  1. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 4, 2011 -> 08:54 PM) Damn, I forgot how he pulled Buehrle when he was cruising in that 1-0 Oakland game, and then he used that BS excuse that they were trying to limit Buehrle's pitches this year. I was at that game with a pretty large group of friends. We didn't know whether to be more angry at Ozzie pulling Buehrle (especially for Thornton) or Pierre dropping the fly ball.
  2. QUOTE (flavum @ Aug 4, 2011 -> 08:49 PM) No walks. I want to see them play a four-game series with none. I can't decide what's more impressive: getting completely crushed in 3 out of 4 games while being swept at home, or not walking at all the whole series.
  3. Thatta boy, Dunner. If you're going to suck, at least save our occasional moments of glory for important spots.
  4. QUOTE (gatnom @ Aug 4, 2011 -> 08:15 PM) My favorite part about this is that Ranger's current line apparently is that had Dunn and Rios played like they were capable of the Sox would be fine. Well if the iceburg hadn't been there, or if the ship had been equipped with enough lifeboats, the Titanic would've been fine, too.
  5. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Aug 4, 2011 -> 08:48 PM) Damn, I missed the Martin blast. Keep in mind he had only hit one HR since May 24th until he saw White Sox pitching. Well the blast tonight only went about 415 feet.
  6. I hope the Yankees enjoyed their 4 day vacation in Chicago. At least somebody is having fun.
  7. Don't forget April 11th against Oakland. With a 1-0 lead in the 9th, Oakland had a man on 2nd and 1 out when Juan Pierre dropped a fly ball in the corner on the warning track. Or April 8th against Tampa Bay. Up 7-4 in the 9th, only to completely collapse and give up 5 unearned runs after another Juan Pierre fielding disaster.
  8. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Aug 4, 2011 -> 07:42 PM) I would give up alcohol for Robinson Cano. To have him on your team, or have relations with him? This post is pretty vague.
  9. That looked like the best 2 strike hit and run of all time.
  10. QUOTE (TitoMB @ Aug 4, 2011 -> 07:14 PM) Wordiest sentence ever. But still true. Haha, I have been wordier than that before.
  11. I'm not even being hyperbolic when I say I don't think I've ever seen a team who gets doubled up on lineouts/flyouts more than the Sox this year.
  12. I'm not sure how anything here is scary. People just say his Dad is a terrible manager and his brother is an idiot. Neither of those points is exactly controversial, either.
  13. I think there's a great chance this happens. Which would be just fantastic since La Russa is probably the only manager in baseball I dislike more than Ozzie.
  14. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Aug 3, 2011 -> 10:19 PM) WHY do you people argue who is worse, honestly? They are both not very good, and they both ought to be fired. Does anybody disagree that they both should be fired? Amen.
  15. Well, that Pirates thing was fun while it lasted. Not that anybody expected it to last very long. I hope they at least break the below .500 streak this year.
  16. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Aug 3, 2011 -> 09:31 PM) I just got back from having this travesty of a team inflicted upon me by the TV’s at Red Robin. Yikes. At least you got some Red Robin out of the deal.
  17. How many hits does Jeter have tonight? 11? I'm a big fan of using the closer down 11, though.
  18. This game has moved into "we might see a position player pitch" territory now.
  19. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 3, 2011 -> 08:50 PM) Thornton is an extremely expensive mop-up man. Sure glad we held on to him. The good news is he turns 35 next month. Still plenty of time for him to improve.
  20. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 3, 2011 -> 08:42 PM) Seems our players/manager like to argue a lot of calls that were actually correct Not only was he safe, he looked easily safe.
  21. Well, at least that was interesting.
  22. I just unfollowed Scott Merkin on Twitter because he said something nice about Ozzie. Perhaps ridiculous, but it felt necessary.
  23. Is there some sort of thing you can take that has the complete opposite impact that steroids do? I think Brent Morel takes it. I'm not sure he can hit a ball that would even crack a window.
  24. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Aug 3, 2011 -> 08:17 PM) Like how you said tweets. Haha. I would have NEVER noticed I did either had you not pointed it out.
  25. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Aug 3, 2011 -> 08:14 PM) You beat me to it by a minute! Haha and then the next guy said 15-12. Three straight tweets basically saying the exact same thing. We White Sox fans have the misery thing down pat.
