine with that. Maggs didn't live up to our expectations this year, so now he's got an attitude problem, he's not worth the money he gets, etc. etc. It amazes me how guys can be very good for 4 or 5 years, have a subpar year, and Sox fans turn on the guy. It's happening with Maggs. It happened with Konerko. And Buehrle.

Rex, Respectfully, sir, you really aren't grasping what these folks are trying to say. You have to look at the past, even back to the pre-Reinsdorf days, of the White Sox. Being a fan of the Sox has been a lifetime of disappointment, frustration and shattered hopes. We all consider ourselves good, loyal fans. Yet, we have not been shown the same loyalty by the current "regime". Here's the best way I can put for you. We are still loyal White Sox fans despite Reinsdorf. We are hanging in there, hoping beyond hope, when we know that he won't make a commitment to win the World Series. All Reinsdorf has ever insisted on was that the team be "competitive", not that they be champions. Still, while we all know that this is his attitude (It's been this way for over 20 years.) we still support this team. We all hope that some day, magic will strike the Sox like it did the Marlins this year. Of course, if we threw in the towel and said to hell with it, that would be the year it happened. Nobody wants to invest a lifetime in a team, then miss it when the impossible dream becomes reality.

I don't know if Jon Rauch can cut it or not. But, still, after his rehab season this past year, he deserves a shot at it before we give up on him.

Wishful thinking

Or the cheap-ass White Sox

The Orioles have supposedly made an offer to Florida for Derrek Lee.

Maybe they are holding out for Joe Girardi.

Hmmmm .... You beat to this one. Was just going to post that quote.
